Hello. Welcome to thy Gothic Sanctuary.
Lets start off with a little backround of myself.
To put it simply, I came from a small town. Everyday I saw the same places, people, and did the same thing.. So I became a drifter, drifting from city to city, town to town, meeting new people, seeing new things. And then I stumbled across this abandoned, hollow Gothic Church while venturing the abandoned outskirts of Durem. I knew it was just perfect for me.

As you stand outside of the small, yet tall, sanctuary, facing the front solid stone facade, you see narrow stairs leading up to a large wooden doorway, decorated with intricate patterns. Beside those stairs are gardens of roses, only red roses. A sign posted near the gardens says : 'Do not pick roses!'. You noticed the dark forest surrounding the Sanctuary, which is there for security purposes. There is a sign that says 'Do not enter without authorized personel' in big red letters at the edge of the forest.
As you walk up the stairs and inside, you instantly have your gaze upon the almost ordinary bar directly in front of you, about 10yards away. The shelf organized with many alcoholic drink bottles reflect colorful lights from the numerous candles surrounding the bar. Then you look to your left and right. You see several dark colored sofas and chairs scattered about almost randomly. The walls are decorated with beautiful stained glass windows, but are untouchable by the black prison bars. In the far right corner you see a chair with a guitar on it. It stands out because it also has many candles surrounding it. You look up and down, the ceiling and floors are decorated with the same intricate patterns as you saw on the large wooden doorway. As you look around, you see the whole room is alluminated by candles, and only candles.

A darkness swept around outside the Sanctuary. Ominous black clouds circling overhead as if foretelling of impending disaster. Were Kairu outside, this setting would be all too familiar to him.
The area surrounding the converted church seemed to fade to black, almost as if the Sanctuary had been ripped from one point in existance and planted in another. The occupants iside however, knew not of what was happening, nor would they. On the outside, past the blackness that encircled the building, everything seemed perfectly normal. No dark, swirling clouds, no gusts of wind. The Sanctuary looked as welcoming as ever. That was the idea. Events were now stepping into motion that would scatter aliances, make or break friendships, sever bonds, and ultimately, was a sort of revenge from a time long since past, in a place that for all intents an purposes, never existed.
In the darkness surrounding the church, two cloaked figures stepped forward.
"Is everything going according to plan?" The taller of the two asked, his voice not too deep, yet carried a regality to it, as well as a hint of malicious intent.
"Yes, Master. Those that are close to him will be transported as soon as they enter, everyone else is of little consequence." The shorter one replied, his voice soft, yet dark. Very familiar in a sense.
"Excellent, Cyrus. Let the games begin..." The apparent Master said, both their forms fading back into the darkness once more.
Inside the Sanctuary, Kairu's head jerked up, his bottle of water falling to the floor as he stood quickly from his chair, his hooded eyes scanning around frantically as he turned about, looking around him carefully. It was only momentary, but he could swear he felt a ghost from his past right beside him.
A familar memory flowed into Kairu's mind, a voice from his past, filling him with both dread and aprehension.
"And the tale begins.
A 'hero' fallen.
A life saved.
A death repaid.
A love lost.
The game begins anew, and all the pieces are set. The players take their roles and the scene begins..."
Darkness surrounded Kairu, enveloping him like a sheet. In the same time as it happened, it ended, leaving Kairu standing amongst the ruins of an old battlefield. One he remembered very vividly.
"It can't be..." He murmered to himself, his hooded eyes looking around. He stood amidst the ruins of his one time home... The Hunters Guild.
"Kyle... is that really you...?" A voice called to him from behind. The dark clad man turned quickly, his eyes widening under the shadows of the hood.
"D- Doc?" Kairu asked in disbelief. Leaning against a collapsed portion of the wrecked building lay a silver-haired man, about his mid to late thirties. A deep wound in his chest, blood sokaing his normally gray shirt dark crimson.
Kairu rushed over to the man, a tear streaking down his cheek from under the hood. "Oh god, Doc... This can't be possible..." He said softly, his voice shaking.
Doc laughed softly, coughing up blood moments later, "What isn't possible, my friend...?"
Kairu's head lowered, the tears dropping to the scorched earth, almost instantly being swallowed by the thirsty land. "I watched you die, Doc... I watched Nevisus stab his sword through your chest..." He replied, on the verge of breaking down.
"Why did you abandon us, Kai...? Why did you let Miranda and Robert die...? We were your family... You were my brother... why did you let us die?" Doc asked, his voice saddened, shallow.
Kairu's head shot up, the tears flowing freely down his face from under the hood. "I didn't abandon you! I did everything I could to save each of you..." He said, his head slowly lowering again. "But I wasn't strong enough... Nevisus knocked me out with a single blow... When I woke up... The Hunters Guild, and all of you... were gone..." He finished, suddenly feeling very weak.
The dark clad man suddenly found himself skidding across the ground, slamming into the shattered remains of a wall, causing it to collapse forward. Kairu rolled off to the side and sat up, his right hand coming up to wipe the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand.
"You were never strong enough!" Doc yelled, his face twisting into a dark scowl as he stood after backhanding Kairu. "You've always been weak and pathetic. Ever since that day I found you and that whore of yours collapsed in the wastelands. Why I ever took the two of you in is beyond me. I knew from the start you'd be trouble, boy. And now look!" He continued, his hands motioning out around them.
"Reduced to ashes. Everything that you ever cared for, you let be destroyed." The silver-haired man growled at Kairu through tightly clenched teeth, blood still seeping from the corner of his mouth.
Kairu stood, still slightly dazed from the blow. For a ghost, he sure hit like a damn truck. This couldn't be real, it just wasn't possible, was it?
"I don't know who you are... But you're not Doc... He would never have said such things. He knew I did everything I could. I tried to save them, I would have died for them..." Kairu responded, his voice on the brink of rage.
The middle-aged man let out a laugh. "So, it seems the game is up. Very well, I hate looking like this anyway... so out of character." He replied with an evil smirk.
Doc's features twisted, transforming, changing into someone else. Kairu watched the change, his fists tightening to the extent that his nails pierced the flesh of his palms the more he recognized the figure coming into shape.
"Cyrus... I killed you." The hooded man said coldly, darkly.
Standing before him now was a miror image of Kairu himself, a genetic clone of him. Cyrus.
"Indeed you did, brother... But as you may have noticed, that has been remedied." Cyrus retorted with a evil chuckle.
Kairu crossed his arms over his chest, "Y'know, you looked a lot better without your head attached."
The twin grinned, "Yes well, the same could be said for you too, Kai... since it's technically 'our' head, y'know... being twins and all."
"Nah, I was always the better looking one. Nothing can beat the 'real deal', especially not some cheap carbon copy." Kairu replied, smirking from under the hood. "Now, rather than ask just how you came back, I'll just ask why you've brought me here. If it's to kill me, that is very unlikely since I royally whipped your a** back when I killed you."
Cyrus smirked as he slowly walked in a large circle around Kairu. "Well, five-hundred years is a long time, Kai... You'd be amazed at what one can learn in that span of time. Especially since where I was, time doesn't exist." He said, stopping his circular walk once he faced Kairu again.
"Besides... it's not quite time for us to settle the score yet, dear brother. I'm here to give you a message; And the tale begins. A 'hero' fallen. A life saved. A death repaid. A love lost. Kairu's heart jumped up into his throat. His friends were in danger, grave danger. His dark brown covered eyes looked around him once more.
"I will not fail this time..." Came his silent thoughts as he hurried off into the distance. He had to find his friends, his new 'family', and quickly.
((Ok, this is going to be a rather expansive, in-depth RP for the Sanctuary, as accepted by Miss Tsei. Those of you that are regulars here, Tsei, Kinu, Solace, Raven, Rantoba, UB, Krow, Aken, Lotus, and possibly any others I may have forgotten, should you decide to participate, as soon as you enter the Sanctuary, you will be transported to a place from your characters past, a very painful place from it. Your intros should contain some background on your character and what has happened in this particular time that you are reliving. Once done, I'll most likely be PMing each of you, or getting ahold of you through AIM to discuss certain things that I will need information on about what you've posted to get an accurate idea of how to interact with your character in these situations. Mind you, your character will be alone at the start of this and in time all of us will slowly find each other (you can meet up with whoever you wish as you go, but not too quickly (aka, Intro post-Meeting with Kinu, none of that, I would like for this to expand at least two or three posts from each player before you meet up with others, as it'll make te story flow much easier as well as give us all some personal one on one time.))
