Welcome to Gaia! ::

Thank you for your help!
I use the new version of Firefox all the time and I find no, if any, problems with the site. Towns doesn't work for me even in IE 7 so I don't know about that.

maybe this info helps ...

arrow Firefox version 1.5.0.6 (uk) incl.
installed newest shockwave and flash
plugins seem to solve speed, game and
profile issues - under xp and 98

sadly. the housing inventory issue seems to
be a site bug neutral
I'll just say it even though you'll probably never see it.

But firstly, did you think that Towns issues could be caused by cache errors and glitches in programing instead of browser problems.

and secondly, IE for mac is the same as IE 5, and IE 5 is a old product, it has been discontinued and thus your comment about MS not learning dosen't realy have a point because you're talking about a product that was created before the standards that are needed for gaia were created. And the same goes for mozilla, it's a old product and if you are seperating the different IE's then you shouldn't combine Mozilla and Firefox.

Also, where did you get your info that Gaia was made for IE. Commonly websites are built first following W3C standards then they have a few tweaks added to make them compatable with the site.

I'm going to do some fix ups on the list.
You wrote that the site is made for IE but it was made from it's start for Firefox because IE had problems with the old flash banners.

Another thing is that you wrote that ff frezzes the towns sometimes but that isn't firefox itself. When you don't refresh or move at the towns it get's a timeout, that's all.

Not very usefull guide.

That's why I rewrote the table at Gaiapedia:
http://gaia.wikia.com/wiki/Browser_Compatiblity

I made parts of it more accurate.
Mozilla and Firefox have been split up because mozilla is a old version and could now be considered inferior and that's why the firefox ratings were low. IE 5 is combined for both Mac and Windows bacause that's essentialy what it is. Coloring has been changed, the two tables have been combined. And a new legend is on the side, allong with the fact that the table distunguishes between Outdated, Standard, Beta software, and software we don't know the state of. Whoops forgot to change the Browser Problems comments fully I missed one.
