That just made me want to write a quick drabble or something in the Reply window. XD

FICLET:

After much thought and consideration over many a glass of wine that Edmund came to a realization.
His beloved Lex was a slut.

Not the paid kind, mind, but his attentions did wander quite a bit. Edmund had seen Lex’s eyes wonder over other Gaians more than he cared to admit though it had never really bothered him in the past. Lex was a young man, in the prime of life. He had every right to look if he wanted and he always came back to him.

This time, it was different. This wasn’t a mild infatuation with Liam or a small crush on Lond. Even the drunken kiss with Russell during the last Anniversary ball had been forgivable. This time, Edmund was almost positive Lex was having an affair.

That new delivery boy from the new store. What was his name? Lance, that was it.

His suspicions weren’t based on anything big. It was the little things that kept adding up to his conclusion. It was the rumors that Lance had a lover working at the Casino were circulating around Gaia at a phenomenal pace. This piece of gossip was very interesting to Gaians as, as far as they knew, everyone in the Casino was taken!

Edmund’s instinctive protectiveness had been upset by these speculations and he began paying more attention to his younger mate. Just the sheer number of visits the duel haired man made to the casino were astonishing, particularly since Edmund had never seen him play and the majority of visits weren’t business related.

Always, he went to Lex first, chatting with him for sometimes hours at Lex’s Token Booth. Small talk with small touches and small blushes. Lance would eventually move on - sometimes to leave, other times to chat up other Gaians but Lex was a constant in his routine.

He tried to reason with himself that the two were just friends and nothing more but his reasoning failed earlier that night.

He had gone to the Casino, a few hours after it’s closing time, knowing it was Lex’s turn to straighten up the place. He was fairly sure he hadn’t been seen but he had saw them.

A small boombox playing soft music off to the side and the two in each other’s arms, swaying to it in the dim light.

Edmund didn’t stay to see more.

Now he was waiting in his home in Durem, staring blankly at the open book in his lap, listening to the sounds of a city at night.

The knock didn’t cause him to start like he feared it would.

“Come in.” He greeted emotionlessly.

Lex entered, smiling in greeting.

“I got your message, Edmund. You wanted to talk to me about something?”
