Welcome to Gaia! ::

Sparkly Romantic

Like a lot of other people here, I'm also a one-item-only person now.
I used to have duplicates of items I liked but never used more than two of the same items in an outfit so slowly have sold off all my duplicates.

Its sad cause the outfits where I did have mora than one of the same item used for it, I won't be able to re-create.

I also have made a few acceptations to keep duplicates for a few of the older items due to nostalgia and evolving items as there are so many poses with those.

Stubborn Gifter

Depending on the items, I do keep multiples. Reason for that is if I'm doing cosplay where it matches the character while majority of other items either don't exist or barely close to match and the other is if Gaia breaks the poses that are like a set like a background or foreground set.

Specific items like Penultimate Angel i WILL keep multiples of, just because i thoroughly enjoy all it has to offer. Mostly though, i'll only keep one or two of an item. Maybe three.

I don't keep duplicates unless they're cheap (free daily grants for example) and I need more than one pose.

Other than that I use recolors 3 to 7 lol, of the items I like most, most of the time to use their bare leg/arm poses and one for the dress or background...

gloss's Comrade

Hunter

i rarely open rigs, but when i do and i get duplicates of items that i may not like i toss them in the marketplace or send to friends.
if i do get items i want to keep, i tend to only keep one copy and do the same as above, unless i ******** LIKE like it lol.
usually i keep duplicates if i need more than one pose too.

There is no limit to copies of items, for me.
It just comes down to how much of the item I like or want to use. A lot of the main items I collect are associated with a specific color scheme or item series, so having more of said specifics make using them that much easier.

There are even some items that I will collect enough copies to almost be able to use every pose of (or at least every pose I like in the item) examples being: Hopelessly Brittle/Fragile, Nature Finds, and Unconditional/Flower Affliction series items, just to name a few.

Sugary Sweetheart

no I don't, I personally don't like using more than one of the same item in an avatar so I don't see the point in keeping doubles like that

Peaceful Lunatic

I do keep doubles of items, sometimes triples or quadruples.  I think there's even a quintuple set, hah.  But that's for stuff I get from daily freebies and I have no qualms with using a full set.  Recently, I made an avi from four poses of Luxurious Mary to make the full dress because it looks nice together.  And many of the old items weren't done with color schemes in mind, so using multiples of those makes sense.

I have on occasion purchased multiples of newer items if there are poses that just work better like that.  Often, it's a hair with a separate bangs pose because the hair itself isn't shaped how I like.  Sometimes it's two clothing poses because it'd drive me nuts to find a better fit with another item.  Background partials are another reason.

Fandom Superfan

Like many others said...it really depends on the items. Sometimes I like just using the accessories so having more than one helps a lot. And for others, they're items that only have a small handful of that color scheme so I prefer to keep more than one of them so I can use them in an avatar. I try never to keep more than 3 of an item though. sweatdrop

Keoni v8's Queen

Feisty Supermodel

When I got into really trying to make avatars and a bigger invo, I stuck with equipping just one pose from the same item so I never repeat unless it's for changing it's colors (shear/layerable items)
I sell or gift duplicates

unless its a single pose item, I try to keep 2, on some rare cases more

I stick to one item of each type mostly with the exception of some items that come with a bra/undies in the same item e.g. fallen wish.

I also sometimes don't mind having extra copies of vacant light/recolors for the lighting in one and plus some background poses in the others.

3 of one item is too much though so I just try to sell it or donate it.

Depends on the item for me.

Oddly enough most multi-pose items I have just one, when obviously those would be the things that'd make sense to have more than one of. If there's an item I really like, or I know I can utilize multiple poses on, I'll have two or more depending on how many poses I want to use. I have 5 Biancamella from days long gone when I used to wear most of the outfit.

Then there's the pink cat companion type items sweatdrop I've got enough to fill my avatar with each pose of them. So... 7 Rosette Kitten Stars, 6 Pixkit Kindred, and 7 Strawberry Milk Pixie Kittens. I'm sure there's some cute pink kitties I've missed the past few years, been busy with mommy life gonk .

i keep some duplicates on items purely based on laziness but most of the time when making avis i only use doubles on a avatar if it really would look good with 2 poses of the same item but i mostly try to only use singles

if you count recolors then yea? i guess
if not then no

seeing a number next to an item i own makes me....itch lol

i rarely use multiple poses unless its for runway and i usually only try to use small pieces....bc using things as a full set is something i do not like
and again itd be different recolors so maybe legs from one color and eyes from another

layering different recolors can be interesting as well if you can get the layering right
