zOMG Elite Clan Promotional Message

The zOMG Elite is a battle clan for the more experienced Gaian. We have a set membership criteria to join and are one of the few clans which do have application standards (quality control); as most clans, even themed ones, accept just about anyone. The zOMG Elite membership is highly exclusive, so if you happen to gain membership or obtain an invitation...bravo smile

The zOMG Elite is about forming battle teams, discussing strategies, and generally acting as pioneers in the world of zOMG! We have a lot of organized exclusive content that cannot be found anywhere else. If you want to see what clans are about, then please take a moment to watch our promotional videos. Our clan is all about zOMG!, but we go beyond the game into social discussions and fun activities.

Clans Introduction

I know a lot of people are wondering "What is a clan for?" Please take a moment to read this for a better understanding. The battle clan is an online community, like a guild, but the clan is focused on zOMG Gaiaonline's MMORPG (Massively Muliplayer Role Playing Game) which is produced by Qixter, the senior producer.

Battle clans are like exclusive clubs. You can only join one. Once inside the clan forums, you can meet people and discuss whatever topics you'd like. Ideally, the clan should appeal to you, either with its active forums, strong members, or plethora of themes. When you are in a battle clan, you are like team mates with everyone inside the same clan; you also gain access to Clan Chat via GIM. It allows you to speak to everyone inside of your clan whilst you are playing zOMG, thus making it easier to create a crew of players.

Clan objective (what is a clan for)

The main purpose of a clan is to unite zOMGaians so that you can play zOMG! together. The game awards co-operation and encourages socialization. Clans will give you the same forum environment with the added bonus of enabling clan chat. While in game, if you need a member, you can try asking the entire clan by simply typing in a message smile

zOMG! is nicknamed the casual MMO. When you're not playing it, feel free to relax and socialize inside the clan forums. The clan forums should focus on zOMG! as the primary discussion, but there may be sub forums. Some categories may include music, animé, video games, general discussion, to even politics. Truly, anything.

Joining a clan

Joining a clan is easy. Please consider the one disadvantage to joining a clan...you can only join one. Choose wisely. If you join a clan that does not suit you, then you can quit at any time and apply to another.

How to Join
Select Community> Clans> Find A Clan.
You will now see a roster/list of clan names. The top clans are ranked higher. Consider which clan appeals to you by reading the information on their homepage.

When you are on the clan homepage on the top right corner there is a join button. Click it and type in a message. If the clan has a series of questions, be sure to answer them to the best of your ability.




Joining by invitation
There are some clans which scout for members. They may send you an invitation to join the clan. If you accept the invitation and click the "Join Clan" button, you will receive a confirmation prompt.




How to Quit
Select Community> Clans> My Clan.
When on the homepage of your clan, there is a button on the top right corner entitled "Quit". Simply click that and you will be free to apply to another clan.

Clan invitations

The members of a clan have the ability to send out an invitation to a Gaian they deem worthy of joining their clan. Guilds have the same feature, but the difference is that you can only be a member of one clan. If you have received an invitation, consider yourself lucky, because someone has taken their time and would like you as a member smile


How to prevent invitations
If you do not want guild or clan invitations, please follow these simple steps to ensure you do not receive further invitations.

Option 01
Select My Gaia> Account Settings> Preferences or click this link http://www.gaiaonline.com/account/preferences/

now find the Guilds> Allow Guilds Invites. There is a drop down menu which by default is set to "YES" click it and set it to "NO" and finally scroll down and press the "Save All Changes" button. Guilds or Clans will not be able to send out invitations to you anymore, but you are still free to join or quit any guilds or clans.




Option 02
If you would like to get invitations but not from a specific guild or clan, simply ignore the invitation rather then clicking the "Clear Invitation" button. This keeps the invitation active and prevents that guild or clan from sending you another.




Option 03
Block the sender of the invitation by adding them onto your ignored list. This should also prevent them from sending PM's or invitations.



Option 04
Just ignore it if you are not interested. Tip to consider is do not message the sender or start a discussion about invitations. This is because there are many avatars which look the same or usernames which have similar names, so getting an invitation twice is not uncommon.



Sending Invitations
Only crew/moderator members of a guild or clan are able to send out a direct invitation. This sub section is for crew members only. Please consider who you invite and set some guidelines, otherwise the invitations will seem random. Although it is subjective.

To send an invite select Moderator Panel> Invite users to this Clan.
The screen will prompt you to insert the username of the member you would like to invite and a custom message field entitled "Reason".

Creating a clan

Please realize that creating a clan is a privilege and not a right. Anyone can create a clan, but without proper time and dedication, it will be nothing more than a waste of Gaia server space. Consider how much time you can dedicate to build and moderate your community. I can assure you, it will be time consuming to establish a good battle clan...or else you are doing it wrong.


How to create
To create a new clan select Community> Clans> Or click here to create a new clan.

Now you will be required to fill in the following information.

1. Name
2. Description
3. Banner
4. Entry Fee
5. Type
6. Misc other

Types Explained

Public: The public clan is viewable by anyone and unregistered members can post inside the clan without joining.
Private: The public members can view the clan, however they cannot post inside the clan. Only members are allowed to post in private clans.
Hidden: The public cannot view or post inside the clan without membership.


How to delete
Have you ever heard of the saying "A captain goes down with his ship?" well the clan is your ship and you are forever stuck inside it unless you wish to transfer the clan ownership to someone else (victim). Alternatively, you can attempt to sell it or donate it to someone.

GIM & Clan Chat access

What is GIM?
GIM (Gaia Instant Messenger) is now built into the Gaiaonline.com website by default. It will sign in and you can IM (Instant Message) people on your friends list, guild chat rooms, or clan chat.


Disable Auto sign in
To disable Auto sign in click My Gaia> Account Settings> Preferences or click this http://www.gaiaonline.com/account/preferences/

The set the Gaia Instant Messenger options to the following.
Enable Auto Popup: "NO"
Automatically log in to Gaia IM: "NO"
Tip: Do not block the guild bot, it may cause problems with clan chat but GIM will still pop up and auto sign in.

Now the GIM will be disabled. For the changes to take place, make sure that you press the "Save All Changes" button, sign out of your Gaia account, and log back on.



Clan Chat
Clan chat is the best feature of GIM and being a member of a clan. It allows you to speak to all of the members in your clan.

Select Games> zOMG and load your selected server. Once in game, observe the chat panel. Click Clan Chat and you can type in messages to your clan.

There are four tabs and each is colour coded. By selecting the yellow "Clan" tab, you can type messages which will only be seen by your clan members. The upper tabs are filters so if you do not want to see, for example the red "Shout", simply click "Crew" or "Clan" and it will not be visible. Experiment to find your preferences.

Q: Can I change a guild into a clan?
A: No a guild cannot be converted into a clan.
