Uh... I wouldn't say the items released in the final months of TinierMe were more visually attractive.
Personally I thought anything that was made for release on TinierMe site first (as opposed to the things just transferred over from @games) was kind of off looking with colors that didn't really work well with many things other than the other Gachas made to be release on TinierMe first.
If I remember right, back when TinierMe closed and a bunch of people from there came here didn't Gaia staff of some sort end up saying that they would never pull that kind of stunt on Gaians?
Now on to these:

I never liked the american version, the japanese is more fair and fun , though I have to use google translate for quests.
TinierMe shut down because parents complained kids wasted too much money on pixels
That's very unlikely the reason why it shut down. Many people on that site were actually adults. I knew a guy who blew just over 5k on the site in total.
Here is the likely explanation for why it closed down:
"The most possible reason is an incident in Japan involving gachas on online game sites, stated that the certain "game mechanics are illegal" because the gachas on websites in Japan (gachas are on other websites in different forms, not only on TinierMe if you didn't already know that) are possibly prompting users to pay extreme fees just to play gachas."

Neither of those is correct. The first one is just silly, as look at all the phone games that encourage people, often children, to spend money.
The second one is also incorrect as TinierMe and @games both ended up changing some of their Gacha play mechanics in order to fit with Japanese laws (the Complete Sheet being a big one, this is also why TinierMe and @games started listing the odds for the items in the Gachas). If they hadn't then NEITHER site would exist anymore. And TinierMe would have closed sooner than it had if that was the reason anyway.
The ultimate speculation ended up being the fact that @games got a new CEO who was reportedly... well... there's no way to sugar coat it, prejudice against Americans, so they terminated the American program. Though it's possible it's not the case.
All I can say is that the first two are absolutely wrong.
Also on that note, if anyone did like TinierMe and would like to play it again... er... sort of... and has an iPhone or Android phone look up CocoPPa. They'll be adding a sister game at the end of this month on iPhone (end of next month on Android) that uses @games sprites and such. No idea how it's going to work exactly and honestly I wouldn't bother spending money on it myself after what happened with TinierMe (I'm not much for paying for things I already had
