honestly, i've thought about destroying a clinic- i would never hurt anyone, just maybe break in and destroy the equipment.
gonk I thought you were more rational than that.

not if the embryo could not be transferred- it would make abortion illegal due to this loophole. not the epiphany i'm hoping for, but it will work.
No, it would still only be an obsolete procedure. Unless there was law passed granting an embryo the physical rights of a recognized citizen, of any country.
The artificial womb-type would be an alternative to abortion.
You need to take into consideration the efficiency and cost of such procedures. Abortion would still be far cheaper, than these embryonic farmhouses.

It wouldn't be made illegal, until other law granted an embryo/early fetus the rights of personhood. That, in of itself, is the core reason for the continuation of these debates. Not that there aren't any alternatives.

As such, I haven't garnered much from you. As it has been established that you care nothing, for anyone, really, from the way you view these situations. I am less concerned with your opinion, since it lacks any compassion for mother or would-be child, and more with how damaging legislation, granting such things, would be.

But, again, it would only be a new procedure. Nothing about legalities. That's a wholly different part.

but it would be viable- it would be able to survive without aid from a biological mother. thus, according to the unborn persons act, i believe it's called, abortion would be illegal.
I think that its all on oipinion. I have friends who are pro-life (against obortion) and some who just dont care.
Well most of my friends who are pro-life believe that its one opinion also.
It all depends on how you were raised...some what...

My mum is christian, and christians are supposvly pro-life. I was raised jewish on the other hand, and now a peganistic wiccan so I think its all your opinion. I told my mum that if I EVER got pregnant I would abort the fetis.

I realize that people are like "Well why not just have the kid and put it up for adoption?"
Because whats the point? All you get out of it is a bunch of hospital bills, belly fat, pain, and loss in money for buying all the bigger clothes.

I think, though I know its VERY harsh, I don't know these people who cant have children, so why should I go through the pain for a bunnch of strangers when I get nothing back in return?
Also, after the horror stories my mum told me, I never want kids....
My b-day gift to me is getting my tubes tied when 18. I frealize this is a big decision, but I truley cannot handle being around little screaming children who demand every thing in the world.

yes, and until that day comes, i will fight abortion.

And I will continue to fight for the right of women to make that decision for themselves, not to have it taken away from them by people who think their morals speak for all and should encompass all.

i guess not. it's not like i'd hurt anyone, i'd merely cost them money and time...of course, i merely thought about it fleetingly

they made their decision when they chose sex. simple as that.

The UBVA is for wanted pregnancies, that are hit by malicious crimes. Such as the Peterson case. It increases the punishment, for any malicious violence towards pregnant women.
It has little to do with viability, and a lot to do with the mother-to-be.

Even if the embryo is considered viable, there will still be accidents, or faulty equipment.
This is going towards having to consider all sperm and eggs as viable, as well. Since they can already be stored, and used at a later time.

Uh oh, now we're getting close to having to call menstration a crime.

Nothing is that simple. They made the decision to have sex. Unless they were having sex purely for reproductive purposes, they did not decide to become pregnant or to keep it right away. If they decide to keep it, that's fine. If they decide to abort it, that's fine too. But it is their decision to make, not yours.

That doesn't mean that is their only choice.

no. seperately, they are not human. they are half of a human- they contain one half of the neccesary genetic material. and yes, there will be accidents, but that is not the point. it's the fact that it can be done- once it is possible, all embryos would be instantly viable.

"your honor, i chose to point my gun at his head and pull the trigger, but i did not choose for him to die. thus, i am not to be charged for murder- I didn't choose for the bullet to enter his brain, that is an involuntary action."

you see, your argument would be laughed out of court were it put into perspective, were abortion never before heard of.

I think you do not entirely understand the world viable. Viable is being able to survive outside on its own. Until around the fifth month or so, NO fetus is viable. It will still have to have something to offer it sustinence.

but do they really deserve more? this is life, not some sort of video game. there is no reset button on this, you can't undo life- you get one shot, one choice, one chance.

Now you're altering the situation.
A sperm and egg can, with such technology, could easily be joined into an embryo.
Thusly, you would need to protect them as well, since it is so easy to have a viable embryo.

Do not stop short, now, you're on a roll! Soon we could envision outlawing wet dreams!

Also: your court case fails because abortion is not shooting someone with a gun.

-edit- Also: show me a human sperm, or human egg, that isn't human, please.

I disagree. And since you cannot prove me wrong, we're at a standstill.
