What do I do with items from Towns?

Apart from exchanging them for hats and boots at the fishing shack, no. But you need at least five thousand cans/boots, I think.

1000 boots for a pair of Patchwork Boots. 5000 cans for a Tin Hat.
The cans and boots you find in Towns DO add to you totals that you get in Fishing. And they don't cost you any bait gold.

This is really great and has helped me a lot! I was wondering, though, if you could put up which bugs go into which colour of ink. While some of them are really obvious (grasshopper, red dragonfly) some of them have me confused (firefly, cicada, cricket).

This question may have been answered already, but dose anybody else have a problem getting back into Gaia town? I haven't been able to get back in there since the exchange thing started.
