Newzpop Reporta Tyro Bong
"Yeah yeah...Sure..." Tyro waved off Mana.
She wasn't attempting to be rude to her friend's...uh...What was Mana exactly? Pet? Minion?
"...Thanks, floating thing."
Although the Zurg guest had no intention of appearing rude, Mana puffed up his cheeks in frustration.
He could tolerate poor manners from Dankin, but the fact that Tyro not only waved him away dismissively, she had no idea who he was.
When she opted instead to extend her manners to the new assistant Chompy, he couldn't help but turn his large nose into the air in disgust.
"How rude!", Mana thought to himself.
"Just because the shark is famous, I'm suddenly chopped liver!"
Despite his cuddly demeanor, Mana valued good manners above almost all other things.
Perhaps even pastries.
Arashisora
"Perhaps, you'd like to supervise from over here, Koala?" Ara suggested, mindful to keep the autographed doughnut out of reach of the hovering koala kin.
Mana turned and smiled to Ara. He was glad there was still someone left in the café who actually appreciated him and his hard work.
Moonlight Crystals
Moon quickly realized she felt a bit dehydrated.
"Uhh yes, may I have a cup of match and cold water, please?"
Mana's head then turned again to where the customer Moon was sitting.
She had decided to order a couple of beverages at last and now Mana's duties would have to resume despite the frustration in his heart.
"Dankiiiiiin ~ ", Mana called over.
"One Matcha tea and a water over here please, koala!"
"No problem!", Dankin called back from behind the counter.
He quickly set to work brewing the tea and removed a bottle of cold still water from the fridge beneath the counter.
After he had prepared the cup and layed the bottle along with a fresh glass on a serving tray, he presented the order to Mana who had arrived to collect it.
"Hang in there, bud.", Dankin said to Mana kindly beneath his breath.
And just like that, the small fire in Mana's heart was slightly rekindled thanks to the encouraging words of his master.
He took off carefully with the tray in his paws and delivered the drinks to the table where Moon was seated.
He gave a small bow to her before taking his leave with the now empty serving tray.
[NPC] Mr S. Chompy
Chompy called out, "Mana, dear friend, would you be so kind as to take the lead? I don't want to overwhelm our lovely zurg customer when she's already in such a state."
Mana was now back in the proximity of Tyro and Chompy once more and he heard the shark ask for some assistance with his first table-side order.
Mana liked Chompy, so he decided to oblige his call for aid and take control of the situation.
Luckily he had heard what Tyro had ordered a moment ago; he was nothing if not a diligent waiter.
"Sure Chompy, koala.", he said as he fluttered closer.
"She wanted a peppermint tea, right? We just gotta call that in for Dankin and he'll get it ready, koala. It's as easy as that, koala!"
Mana then turned to Dankin and called out another order.
"Dankin, one pepper--", he started.
"Peppermint tea, coming up!", Dankin interrupted.
"I'm already on it!"
Dankin had been observing Chompy and his progress from a distance and had already begun brewing a cup of peppermint tea for the mint coloured Zurg.
It would seem that Mana was not the only diligent worker in the café.
Mana gave a sigh of relief.
Once Dankin had finished brewing the cup of tea, he carried it with confidence on a saucer and presented it to Tyro at her table personally.
"Here you go, Tyro.", Dankin said with a smile.
"Hope this perks you up a little!" wink
[NPC] Mr S. Chompy
Chompy realized with a start that he had completely lost track of what he was supposed to be doing. "Ahem, boss?" he said, turning back to his mentor, "How do you stay on task when there's always so much afoot?" Chompy seemed genuinely distressed at the thought that he might not have what it takes...
Dankin smiled and gave a nod of understanding to Chompy.
He knew well the hectic and overwhelming nature of working in the service industry.
"It's a rough gig sometimes, Chompy.", Dankin said with a sympathetic grin.
"It's hard to stay on task with so many customers. That's where the perk of working in a coffee shop comes in!"
Unnoticed by Mana, Dankin had also brought a small cup of espresso with him on his journey to Tyro's table.
He offered it out to Chompy.
"This should keep you going!", Dankin said as he placed the shot on an empty table nearby.
"Down the hatch!" biggrin
Dankin then wandered back behind his counter to tidy away some used cups and saucers.
Mana floated where he was and gave a concerned look in Dankin's direction.
He was unsure if it would be folly to feed a shark caffeine.
As Dankin went about cleaning, he heard the bell at the door sound and looked over to see another customer enter.
Oddly enough it was another dishevelled looking young man.
Another injured soldier in fact.
Dankin felt as though he were experiencing déja vu. It was only a few weeks ago that a similar event had occurred in his café and indeed that young soldier and their hound had become frequent visitors as a result of that strange misadventure.
He wondered if people had been confusing his café with some kind of medical centre, but he shrugged off the silly notion and called over to the young man.
"Hey pal, you okay over there?", he shouted over concerned.
