how can you tell it's equipped? I tried to click on it in the inventory, but I don't see it in the forums. I'm not sure I'm using mine correctly.

Equip it onto your avatar like any other item, then save the avatar. It'll show up after.

The animated versions are a seperate item from the still versions you can buy. They're given to the creators of the flairs in a limited quantity (available to be rereleased later at Gaias discretion). There are some Gaia created animated flairs though ([Animated] Shooting Star's Gift, Gift of Magic, Mana's Gift)

Depends on which one(s) you want.

If it's from a Flaired Up Ticket (either the 2 from last year, or this month's 3) you'd have to contact the user who subbed the ticket directly to see if they have any spare copies that they're willing to sell.

If it's from a bundle then you either have to buy the animated version or bundle from the MP or Exchange forum.
