I know how you feel about concentration issues, Sai-kun.

Also, I think the problems with the death penalty for child molesters are big ones.
But I was still amused by the idea.

Oh...its a very interesting article and well researched, indeed, but inevitably when sex and children meet in the news, things are never as simple as people would like to think they are.

The knee jerk reaction is OMG!! BAD!! KILL THE PERVERTS!!!! THEY'RE LESS THAN HUMAN!!

But its not exactly the right sentiment to be passing sound, long-lived and practical laws on...not for the victims, not for the future of the perpetrator, or for the betterment of a community as a whole, either.

The long term effects of the law go out the window, and the dominant ideologies behind passing a law like this go unquestioned...just as long as everybody can pat themselves on the back and reassure themselves that somewhere some big bad pervert is, at least in writing, getting his (or her) just desserts.
You're completely right of course.

But death is funny as long as it isn't real.

A slightly unfortunate truth...fictional death is well...comedy gold.
Yes. I'm rather morbid in a lot of my writings.

But when it comes to actual death, I can't really stomach it.

I got about another page written. So I have 6 pages and I need at least 6 more. Dx
Ouch. When is this due again?

I have a chapbook due tomorrow, but I think I'm in a good place with it. I just have to write one story and do some serious editing on two others. The last three are pretty much done, except for titles. Then I make commentary on it all and maybe pretty it up and I'm done.

Originally it was due last Thursday, but she gave us an extension and it's now due THIS Thursday.

I'd like to finish it today or tomorrow so I can work on the other essays I need to get done.
Well, I wish you luck with that.

This is due sometime tomorrow, though the prof didn't specify when. I'm not too worried.
After this, I have to study for a final, write a memoir or two, and edit another memoir.
So, I'm thinking about going mostly vegitarian. i say mostly, because so long as the meat didn't come from a factory farm i'm ok with it. i'm reading the books i bought on the subject back in middle school the last time i tried this, lol. wish me luck

Good luck!

I couldn't last a week. I gave in and had a big steak by Wednesday.

I've begun phasing out meat out of my diet, mostly this year.
It wasn't really a conscious choice, more than just a shift in preferences and circumstances, so it wasn't particularly arduous.

I no longer have a job for one, and am a very busy student.
Two, I've just found myself preferring lighter foods in general (been having a lot of Japanese and Mediterranean food lately).

I generally feel better for it, though when I get stressed, I usually give in and have something richer, often with meat.

But I've been eating a great deal more whole grains and vegetables and have replaced meat with things like chickpeas, soy and fish.

I doubt I'm ever going to give up eating meat fullstop, I won't deny eating meat if its offered, but no harm in reducing your intake of it.
Good luck with that.

I like meat too much to give it up, unfortunately.

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookies
Appliances Needed: Mixer (or spoon/hands), Oven (maybe toaster oven, too)

Source: www.oceanspray.com

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 6-ounce package Ocean Spray® Craisins® Original Sweetened Dried Cranberries
2/3 cup white chocolate chunks or chips

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Using an electric mixer, beat butter or margarine and sugar together in a medium mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mixing well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt in a separate mixing bowl. Add to butter mixture in several additions, mixing well after each addition. Stir in sweetened dried cranberries and white chocolate chunks.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
Taki, didn't we post the fairy cookies recipe?
