Basic Gold Earning
Are you having trouble earning gold? Ready to explode with all this confusion? Relax, here's some information you might find will come in handy.
There are some things to know before earning gold, to help make sense of things.
The marketplace is user-run, what's user-run?
This means that the Gaia staff has nothing to do with the prices items sell for. They do control how many are set out in RIG's or "CI's"/Daily Chance/Limited Time Cash Shop Items, etc.
This way they can control some of the amounts going to people.
This means if an item you badly want is going for a very high price, it's either high in demand or very rare. If an item sells for a small amount of gold in the marketplace it can mean any of these:
It's being sold in a Gold Shop for a close price
There are a lot in the system (A lot of people have them)
It's not rare
It's not popular/not many favor the item
You can sell items for whatever price you want, but people may not be willing to buy them if you price them too high considering the amount that are available.
What the heck is Inflation?
Inflation is when an item is priced beyond what it should be selling for.
You can tell when an item is inflated by showing the graphs in the marketplace (located below "try it on" ). If the lines have recently spiked up in price, it's inflated. It can be inflated for many reasons, such as:
It was mentioned in an Announcement
People have been playing with the pricing in the MP
It goes nicely with a new item released
A lot of users have been using them, others will start to buy them
There are many more examples, but these are usually the reasons why they inflate.
You can buy items in the Gaia Exchange (see forum map three posts above), and ask for certain items. If an item has recently been inflated, remind the seller that it's inflated.
What's wrong with inflation?
When there are too many items that are inflated it upsets the balance of prices in the marketplace. People have to earn more gold for items that shouldn't be priced for what they are, causing huge amounts of gold to be passed around.
Having too much gold pumped causes inflation on everything and anything. That means all the prices will go up, to keep up with the amount of gold that's being circulated.
After time, the items that are so easily acquired can become the hardest of things to buy.
So, I shouldn't earn a lot of gold?
It's unlikely that you, yourself, could hurt the economy by earning too much gold. This just means don't price your items for ridiculous prices, instead, learn to watch the graphs in the marketplace. What's the average buy price for the longest period of time? Price it around that range. You'll see, people may follow.
Also, selling your items the lowest in the marketplace will ensure your item will sell first. If you want to make a slightly larger profit, sell it for a bit more and wait for a buyer who is willing to pay a little extra.

There are plenty of way to earn gold, some can be exceptionally easy, others, not so much. You are a very lucky person if you have a fast computer, this will be easier for you.
Let's start with posting
Near the beginning of when you made your account, you'll get a bonus for posting in the forums (you can still get it afterward, as well, just not as much).
The average amount for posting in the forums is about 4-9 gold, with the bonus you can get anywhere from 15-45 gold.
If you're constantly posting, everyday, you'll probably get around 3-5,000 gold for posting (that is, if you post enough).
Without the bonus, you can get anywhere from 2-5,000 gold, depending on how much you post.
Voting in polls
Voting in polls can get you around 4-9 without the starter bonus, with the starter bonus you can get anywhere from 4-20 gold. Constantly voting in polls will not always get you gold, you must spread the amount of polls you take out.
Voting in polls can usually get you around 500 gold to 1,000 gold without the starter bonus. With the starter bonus you can get 500 gold to 1,500 gold, usually.
Bootygrab
This is the fish tank game. If you have a slower computer this game may be difficult for you.
Surfing through the Gaia Aquarium forum you come across a lot of glowing thread. Glowing means their fish are tossing out small to large amounts of gold. To play Bootygrab, you need to click the play bottom on the persons signature and wait for the countdown to fish, instructions are there while you wait.
Once the game starts, you run your mouse back and forth catching the gold that the fish drops. Beware! avoid the red bubbles, only try to collect the blue ones. The red ones can slow you down, take some time of your clock, or make your seashell smaller(what you catch the gold with). The blue ones can give you more time, speed you up, and make your seashell large.
Mini-games
Gaia has many small games on the Games landing page (Home, My Gaia, Shops, Forums, World, Games).
Playing these games can grant you some gold, the longer you play, the more gold you earn.
Surfing Gaia
Surfing Gaia will grant you small amounts of gold. The average amount you get for surfing is 4 gold each time. It can be anywhere from 4-15 gold.
Daily Chance
Every 24 hours, on the landing pages on Gaia, there is a small cart that shows up in the corner that can grant you small awards. They can grant you gold or items. There are only five, but after 24 hours you can click on them again when they appear.
Jaws/Overseerer
Everyday the small man in your tank can grant you a small aware, but to receive it you must have at least one fish in your tank. You won't get your award if you don't have a fish or your fish died.
He can grant gold or items.
zOMG!
A free MMO Gaia hosts. Fighting the animated, finishing quests for NPC's, playing mini-game can all grant you gold, items, recipes and more.
Free Sponsors
A sponsor/company will pay Gaia to advertise on their site. You can get gold, items, or even raffle tickets that can sell for a wide range of gold.
Hoarding them until they are worth more gold is always a good choice when it comes to sponsor items because they are only available for the limited time. Some examples for popular sponsor items that go for a lot of gold are: Trendy Dark Skinny Jeans, Celebrity Snare Hulk Rage Emote, GO Phones, and well, you get the idea.
Car achievements
"Also if you haven't done so already, complete the 'My Car Achievements ' for 18000 gold.
Go to My Car. Click on the shield with the diagonal line. It says Achievements.
To "park" your car in the garage, you need to click on 'remove from spot' (if this is a light gray, click on 'dont use in rally' first. ) Then click on the blue plus sign, which leads to a pop-up window where you add your car.
To "park" your car in the rally, you first need to make sure you have clicked 'use in rally' or your car won't follow you. Click on "Go to Rally" , which will give you a pop-up with choices as to which room to enter. After you've chosen a room, you'll be in a parking lot. Hover over a 'space' and it will highlight. Click on it to park your car. Hover over your car and it will give you two crossed flags. Clicking on the flags leads to a 'remove car' bar. Click on that and you can re-park your car. You can re-park your car as many times as needed in a single visit to the rally.
