This is a list of most of the developers of Gaia. It is by no means complete since we only know a handful of the developers of Gaia.

With the permission of the admins, I have tried to compile a comprehensive list of all the developers of Gaia.

Many people don't know who and what the developers do on Gaia. My goal is to bring awareness and understanding of their work here. Apart from the work the admins do, these developers contribute to the coding and art of major aspects of this site. They work to update new and old features.

I don't claim to know everything that they do nor do I claim that this list is complete and devoid of errors. Truthfully, the admins won't give me the names either so everything you see here is public knowledge already. Unless somebody wants to divulge developers usernames that would be great. biggrin

If you know developers who are not on this list, please post here their username and possibly what their work is related to. If you don't want to post, just PM me with the info and your privacy will be respected and guarded.I would really appreciate any help offered, thank you.

It's only a start of what may be a short list of developers. By no means does this list rank the developers, I will put it in an alphabetical order sometime. Some on this list might just be mules of the developers so correct me if I am wrong, thank you.

My first bump and yeah.. still wondering if I should expand this or not. x.x
Deleted one dev who is now an admin.

I should add an admin list too since they develop the site too.

Perhaps a developer/admin list? Isn't Darknrgy an admin 'cause I think they're orange.

DARKNRGY is a developer with admin status.

I should clarify what an admin does and what a developer does.

Kiy, while I applaud your effort to get some awareness to the developers, I would suggest perhaps asking them first before listing them, as many developers stay in the shadows for a reason compared to the ones a bit more well known for their actions in public relations sweatdrop

For the public ones though whom I know wouldn't prob mind being listed on here, I can give a sum up of what I was aware of their positions for the most part.

Darknrgy is an all around guy for the most part, primarily working the GGN Coding, and upgrades to that, but really to my knowledge he gets his hands dipped into everything it seems like o_o

Ariesboy seems to be one of the devs with the avatar system a bit now, also the dev behind the 'User Messages/Ads' system.

72Squared is a Database guru, God if you prefer with all the database handling xd

Jsk/Pizmonaut, Said to be ex-Sims developers, programmers of Homes and Towns primarily I believe, though they don't participate in public too much >.<, so not sure if they'd wanna be listed.

Omgwhat, Arena's guru o_o ... and a hell of a patient person for dealing with the angry mob of members over some of the Avatar Arena glitches >_<

Twobit, Profiles system - Ex Myspace dev I believe I heard somewhere o_O (Plus the whole profile system being similar to the Myspace profiling system does suggest that also)

B5, One of the good Flash developers, worked on Casino, Fishing, I believe he had a bit into Towns also.

Kaia9, Journals is primarily what I know him of, I think he is sorta like Darknrgy and has his hands dipped into a bit here and there somewhat.

Hopefully that provides you some light if you aren't already aware of what those guys and gal(s) did.
Thank you Arethic for the information. I am still deciding what to do with this list.

I got approval from admins to create it but like you said, I know several who don't appear and are working on several features. I haven't listed those yet.

It's a hard decision since I don't want to give away new features that are being worked on and might give away the element of suprise.

That is why I haven't worked on this list because the sensitivity of it creates confusion and might hamper that developers focus with unnecessary PM's and comments. sweatdrop

Well, for the most part I know a lot of the developers just try to keep private, I've known most of them except with an exclusion I think one name on your list looks unfamiliar to me, and yes you are missing a good few, haha.

But yeah, I usually never mention anyone by name other than the ones whom have somewhat participated publically to the site (Making announcements, answering feedback, etc on the features they created/helped with), cause I figure there is a good reason the others just don't do the same things xp

For the most part, a list of the public devs whom don't mind people knowing what they do, and what they are Currently doing in lines of what projects they have finished (Such as the list I already provided you) is useful for a user knowing exactly whom to contact if they do have a rather critical issue with a feature and feel they need to bypass the Bug reports forum quickly.
Hm... I might just list the publicly acknowledged devs and expand their role in current features.

Or I might just let Sephy and Syko absorb this and let them continue on it.

I'm still deciding and since Gaia is moving towards NPC announced events and features, dev usernames won't appear as much as before.

I'll just let this float a bit more and see what kind of response I get from other users.

I'm not sure how much they plan to use the Rina NPC for feature releases, if anything though you can be sure to see a developer posting their own Glitch/Feedback reporting stickies of course, and posting general replies to the initial waves of reports in forums like SF and Q&A for the most part.

I think honestly you should keep the list up, just maybe limit it down to like the developers I listed, and just sum it up like I suggested with what current public features they have out, that way users do have a resource to rely on if they are curious as to whom they would contact for such things.

I'd just stick some guidelines up there for both mysake and the developers, and mention really that the only reason to directly contact a Developer for (atleast in lines of Glitches/Bugs) is if its something very critical, or something critical like which involves sensitive information which should not be posted publically, other than that everything else goes into the Bugs/Glitches subforum of Q&A o.o.

Just turn it into a bit of an Informational Resource guide, to do more than just point out the devs? : P
