Check out the new guide heeeeeeeeeeere!

About CAG:
So about a year or so ago I decided to get into art commissions and since then I've ordered from quite a few artists. However, to this day it still amazes me how some artist (albeit VERY good) can sell art pieces in commission auctions for several millions. If you've got that kind of money to piss away then be my guest, but I decided to open the "Cheap Arts Guide" so that people who don't have a handy 87290856mil gold to spend can still get some pretty decent commissions.
For every entry in the Cheap Arts Guide, they are awarded the CAG Approval Stamp:

It is the artist's choice whether or not to display the stamp in their store. Many thanks to [Hyde] and his infinite awesomeness for making this stamp for me!
There are some stores that may display the older CAG stamp which is still a valid.

UPDATES
13.12.08 - Partially open for the time being, I need to hunt for more artists.
21.12.08 - Gone holidaying in Shanghai - back in 2 weeks!
05.01.09 - I'm back! And still only partially open. Will be adding more artists soon.
------ Okay... well I don't have the largest list at the moment, but I think I have a reasonable amount of artists to say that THIS THREAD IS OFFICIALLY OPEN! heart
11.01.09 - Whee, CAG has a new staff member: hpanna47! Tada!
15.02.09 - Oh update time! I'm soooo sorry everyone, I've kind of abandoned the guide here. I'm on my summer holidays at the moment so I'm out/busy pretty often. Honestly though I think the only times I'm really super active is during event periods, so Christmas, Halloween, and etc. Anyway, I'll try and do some updating now and tomorrow if I can. Once again, thanks to everyone who's been keeping the guide alive while I've been away/lazy. heart OHH, and new staff member: Tha Valkyrie Ryu!

HIATUS NOTICE
Sorry to everyone who's been involved in this thread, or who are waiting for more to happen here, but unfortunately I have to put the Guide on a hiatus.
Indeed, I do actually have a life outside of the computer. I'm a full-time university student with long days and a lot of studying/work (plus actual $$-work), and coming on here to do tedious research and typing is something I don't have the patience for at the end of the day; it isn't a big priority.
I'll also be going on my clinical placement away from home for virtually all of May, so internet access might be limited for me.
The only times I'm really alive on Gaia is during event seasons (so Halloween, Christmas, Anniversaries, etc.) and my own vacation periods; these are the time when when I'll most likely re-open and update the guide.
I hope I'll be able to work on this project of mine in the future. Although I might do little updates from time to time, for now this thread is closed. sad

STAFF NEEDED
Every entry takes quite a long time for me to put in; it's pretty tedious work. I just need a couple of people to help me do a few things:
- browse through the art forums and sift out appropriate art stores
- type up the listing in the given format
- bump when possible
Please have some basic knowledge about buying art so that you have a better idea about lower price/ good art. I'll be here reasonably regularly so either post here or PM me.
