This thread contains information about the Kicopot Gold to GC Generators, which includes Golden, Silver, and Bronze.

What are Kicopots?
gaia_crown Kicopots are the first and only gold to GC generators released by Gaia. You can trade a certain amount of gold and get random amounts of Gaia Cash in return.
gaia_crown They are usually sold in Back Alley Bargains for a limited amount of time.
gaia_crown The first Kicopot that was released was the Golden Kicopot, followed by the Bronze Kicopot, and then the Silver Kicopot.
gaia_crown It has also been rereleased with 2 Kicopots in the store at the same time.
gaia_crown The name Kicopot came from 2 of Gaia's cat mascots, Kiki and Coco, plus the word pot which refers to a "pot of gold".
gaia_crown Initially, there were suspicions on the authenticity (Is this too good to be true?) and legality (Is this against the rules?), but was gradually accepted after the official announcement.
gaia_crown Following the Golden Kicopot, the release of Bronze and Silver brought disappointment to a lot of users because the gold price for the two were raised, and the GC winnings were nerfed.

gaia_gaiagold On May 8, around 8 pm, the item Golden Kicopot was silently added to Back Alley Bargains. The few people who noticed this didn't make this info public yet.
gaia_gaiagold By 11pm-12am, it was noticed by this thread owner, and its existence was publicized in this thread.
gaia_gaiagold It's the first gold to GC only generator in Gaia, and it cost 1 billion gold.
gaia_gaiagold The average amount of GC won was around 25 to 35 GC, and the highest reported win was 9,999 GC.
gaia_gaiagold It was soulbound to the user.
gaia_gaiagold Within minutes from the creation of this thread, an announcement came, but it suddenly disappeared within minutes as well.
gaia_gaiagold The Golden Kicopot reportedly lasted for 40 minutes 4 hours, before it hit the cap limit and was removed from the shop around 12:40 am (May 9).
gaia_gaiagold bluealaris commented on this thread that the amount of gold sank was comparable to half of a Loyal's Gate kickstarter.

A: Answered by bluealaris from the ATS on May 11- "Possibly, but it will be released in a different form, with more restrictions."

It actually lasted around 4-5 hours, I think they went into the shop at 8:00 and ended at 12:40, I only knew about it because some girl sold something really cheap in the mp and I asked her why and she said it's because she won 100k from this rig in the Back alley bargains, and bought a win gaia bundle

My original post:

Not sure if this was new, but I was browsing Back Alley Bargains and found this new(?) item called Golden Kicopot. It's worth 1 billion gold, and gives a random amount of Gaia Cash. I tried one, and found out that it's soulbound (cannot be sold in MP). The average GC I got was 35 GC, and the highest I ever got was 199. Within minutes, I got a total of 1500 GC. I don't know how to feel about this because while I feel happy from the amount of GC I got, it just feels too good to be true, to the point that I feel like this is some sort of glitch... Well, it's in back alley bargains, so it screams suspicious.

Edit: So an official announcement just came out to confirm this. It's real.
Edit 2: Ok, so the announcement suddenly disappeared... what the heck is going on?

Congrats to anyone that won GC! This was our first Gold to GC only gen- we capped it to only give out a certain amount and I guess its already reached that point. O _ o

gaia_kittenstar As for me, the bronze kicopot was a huge disappointment compared to the golden one. Just saw the 10B price tag, and read the average GC payout from other users, and went nope, no gens for me today. talk2hand I can only buy 6 at my current gold amount, and I feel that it's not worth the goldsink. The feedback of the users from the release of the first kicopot was favorably good regarding gold to GC gens, but now, it's a complete turnaround. The only hope that I'll harbor is that the third one would have a more reasonable price tag, because there's a gold and now a bronze, there's got to be a silver one as well, right?

I like this a lot... it looks like it's going to be a really good gold sink.

I like this because there are times when I don't have just enough GC to buy certain things. Offers don't tend to work for me either and I don't really enjoy doing surveys. So I have no problems paying a little gold to top up my balance.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this item. I'd love to know how many people're going to utilise it.

Got a lot of 35's and 25's, a handful of 49's and just got 199 now. This is really nice.

Some times I am so close to having enough GC... I want to rip off my own arm and offer it to my monitor.

Maybe this will prove a better alternative.

I'd love to know the amounts it gives out. Or atleast the minimum. Because, like I said, I some times am SO CLOSE to having enough and I don't have much time with Limited Quantity items.

If you are wondering why I don't use the GC offers, some times I exhaust them and still need just one more GC. Seriously, I have actually been in that literally situation of being one Gaia Cash short.

Normal/amount that popped up most was 25 GC
Highest I got was 49 GC.
In total I have 184 GC.

This is actually a really neat way to sink some gold, and a way for people who can't buy GC to avoid having to offer-slave all day long... assuming they have the gold in the first place, at least.

If I recall correctly, there was a question/answer on Ask the Staff concerning turning gold into GC, but that it wouldn't work, or be beneficial, or something (if this is wrong, disregard my post). so they solve it with a RNG?

I am quite pleased with this even though I only tried one so far and got 35 GC from it. I often find myself just shy of getting so-and-so item off of LV, so I think this is quite a nice alternative since I often don't want to fork up 2 dollars just to get <50GC.

On top of that, it's an excellent gold sink!
