Welcome to Fal'lain: Former Elven Nation of Old Magic and Celts. (Now Part of the Gaia Mainstream multiverse!)

Once an ancient city in the nestled forest of the Great White Trees, now a bustling nation consisting of not only those of the Elven variety but many other races as well. Where battlefields were, stands towns with the most modern technology just inside the Gaia Highlands area outside of Main Gaia Primus.

Access is available to everyone and with good reasons. With new people bring new ideas to the main commerce of the area: Technology. If you have an idea, bring it and it will be made whole in your hands.

A bustling place of inns, bars and shops, there is always something to do in Fal'lain and it isn't limited to the modern joys. Along the booming nation, running along the border is the Glencoe River where water activities vary.

Come.

Stay.

And leave if you want.

To Visitors/Guests of Fal'lain: As much as this says 'Elven' that's just the origins of the area. You can be whatever your creative mind wants within this thread. A while back there was this whole craze of 'vampires only' or 'certain breed' only in Gaia…which is extremely annoying. I find that restricting a thread to only those types of role-players is just disappointing and needed to die. So be whatever you want, this is an open, welcoming place to be. Have fun.

Basic Rules

arrow Follow Gaia TOS. It's what they're there for and it's to keep everyone safe, happy and ban-free.

arrow Keep things to at least the mid PG-13 range. This encompasses the following: Things of sexual nature, gore and general language.

Sexual Nature: Refers to anything between two characters (m/f, f/f, m/m) that is..well…naughty. As much as a good romp between the sheets is fun, please put the black curtain of censorship or Time Warp your way back into reality.

Gore: Feel free to go Jason, Freddy Kruger and whatnot on people but keep it to a limit. Remember: There are kids that go on this site too. In light of that, black curtain some stuff, leave it vague enough so people can get it at least.

General Language: This is a literate thread and dialogue is key in making contact between two characters. If your character has a very rowdy, vulgar kind of dialect do so, but don't go splattering s**t all over the ******** walls. Get it?

arrow Respect other role-players. Yes, Even the n00bs. I know you can write 100 paragraphs with near perfect grammar, but they don't understand crap at this point in their internet history. If you can, help them. If you can't, move on. Don't make angry n00b angrier.

arrow As in above, respect other RPers, which means ASKING before you KILL them. This is an annoying rule and interrupts the flow but it's fair. People work hard on their characters and should be allowed to make that decision.

arrow This is a walk-in RP, I don't expect profiles or uber-super-special formatting for it but if you want to put a profile up, I'll make it so Sulu. If you want pictures, go right a head.

arrow Plots: This is an open thread, but once in a while there will be plots that can encompass a whole group. Plots are appreciated and if you want something that may affect the city in whole, please PM me. Fal'lain is my baby.

arrow Genre: This is a fantasy RP based in Modern times. So yes, there are cars, motorcycles, powerboats, etc as well as cellphones, MP3 players and the like. However, if you like your pony…there is pony parking. Assassin with guns? Fine. Heavy Hardcore Scotsman wielding a battle axe and claymore? Go right ahead. All are welcome.

arrow The World Wide Web of Gaia: Gaia is made up of many threads and forums. If you're character comes from another area and brings trouble with them, then trouble is accepted! If you're coming for a visit, do so. There are plenty of main meeting places within the Fal'lain area (which will be written out down below) that you can meet your fellow RP-ers at.

arrow Literacy: One Word: LITERATE. However, for those seeking to better themselves, this place can be a practice ground for n00bery if so needed.

arrow Profiles: I don't need them, I don't want to see them posted on here either. I will make a separate thread if need be so you can post it so others may see it.


arrow Under Management: Fal'lain, like any other city, has problems with destructiveness within the members of the community. If you blow up a building, so be it but know that it is a city and it will be fixed. However, if it will make for an effective PLOT for the thread, then yes, go right ahead but otherwise will be fixed.

arrow OOC: Keep it to a minimum of 4 quoted posts (meaning two people get one tower but there can be only 4 posts to that tower). I will make a separate OOC thread. Fal'lain OOC

Law of Fal'lain

The general law and authority of Fal'lain is by the Fëaorne family, or the Royal Family. In case of minor crimes, the Court takes care of it though hefty crimes are judged by the current monarch and the entirety of the family as well. General laws of Fal'lain:

-All be tried on equal grounds
-Theft is a necessity to survive but not permitted.
-Crimes of the nation are tried by death, others by jailing.

Any laws broken will not always be taken care of, so keep an eye out for the local authorities.

The Area Entirety

Fal'lain is built within the thick forest of the Grand White Trees in which the species of tree grow tall and wide enough that they can be carved into and remain able to grow through the centuries. The Deeper within the city you go, the bigger the trees get and the grandest of the trees is home to the Fëaorne family, otherwise known as the 'Palace'. Other homes are built within the open areas available when trees that had grown too old had been severed down to be made into homes, office buildings, etc. Basically, a city made of trees and modern materials. As you move from the highlands to the Royal District, the cluster of homes moves from thick in the downtown to thinned out as you get closer to the Palace.





The Highlands

-Before you enter Fal'lain, you walk through the Highland area which is a series of mountains with a river flowing through it called the Glencoe. During times of the year, the hills turn purple with the local heather, a purple plant. Fal'lain brews a heather ale with this plant in it.




Downtown

-The Early Brigand--A bar and inn run by the half elf, Eledir in the downtown area. Built within the confounds of a massive white tree.

-Hodgepodge's--The Everything Store. Literally.

-The Lance Battle Arena--Take it to the Battle Arena for Prizes and Champion Rankings




Middle town

-Fae Hotel--A little more upscale place to stay compared to the Early Brigand's tiny rooms.

-Ingrid's Finery--The shop with everyday things, made of higher quality materials.

--Galdrick's World Cuisine--A restaurant specializing in worldly foods at reasonable prices.




Upper Class--The Royal District

-The Enchanta--An aristocratic hotel built inside one of the massive white trees around the Fëaorne Palace.

-The Fëaorne Institute of Technology--A technological institute founded by the former head of the Fëaorne family and retired Queen of Fal'lain.

-Fëaorne Palace--In the massive tree at the border of the city is the Palace of the royal family of the Elven nation of Fal'lain. Protected by a stone and steel gate around it.

Location Descriptions

The Early Brigard -- a local hideaway. Those who have lived in the city longest know it as the crawling grounds of the local beggars, thieves and mercenaries that pass through the city. Built primarily of a mix of the wood great white trees and dwarves stone techniques, it's a model of what Fal'lain had been centuries ago. Eledir, the halfling that owns the Brigard, has kept the place intact over the years with his family. Serves the local brew and a variety of worldly mixed drinks to whomever asks.




Hodgepodge's--You name it, they've got it. From armor, to weapons, to every day amenities, Hodgepodge's has it. It's also a used item shop, so any old weapons from the day that are no longer made can be relocated here in the shop. A seller and reseller specialty store but they do not make weapons.




The Lance Battle Arena-- The Battle arena is an open area for those wishing to fight for honor or for the general brawl. Once every month there is a Champion's tournament hosted by the royal family which gives a reward and honorary title to the court. Rewards may range from 1,000g to 10,000g.

The Fae Hotel--The Elven equivalent to a Howard Johnson in Fal'lain. Each room comes with either a single, or double bed. The bedsides ranges from twin, full, queen and King sized beds. Suites will typically have two bedrooms and a common room area. The hotel has a bar area and a free meal during the day for paying customers.




Ingrid's Finery--The finest in the every day man and women's clothing lines. They are not only just limited to every day wear but protective garb as well. The store specializes in the local fabric made in Fal'lain. The great white trees have a moldable quality within it's bark that can be made into fabric or even metal with the right technique.




Galdrick's World Cuisine--Voted one of the best places to eat in Fal'lain. They specialize in making cuisines from all around Gaia from every race conceivably possible. Anything you desire, will be brought to the table whether dead or a live if you prefer it. However, vampiric guests are a little harder to please. If you are of vampiric origins, please refrain from eating the waiters.

The Enchanta--The elegance of elegance in Fal'lain. It's the temporary residence of Lords and those of the upper class or just those fortunate to afford it. Each room is decorated in the medieval style with four poster beds with curtains, dark wood furniture, etc. Anything you need and want is brought to you from the local stores within Fal'lain and outsourced to other areas to Gaia.




The Fëaorne Institute--Founded by the former Queen of Fal'lain and run by the Fëaorne family. Everything that has wires, metal, functions and glows has the Fëaorne crossed swords logo on it. It was originally a company that made replacement parts and limbs for amputees during the Great Highland War three centuries ago but grew into a company that works in a variety of areas of technology and has influence in the world of politics. Many of the products they make include: Computers, portable devices such as music players, computers, portable analyzers, cannons, guns, replicas of ancient bladed weapons. They excel in medical technologies, including many portable medical kits.



Fëaorne Palace-- Residence to the nation's monarch and family. Typically off limits, but on a few occasions, the children of the royal family will issue a pass to certain guests that they deem safe enough to let pass through the gates. Each one of the children has a crest, each different crest representing them. However, during times of high alert or war, the gates will be sealed off to all visitors. If any visitors want to pay a visit to the family whether for certain permissions to change something around the nation's borders.

NPCs (Non-playable Characters)




LIAN --Lian was the former monarch of Fal'lain during the ancient times until she gave up the Elven Light and took on a human form. In doing so, she passed on the leadership position to the Eldest of her Children, Amantis. Wanders around Gaia and who knows, you may have already met her. (Owner's Main RP Character)


AMANTIS-Daughter to the late Lord Deaken of Fal'lain. Amantis is the most serious of the six children of the Court and is often found lurking around the palace halls doing work as the female monarch and figure head.

SHENGO--Son of the demonic alchemist Zeru and eldest male of the children. Shengo is the more reclusive of the siblings because of his over all appearance. Most of his brothers and sisters resemble humans but Shengo's ears and tail stand out from all five of them. Most of the time will be lurking about the city trying to break up or sometimes cause trouble.

YAI--Yai is the son of Hadasuko and Lian, who's origins remain unknown. A quiet man who humbly helps those who ask but fierce in combat and unmatched in speed.

RAI-- Rai is the most cynical and sneaky of all of the children in the family. Mostly, he's off doing an assassination in some foreign country but when he's in Fal'lain, he's guardian to his biological younger sister Rosella and working as the leader of the Fal'lainian army that patrols the area.

ROSELLA--Daughter of the late Lord of Yakuda, Songa Ikariyang and the youngest female of the family. Rosella is the child born from pure sugar vampire and an Elven mother, a halfling of sorts though her strength is equal to that of a full fledged. One of the more forward and friendly of the children, but definitely a handful.

Potential: Alphonse is a deranged, old wizard who is on the run with his self-created daughter Emiliana. The Secret Organization called 'The Elders' are seeking to harvest his power for their own. 'The Elders' are a group of other ancient wizards who want to seek his knowledge on life, power and this world's essence. Alphonse's main goal is to get his 'daughter' to a safe haven away from The Elders.

Side Quest--Granada's Imprisonment
Wrongfully accused of a crime he didn't commit, Granada has spent the past fifteen years in Grande Prison after a long sentencing. A blacksmith, he had made an exceptional piece for a wealthy Baron that ended up accusing him for stealing when he didn't want to have to pay for it and forcing a debt of an impossible amount. The Baron out of the 'kindness of his heart' took in Granada's only child, Delfina, as collateral. Fifteen years later, there has been a string of murders of merchants, officials and out-of-towners. No one has been able to find the bodies or find any connections until a foreign Hunter, Flame, ended up bumping into the Baron's housekeeper.

UPDATE!: The Baron has been murdered along with his entire family at their estate by a demon and the old servant.

Quest: Find the bodies, connect them to the murderer and free Granada.
Reward: New location--Granada's Smithery will open up for business

((I DECLARE THIS OPEN! *bangs gong*))

Yai sat perched on what was an old dilapidated wall from a church that had long since then disbanded. Fal'lain had no religion anymore, and therefore, no holy buildings other than the trees that grew about the forest. This building had once been made of stone with floors of white. Now, it served as his brooding ground. Mother had long since disappeared on another one of her travels, and this time, to the famed 'Sigil' where his future stepfather resided. Not that he didn't approve of having another male in the family...it was just another man. Another man, another year.

Looking out into the Highland landscape that the ruins overlooked, he saw nothing but the blooming purple hills of the summer. Once in a while, there would be a head of hair peeking up from them as children play out in the fields and others harvested it for the brewery's local ale. Beautiful, purple mountain majesties...That was the Gaia Highlands.

He was jealous of Rai every day of his life since the halfling vampire traveled around, but this was home. With the borders open, now all who were curious about the unexplored territories could come into Fal'lain willingly and explore the old cobblestone streets.

"Sitting there like a gargoyle instead of a half Tengu will scare people off, not bring them in."Rai spoke up after having pulled up on his motorcycle, removing his helmet and shaking out the helmet hair that came with it. He had been sent to check on the border and monitor any new arrivals, but it seemed Yai had beaten him to it.


From his perch, Yai looked down to his younger half-brother with a raised eyebrow. Shaking his head, he looked back to the violet landscape. "I'm just watching, I'm not scaring anyone off..."He answered with a despondent sigh, shifting on the crumbling bricks and pushing himself off of the wall to land to his feet with a heavy thud. On the ground now, any observers could see that the difference of height between the two siblings was great, though both were towering six-foot figures on the border of the forest. "Did Ami send you to collect?"

"No...Just to watch the border as usual."Rai sighed, settling the helmet on the bike and leaning against it with his arms crossed over his suited chest.

Jenny stumbled out of the police station, furious that she once again had to take the blame for what that ungrateful b*****d of a boyfriend had done. She figured he was not even worthy of a phone call, so she pulled out her phone and texted him. "Look, I am done dealing with you and all your s***. I've covered for you for the last time" And with that, she slammed her phone into her purse and made her way to her car.

Blasting music in her car calmed her down. She was so proud of that car, it had the latest technology, most of it not even legal yet, and she always kept it waxed and washed. After a short drive through downtown, she parked near The Early Brigand and stopped in for a few beers. The intense smell of alcohol hit her like a wall, and she cringed slightly. She really didn't like beers, or anything with alcohol really, but lately, it's the only thing keeping her from going crazy.

With a sigh, she sat down on a small love seat and took a sip.

Shengo had been making his rounds, trotting around town and checking in on several places. There was nothing really going on since there wasn't really a steady flow of people coming into the newly open borders of the once isolated nation. Pausing a moment, his ears twitched back and forth, turning and watching a car go driving by with blaring music. "Really? Did they have to BLARE it? A dog in another country can hear it."He huffed, soothingly rubbing his right ear.

A drink was in order from his old friend Eledir. Trotting down the street, his geta clopping on the cobblestones as he made his way to the good ole' Early Brigand. Upon entering, he sniffed around and turned his right ear in the direction of where Jenny sat. Normally he wasn't into human women...but a human women who looked to be in a bind did make him a bit curious. Slinking over, his tail swishing side to side, he planted his bottom down on the arm of the couch.

"Soooo....What brings you here to Fal'lain?"He asked, his head tilting.

As she sat, an odd creature walked toward her. He seemed interested in her like a dog to a new toy. She usually didn't talk to new people, but tonight she was feeling like letting it out.

"Uhm...A jerk boyfriend. Angry cops. I had to get away, you know? "
Anger flared in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it. She glanced over at him again, and asked "What's your story?"

"That's terrible..."Shengo tsked, looking up to Eledir, the bartender and waving his hand. A sign that he wanted his usual drink. Moving so he was off the arm and plopped down beside her, he crossed his legs and visibly showed one of his feet some. It was furry and black, the toes wiggling a bit as he got comfortable. "Well...the police here aren't very forgiving...It's the old laws hardwired into them. I take it if you had a run in with them, it must have been a petty crime."He said as he mused on her situation. As for his own, it was quite simple.

"Some musical artist in a nice car came barreling down the street with their music blasted so high, I think I may have burst and ear drum...Alcoholic beverages usually have a very calming affect after a noisy run in like that."He said as he brought his tail around, bringing it so it rested in his black furry palms. "Just look: My tail is far fluffier than it normally is. The hackles still have not smoothed down...See? Feel."He said as he offered the furry appendage for her to touch.

"It actually wasn't me that did that petty crime, but whatever..." She sighed with a sad smile. As he moved to sit next to her, Jenny admired his beautiful fur, but she quickly looked away.

"Musical artist, huh? This is kind of embarrassing, but that was probably me. Don't worry, I don't do it often, only when I'm very angry" Jenny gladly pet his tail, intrigued by its perfect form and smooth hair.

This made Shengo's ears perk. Perhaps he had been mistaken when he heard about 'Angry cops', that she had gotten in trouble. It was made apparent now that this woman's boyfriend had caused the trouble. Shengo's tail twitched under her hand, the halfling smiling. "Do not worry about it at all. It was such a change from the normal quiet of Fal'lain, it just startle me and a few others...It's just a change everyone will have to get accustomed to, unless laws are placed on musical volume."He chuckled.

His sister would never do that. A barmaid brought him his drink, Shengo taking a sip of it and setting it down on the coffee table in front of the couch. "Have you tried the local ale? It's brewed with heather, so it has a bit of a bitter tang to it."He offered to her. "Oh, by all means, I'm not trying to get you drunk! But if you haven't been in the area that long, it's something you must try."
