I tried about yesterday to write an X based fanfic but it didn't work out and I lost interest. sweatdrop I realized halfway through that I knew virtually nothing about X, having not finished zOMG and being very behind in the plot things...

I think the name "Labtech X" was invented for him by people who bought the green vials off him without knowing who he was, and he just appropriated it for himself since everyone called him that anyway. That's my theory at least 3nodding

I'm betting Johnny called him something else when he was initially created, though I have no idea what it might have been. Maybe he even has an actual name that no one knows except Frank, who knows all of X's darkest secrets.

Knowing Gambino, he probably just named him Johnny II. XP



But maybe when X was going through his angsty phase after Johnny went and abandoned him, he got all upset that he didn't have an identity of his own besides Labtech X, so he went on an epic quest to find a name of his very own besides X, in case he ever managed to have a normal life.
