For Discussion:

In the real world, there are historical and legendary items that people have seached for or even found which hold great significance. Items like the holy graile, the sarcophogus of Tutenkamon and the Ark of the Covanent (Basically anything from an Indiana Jones movie). These artifacts have a way of stirring the imagination with an almost mystical quality.

It seems to me we have the same type of things here on Gaia., super rare items that some only dream of attaining. So, do you think it is this mysteriousness that drives older users to be protective of what they have? In other words, do they wish to keep the mystery alive, by assuring their rarity. Is that why some people are so opposed to rereleasing past MCs, even in the quest system? Or is it just economics and greed?

Oh, and since this is a Kayla topic, you probably knew this was coming...

back on topic...Thats exactly how I pictures the quests would be for rare gaian items.

I think the quests will be a much better and more enjoyable way of fulfilling those quests. I've seen too many become gold obsessed in their efforts for that one great item.

That mysteriousness has to be what drives people to greed.. It's just not rare and expensive anymore if it's actually obtainable, right?

I'd like items to stay rare and hard to obtain. Rareness makes them special. If the items wasn't rare, many people wouldn't want it. :/ Thus ending it's specialness. I don't think it's greed.

I wouldn't mind a halo quest. At long as it's unbelievably difficult and time consuming... As long as the rate people were getting the halos would keep the user/halo ratio the same as it first was or maybe in a certain year like 2005.

some items got sentimental value, others are just plainly hard to get which some of us worked hard for.

im sort a game item whore, i collected almost all types of game items, except for the casino, since i dont have enough gold and time to constantly play for tickets. and same goes for bouquets..

I think it's purely economics.
I am sure there are users out there who want some of the rare 03 items because they actually like them, but I odon't think there is any mysteriousness to them - because we all know these pixels are out there. (We know Tutankhamun's tomb is out there, yes, but not the holy grail and other such items. smile ) But yeah, I understand your comparison, though. Haha

Simply because they are rare, expesnive, and good looking - that's why a lot of users want old 03 items.
