I think somebody ran off with the whole pre-2008 plot, and nobody can remember it.

I find it amusing that you're saying this in a fanthread for someone who was around in '04.

Well, I meant the staff can't remember it. Obviously we can, or my post would make no sense. Which happens sometimes, but not always.

I think it mostly has to do with the writing staff focusing elsewhere. Perhaps they haven't forgotten, but they don't know how to or don't want to bother shedding some light on older plot points/npc's.

Though I kind of wonder; does NeXus keep tabs on other rival companies? If OmniDrink has been around for as long as the new manga suggests, wouldn't one expect X to have some inkling of the goings-on of it? Or perhaps his influence limited to G-corp related businesses?
And if he doesn't know about OmniDrink's meddling with the undead, how will he react to this new bully on the block? I mean, he isn't quite as much of an arrogant alpha as his "daddy", but I would expect him to be a little miffed about losing his position as top dog in the field.
Then again, all this talk of the undead and ghosts is sounding eerily familiar to a certain zombie event...it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to suggest a tie between NeXus and OmniDrink... confused

I don't know, it just seems like they're not taking it as serious as they once did... Events don't really have plot anymore, they're just mini-games with a light goofy story tacked on. At least we'll always have the good plots like X of the past to reflect back on.

Well this is what happens when you attract a crowd of teenagers who only want more and more items to dress up their avatar in. And while that may be fine by itself, they don't care enough about plot. And they happen to be the majority as more Gaians of the past leave out of disgust.

The plot really does get less and less satisfying as they throw more and more random, unconnected crap into it. It's so frustrating.

I actually did used to write fanfiction but it just seems so pointless now.

@ Lazarus: You're right, honestly it's like the pre 08 plot never happened to most Gaians.
I'm afraid to see X come back, they'd probably butcher the story with fart jokes, innuendo and X at some point would most likely say "That's what she said". Simply because that's all the plot seems to be capable of these days.
