Welcome one, welcome all to the 12th annual Gaia Spirit Week! GSW is an annual, user-run event made to celebrate our love and community here on Gaia. Each day presents a new theme for dressing up, alongside the weekly raffle and nightly avi contests, and various other events. Everybody is welcome to participate!

Partake in nightly screenies where we spell out our daily themes, create artwork to celebrate the spirit of the season, and possibly win gold/platinum prizes for them!

This annual event equally celebrates and commemorates the hard work our Mods, Admins, Developers, and Artists put in to make Gaia Online the wonderful site and community it is today! Be sure to appreciate and give them love for their all-nighters and overtimes to fix bugs and create events, stories, and more. They are the ones who make Gaia possible!

Nightly screenies will be held each night at 12 A.M. EST in Towns 2.

Varlot was a founding member and moderator of Gaia Spirit Week. Sadly, we lost her in an accident in 2013.
Her friend Raven (l_RavenPandorah_l) helped immortalize her with the "mourning armband".
We keep her spirit alive and with us through Gaia Spirit Week.

Hello Everyone -

During this week in honor of Varlot
I think it would be nice to suggust wearing:

I find that since Varlot is wearing red for durem on her final avatar
and ironically this item has a "v" and it's called the "mourning armband"...
I think it would be nice for us all to wear.

Also, if GSW holds the event like they have done for the past years
I say during that week when you hold the 2013 GSW event ~
that we should wear it as a rememberance as well.

Remember everyone that
Varlot may be gone physically ~ but with us she will never be gone nor' forgotten
and we thank her (as well as everyone else) for all they have done.

✿Obon/Remembrance Day - Inspired by the Japanese 3 day festival obon, today is a day for remembering and commemorating those we've lost. Obon traditionally incorporates offerings for the dead, the lighting of lanterns, and concludes with a dance. Share your love and your memories today!
✿Vegas Day - What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but today we're bringing Vegas to you! A neon oasis where entertainment abounds. Gamble, dance, eat, ride ziplines, or just laze it up at the hotel pool. Show us your glitzy or grimy Vegas outfits!
✿Pet Day - Celebrate our furry, feathery, or scaly friends! What kind of pet would you like to have, or like to be?

The piece de resistance, today we celebrate our class color!
GSW has assigned a specific color for each year to dress up in. Dress your avi and join fellow participants that joined the year you did in screenies and Class Competition!
It's also become traditional (but optional!) to include a rainbow somewhere in class color avatars to represent unity between our classes.
