Now you're being an a*****e and attempting to compare apples and oranges. This isn't a malicious joke. It doesn't hurt anyone. We knew full well when we entered that we'd get voted down. But we don't care, and it's our gold.
And now you are flaming. neutral Maybe YOU should calm down a tad?

Which chicken are you anyways...?

I'm not going to say that you're shooting up traffic, but I DO think you're ignoring the fact that your pages of identical avatars are, at best, an inconvenience for the rest of us.

There are 32 identical avatars. Given the pages of spam on Gaia, how is this more of an inconvenience than, say, the whole of Gaia? Why isn't bumping against the rules, then? It's identical and inconvenient! How is it more inconvenient than the people who post their avis in AvA "just 'cuz"?

Is this thread in aid of trying to justify #5's actions?

Nope. This thread is comparing this trend to #5's immoral crap.

Both are not against the present rules.

I think both should be.

They are completely different.

I haven't seen any of the owners of the chicken avatars scamming or bribing anyone, or even telling people to vote for them. Nobody is telling anyone to rate them highly, in fact you'll probably find, most people won't.
Szinriia
neutral I don't see your point. Most of my comments said "10!" last week and I didn't place. People don't tend to post if they don't like an entry...

The most likely scenario is that today people will find it funny, and by the end of the week they will get downvoted to hell...
Refute the earlier points on the first page about fairness to other members of the arena, please. That's also a part of the 'scenario'.

Fun hey? I hear those two kids who got ahold of automatic weaponry and fired it into passing traffic also did that for fun. 3nodding

omg Calmer.

It's like

you've OPENED MY EYES.

SHOOTING STUFF IS THE EXACT SAME AS ENTERING SILLY IDENTICAL AVATARS IN AVA.

LEt'S BEAT PEOPLE UP!

The analogy was to describe that something being 'fun' doesn't always mean it's fun for everyone, and can be disruptive. I think it did that quite accurately.

32 Chicken avatars OUT OF OVER 1000+ entries, don't blame the chickens for dial-up problems. There are so many crappy avatars and rarely any really good ones, the chickens aren't a problem.

Try having to vote low for over 100 entries in a row, then complain about chicken monotomy. xD

None of you are really understanding this are you?

    It's not that serious, really.
There are more then likely 32+ users in the arena wearing only peasant clothing/flame clothing/blocks/etc, the fact that they are not "known" Gaians is what keeps people from making a big rant thread about them.
But who bitches about them? The AvA forum. xD

    AH CRAP, BYE-BYE.

Tipsy Roisterer

You do realise that this isn't even original?

There has been two instance that I can recall of, Jess-clones (amusingly done) and then there were the Death clones... not as many of them but it has been done before.

Why wasn't there mass outrage about those then?.

The Arena every week, without fail, has entries with people wearing nothing more than the default undies... no outrage there. No people are more content with spamming their comments with 'You wasted 1K noob'.

Lets not forget the sexy foxy nurses, or the Evil Angels that are there every damn week in the hundreds. Or the people who cosplay Lugi with a coco on his head gonk

I see this as an attempt to lighten the dark mood that has pervaded the Arena of late.

and before you say anything, no I am not one of the Chicken Men.

I'm perfectly calm. I just call a spade a spade. If he's being one, I say so.

Saying which one I am would ruin the joke. I'll sit on it. Bawk bawk.

Is it really an inconvenience? How is it an inconvenience? Does it get inside your home, eat your food, sleep with your wife?
I'd find that inconvenient.
Seeing chickens everywhere instead of scarfed avatars shouldn't be inconvenient. It is inconvenient, for example, if it takes away someone else's rights, or shatters someone else's dreams. Did you ever dream of NOT finding chickens at the AvA? I surely did not.

Now you're the one comparing apples and oranges. Bumping is against the rules where it would be inconvenient, and you don't have to read it if you don't want to. Here, your avatars are brought to my attention randomly, and without any option to avoid them. I don't mind people posting in there for the hell of it, at least it's a different avatar. I would get just as annoyed if it brought me to the same avatar 32 times.
The world would be a scary place if people took the things you say seriously.

Good thing nobody gives a ********, nein?

Both create a situation that is unjust to other members of the Arena. #5s by the dislocation of high votes to his avatar; these by the points I made in the original post.

That's a fallacy, you're attempting to redefine 'inconvenient' to mean something else entirely. An inconvenience is something that is not convenient, such as having to look at the same page 30-odd times in the AvA.
