Welcome to Gaia! ::

(I'm hereeeee~!
...
Is Elizabeth still here?)
Taking a step in, she felt a whimsical air blow out when she opened the door. Forced by Hiro, her brother, to find a job, because he was sick of forking out money for her lunch, Lila nodded and went on her way. Finding out this place was right across the street from Saint Catharines, she felt it was far enough, and started going.
Now there, she felt compulsive, wanting to make sure her sweet tooth got something or another. Taking another quick step in, she closed the door behind her, and looked for anyone who looked like an employee, who could tell her whether the application was good enough or not.

Hearing a door open somwhere, Elizabeth excused herself to Shin and set down the salt-shaker, following the sound. She felt a light breeze blowing past her, and turned toward the lobby. Seeing a newcomer there, she greeted her.
"Hi, welcome to Strawberry Bliss!" she said tentatively, still not quite sure how to greet people alone.
[Ooc: Oh gawd. gonk I need help here! Calling for back-up! I'm only a gardener; I'm supposed to work outside!
"Hi there!" Waving happily back, Lila went up to the sweets showcase, in total awe. "I was just wondering about the pending status of my application, but you aren't the manager, so..." Moving over towards the cakes, she felt a little more hungry, but, alas, had no money to spend.
She hated to be a workless teenager.

"Ah, sorry, our manager is gone at the moment. I'm only a gardener, as you know, so..." she trailed off when she saw the voracious look on the young girl's face.
"Would you like a lollipop?" she asked suddenly, employing her trademark move. She raised her arm élégamment so that the layer of wrapped lollipops hidden in her sleeve was revealed, and stretched out her hand invitingly.
Looking at her sleeves, she then looked back down at her feet, in pitiful shame, "'Fraid I can't. I don't have enough to buy one..." Biting her index finger nail, she started to nibble it off, even though her brother told her not to do that, since nails tasted bad.
Well, they tasted even worse with polish on.

Marshmallow

"No, don't worry. This is my personal stash." She grinned, and held out a strawberry lollipop. "I made them myself, so they're mine," she said."Here, take one." She shoved it into the girl's hand and closed it.
Hesitantly, she nodded. Taking candy from strangers wasn't the best idea, but she wasn't complaining. Well, in a way she was, but, whatever. Sliding the heart shaped lolli into her mouth, she closed her lips around the thin stick, and nodded, now less hesitantly. It was tasty, for sure. Taking it out of her mouth for a minute, she looked up, "What did you flavor it with?"

Marshmallow

Elizabeth began cackling wickedly at the girl's question. "Why, the blood of young girls, of course! Where else would you be able to get such a sweet flavor?" Then she stopped all of a sudden. "No, just kidding. It's a trade secret." She winked, and brought out her own cherry lollipop.
"So you want to work here?" she asked curiously, then paused, embarrassed. "Oh, I left my manners behind my knee again. My name is Elizabeth Rubine. What's yours?" She winked.
Eyes widened for a moment, she then dropped her eyebrows after she heard it was a secret, "Okay.." Waiting to hear the next part, she nodded, "Yeah, I would like to work here as a waitress. And, i'm Lila Suzuki-Evans. The name's a long story.. Heh. 'Manners behind the knee'?"

Marshmallow

Elizabeth sighed in relief. "That's good. We need more people here. Astrum worked her feet off trying to serve all the customers, and in her absence, I've been bumbling my way around for each customer. The garden's a mess all over again, now that I haven't time to take care of it as I used to." She gestured outside. "Oh, yeah. I'm the gardener here. As you may have noticed, greeting and serving people isn't my usual job, and it rather puts me off my beat." She frowned, sucking worriedly at her lollipop. "And it's not like I can cook, either..."
Seeing Lila's confused face at her earlier remark, Elizabeth smiled kindly. "Well, they've got to be somewhere when you lose them, right?"
"Ah... Well... Okay... Astrum?" Taking a seat, she looked out the windows, at the garden, and noticed that they did look a little off, appearance wise. "They still look fine... Uhm.. I could work as a temporary server, I suppose? I mean, would that be alright? Tapping her chin, she hoped that Elizabeth knew she was only looking for help, not smuggling her way into working here.
((Awkward Lila is Awkward))

[Ooc: xD So sorry. My roleplay skills are so crappy right now, for some reason. The creative wells have dried up yet again.]
"Oh yeah, Astrum Luna's the owner of Strawberry Bliss." She glanced out the window, and shook her head in distress. "They're definitely not up to standards. I have to fix them. They bother the essence of my soul!" She clutched at her heart jokingly. "Oh, the anguish!"
Then she sobered up. "We do need the help around here, but I can't actually pay you. I'm only a gardener here, and a newer employee at that. I have no authority here. I'm very sorry." She hung her head, geniunely unhappy at the loss of a new friend and colleague and relief from her duties.
[Ooc: Edit: Ah well, let's get some sleep now.]

Marshmallow

[Ooc: Oi kids! Where the unagi are you?!]
Elizabeth sighed, sitting at a table in the cafe. She popped the top off her can of root beer, which was sweating cold drops of water and dangerously approaching lukewarm tempature. She rolled up the long red silk sleeves of her butterfly-embroidered kimono, causing her left sleeve to emit crackling noises, before she picked up her soda again. She raised it her lips, holding it poised to drink.

Marshmallow

[Ooc: Why won't anyone roleplay here?! D< Don't think I don't see you! Like, Gotcha!]
