Finally, after a day...or two, Horo finally came too with a quiet groan. At first she had no idea where the hell she was, but after regaining her senses she realized she was in her room at the Quill, but she was on the floor.Blinking she looked around slowly, tiredly, then cringed as she felt a dead weight resting across her back.Turning her head to see what it was her scarlet hues widened in silent horror as she saw a...naked man laying next to her.Her first instinct was to scream and poison him, but a sudden wave of memories crashed down upon her and she stopped. She remembered who it was; Mathius. She had brought him back, thanks to Geist and her spiritual abilities.

The wolfish women lay there for a few moments, quiet and still as not to awaken the slumbering lycan hybrid at her side. Then, after a few moments she wiggled out from under his arm.Once free she knelt there at his side, biting her bottom lip as she tried to figure out what to do next. Then, feeling how stiff and sore her body was from laying on the floor for almost two days she cringed and stretched her back

                                                      'What should i do...?'

Horo thought while returning her focus to the nude Mathius before her.She didn't want to leave him on the foor like that, she also didn't want to leave his side. She remembered the look of utter despair on his face when she told him how long he had been gone, and that Star hadn't tried to save him.She never wanted to see such a look in his eyes again, like his entire world had crumbled around him.
With a sigh Horo pushed her rusty, light brown hair out of her face, then gently rolled Mathius onto his back, quickly covering his body with a blanket to his naked body from sight, a faint pink color creeping across her face as she did.

With that done she sat herself next to him, hugging her knees closely to her chest as she waited quietly for him to wake up.

That strange girl hanging off Antony's arm, that foreign presence that had nearly attacked the bartender, that thing that had been a nag in the back of his head almost since his arrival. No, no trust, none at all, not around Taryn. If he'd been strong enough to deal with her when he'd first seen her skulking around the Quill, he would have. The blood hanging in the air began to arrange around him and Xik like a shield, droplets connecting in long spindly thread that hung there, charged with spiritual power.

"If you want to do good, then leave." His voice was harsh, but his hold on Xik was firm and he wasn't going to let her go. Hearing her murmur an apology to him, his eyes flashed down briefly, the motion difficult to catch because of the white layer that looked like it should have blinded him. He hadn't liked feeling her turn so far to speak to that thing, but as she came back to him Kastra held on.

Horo did not have to wait long. While she did, however, Mathius felt he was still trapped in the world beyond. His dreams were filled with shouts of anguish and pain, shouts from his own lips, as he thought that she too had abandoned him. Could he really blame her if she did, though? What worth was a man who had already lost his own life.

Mathius' dreams were troubled, yet he could not wake up. It was as though he did not remember how to wake up. But when Horo turned him over, he finally felt the dreams begin to subside.

The young hybrid stirred. He groaned. Then he sat bolt upright, his knuckles looking like they were made of ivory as he gripped the blanket and his eyes wild with anger and fear. A throaty shout echoed off of the walls and was loud enough even to harm his hearing, although he knew Horo's was better than his because she had the actual canine ears.

The light seemed too bright for his eyes. He clutched his face, covering them, fearing he might go blind if he kept them open. His body shook as he woke from the terror of his dreams, still foggy and unsure of where he was, not even awair that he was naked. Although he did feel a presence beside him and he did smell a familiar, comforting scent. This helped to keep him from panicking further, although he was also unawair that his fingernail-like claws had cut deep furrows in her blanket.

"But you aren't giving him any space," the girl pointed out, her tone seeming truly confused, though there was a slight smirk on her lips.

He watched what he did with the blood, somewhat facinated. It was a little different from anything she'd seen previously. Taking another step forward, her expression changed to a slight pout, and she said, "I wanted to help, but they wouldn't let me. They wouldn't even look at me."

Of course, he hadn't been around for that. What she spoke of was another, earlier time, when that same pregnant woman had been dying, and none had acknowledged her persistant request to help out somehow. She hadn't been turned away, just utterly ignored.

Aili drank the sake with glee. "Meow! Now back to business!" Jumping back behind her stall, she sat down and waved her hand in the air like a fortune cat.

Shiro watched on, annoyed by the cat. The apprehension that something would happen cause of the cat was gone, now replaced by the careful calculated ways in how to blow the nekomata into next week without doing too much damage to the tavern.

As Horo sat there next to Mathius it suddenly occurred to her that he might panic when he came too.She blinked and was about to look at him, but just as she did he had bolted up into a sitting position and screamed. With a yelp Horo's hands flew up to cover her ears in an attempt to protect them from the loud sound. She then quickly got on her knees and looked at Mathius before wrapping her arms around his neck in an attempt to rest his head on her chest, hoping to calm him down

"Mathius, it's alright, I'm right here..."

Horo whispered softly, trying to calm him down. She didn't know if she was helping any, but she continued to try to soothe him, combing her long, slender fingers through his hair gently.

'Why does it always have to be cats,' Ingram thought with a slight twitch as she glanced over at the very noisy cat girl.

"Ne, you think we should get some food?" Bel asked, lightly tapping on the table as she watched Aili's antics.

Unlike Pet or Ingram, she honestly didn't mind cats, with Velkyn's help she even managed to remember that yes one of the people who'd gone through that harem ritual with herself, Fen and Kisei had actually ended up having a cat form. She didn't remember much about that person, having not been close to them when the ritual had started, and as far as she knew that person was probably still convinced that they were that animal.

Everyday's new.

Seeing the effect, she looked around, watching the sheild around them form. She had been startled by it at first, not knowing what it had been until she really looked around and realized what it was. She relaxed at first then tensed and reached back behind her, stretching in an uncomfortable way, and touched his bleeding hand with a frown.

Gently prying it from her but letting him keep his focus on the sheild if he wanted to, she breathed over it, the Silver mist, and was content to watch it slowly stitch itself back together as if it never happened. It would take a good hour for it to be completely gone, but the top layers yould heal over first so he wasnt bleeding anymore.

Only then after she had done that, would she let him put his arm back, content then, but curious.

Whatever the girl had done, Kastra treated her with a bad reaction, suggesting maybe she wasnt as innocent as she seemed, but she would keep an open mind on things for now.

"This doesn't concern you, spirit, now move along." He said sharply, but was interrupted from whatever else he might have said as Xik removed his hand from her back, the Necromancer's white eyes watching in confusion as she healed the skin. He understood why she did it, but at the same time now he no longer had a supply of blood to feed the web or runes and signs he'd been building between them and the shadeling.

"She's the one I need to speak to, and I don't want any separation. Just go back and find that bouncer you're always haunting beside! I'm sure you've still got plenty of screwing to do with his head!" Kastra had no idea what had happened the night before up on the roof, but he made the comment anyways and hoped she'd finally go off and find someone else to harass.
Mathius tensed up visibly as she put her arms around him and resisted briefly. Her scent was comforting, a relic of his life before the darkness. It was something his subconcious clung to as if for dear life. Unable and unwilling to resist her, he leaned as she directed him.

"Why isn't Star here," he whispered. Although a little imp in his mind whispered reasons she would have abandoned him. There was another voice in his mind, this one his ruthlessly chiding him for his cowardly and childish actions right now. He didn't care too much, however. He had been dead for seven years.

That, he figured, gave him a pass for showing weakness just right now.

"Horo, where is she?"

"Meow! Now I wonder where did Mr. Pompous Paladin went, meow...." Aili said, somewhat disappointed. She sighed but then banged on the stall. "No matter meow! Come on one and all meow! If you want or need it, I've most certainly got it and selling it meow! Caterwaul, your favorite friendly store meow!"

Shiro closed her eyes. The time to strike is soon.... I can sense the tension in the air.... Might as well preempt and end this quickly....

When Mathius resisted her embrace at first Horo didn't let go.When he finally stopped resisting and rested his head on her chest she relaxed and continued combing her fingers through his hair slowly.Hearing the question he asked she winced and closed her eyes as her ears drooped against her head momentarily. She didn't know how to answer that question, she had no idea where the hell Star had disappeared to, it angered her that she abandoned Mathus like that, did she have any idea how lucky she was to have someone as loyal, strong and kind as Mathius at her side?

                                                      "I...i don't know, Mathius.I'm sorry..."

She felt like she was failing him somehow, was bringing him back going to prove to be more painful for him then staying in the afterlife? Had she done the wrong thing?

"Spirit?" she questioned, her eyebrows rasing. Spectre, ghost, demon... she'd been called many things, some more correct than others. She giggled.

"He's still sleeping. A dear friend watches. Besides, it's nothing compared to what he did to me." Her head tilted, her face filled with amused curiosity. "How do you see me?"

A strange, question, perhaps, and one with more than one meaning in the words. Mostly, she was curious how he recognized her. It wasn't that no one else had; it seemed the three Bels were able to, and somehow Magnus had. She had yet to figure out how that was, though, and the man refused to tell her.

With each 'meow' coming from the Aili Ingram's twitches came faster.

'This is madness...'

"Probably wouldn't be so bad if she was going 'nya' hmm?" Bel asked with a light giggle, which prompted a one eyed glare from Ingram, making Bel start laughing somewhat.

"I might go over, would rather wait and see if there's anything more interesting though," Bel mused, tapping her nose in thought as she debated over what to do.

Spirit? Is that why she had no particular scent to her? Xik sighed softly, yawned and wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning up and gently nuzzled against his neck before stepping back a moment, sneezed and looked up. She hadnt meant to sneeze, but something in the air set her nose off, and she sneezed once more, or twice.. Three times? That's crazy.

Letting out a growl of frustration, she held her nose as she felt another, held it in and winced as where she had gotten stabbed the other day, cracked viciously. The bone had been repairing the very last fissure, but holding a sneeze in puts a great amount of pressure on your lungs and they push against your ribcage, thus pushing into that small fissure and cracking it again.

holding her side momentarily, she pulled in a breathe, used an internal Silvermist and relaxed as it went to work, seeming better already as it nulled the pain a little.

But she couldnt help but look at the creature, so she liked getting in people's heads? Ofcoarse, hearing her comment was an interesting one. Things were beginning to circle around in her head. And just when she had become content and pushed all her other problems away! For Mother Luna's sake! She could used a drink. Where was the Scotch she just whipped away?
