If this person is Meili... then they must have a good restraint on their power, since the he is talking about vampires bursting into flames with a snap of a finger. The city seems like a bit of a dump, you'd think a demigod would try to spurs it up a bit, unless they dig that sort of mortal livin' thing.

despite the fact he has more of a mammal theme going on, i would approve. Gaia needs more giant spiders.

and i got the vampire vibe from the eyes. never noticed fangs.

I got a little vampire vibe from the eyes, too. I think someone mentioned fangs somewhere. Though the way he uses "vampires bursting into flame" as an example, I get the feeling he's not one.

Perhaps my original theory of him being some sort of rat god could be more on target. It works quite well with the mamalian theme and the state of this town.

Raccoon could work, too. Hopefully page 23 will show us what he can do... and also establish for certian that this is indeed Meili. We're all quite sure he is, but he hasn't told us and Gino hasn't figured it out, yet.

i suppose he could be some other random demi-god, though that seems unlikely in Gaia's plot. and i don't expect to see him do anything immediately unless they get jumped by vampires next page. well, unless he uses his power to do mundane things.

.... I guess you haven't heard of .... other characters with glowing eye(s) ..... i can mention at least two, that isn't vampires.

It's not so much the glowing, but the eye itself. It's a grey cat-eye(and I know... it could be any other color, really) shared by other known Gaian vampires. Gives the posibility that he's a vampire.

Untill it's outright established in the manga, I'm going to go with him not being a vampire.

Meili has glowing eyes, like vampires, but he hasn't blacks skleras. Vampires who have glowing eyes ("fight mode" ) have blacks skleras too, but not Meili. Vampires in "Normal mode" haven't glowing eyes (their glowing eyes are yellow, not grey). And Meili doesn't like enough elegant/class to be a vampire (all vampires are well-dressed)
My conclusion is Meili isn't a vampire. I would like he is god of cats.
