I don't see the big deal here other than it being a staff account buying a highly expensive item on their safe account. Like I said the other day, you can't really think that a single action would actually affect the whole community's behavior/activity on MP. The MP's graph even show it. The ticket in question made nothing more than a spark on said day, and by the very next day, things has gone back to normal.
Nobody will know the true intent of said actions, since it is nothing more than mere speculation on our parts.
this
if people think what's here constitutes irrefutable proof of intent and gold generating, they need some Sam Waterston in their life. and even if the claims are true, it just doesn't matter. it's a game. people are acting like they uncovered the Iran-Contra affair
lol
It's never just a game like people try to make it out to be.
If it was just a game, people would have left years ago. Games die, Gaia hasn't.
This site is actually important to some and for people to be like "Oh well, it doesn't matter" is complete bs. It's just like when people don't vote in the elections.
IF it TRULY didn't matter to you, you wouldn't even acknowledge the thread to begin with.
To acknowledge something means that you actively have an interest in it.
except not? it takes zero time/effort/cost for me to make a post on gaia. having interest in something and/or acknowledging it doesn't mean that it doesn't matter.
and gaia is just a game. perhaps not the forums as those contain human interaction but the other aspects of the site (especially the marketplace) are a game. if people are using the marketplace as anything other than a game, then that's their issue and I would personally recommend taking a break from the site.
gaia isn't at all equatable to real life situations like elections. it's a game/forum site existing in a virtual space. although many aspects of the economy function in a similar way to the real world, it's not really the same at the end of the day.
