Now, I was going to get to your original post, but we'll deal with this one first, yes?
Hayabashi 2
Yes, God did demand procreation. Very much so.
Genesis 1:27-28
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Right. He said be fruitful and increase in number. Know who He was talking to? The ENTIRE SPECIES. You'll note that Paul never had children, yet he was considered to be a devout man of God. The Prophets never had children, Moses never had kids... Every single person in the world did not need to have kids. Just the species of man. If celibacy was a sin, then Catholics would be bung hosed, and the infertile would be in hell.
Hayabashi 2
How do we increase in number? That is God's first commandment to us humans.
Not commandment. General suggestion to the humans.
Hayabashi 2
Let's not forget how God then commanded Noah.
Genesis 9:1
1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
Okay, now note... Who did he say it to? Noah and his kids. Not you. Not me. Not the gay guy a mile away from me.
Hayabashi 2
Here are some verses on how marriage and stuff works, how God wants a man and a woman to love each other in the romantic sense.
Ephesians 5:28
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Ephesians 5:27-29 (in Context) Ephesians 5 (Whole Chapter)
Ephesians 5:33
However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
However, i'm SURE God doesn;t mind it if a man loves another man, because that is love as Jesus had commanded.
The original words were a tad more androgenous. And correct, homosexual love isn't forbidden, as I showed with the verses from 1 John.
Hayabashi 2
Now, about sexual imorality...
Matthew 5:27-30
27"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.'[a] 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Matthew 15:19
19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
Acts 15:29
You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.
Romans 13:13
Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.
1 Corinthians 6:13
"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
I think that's enough.
Quite right. Now... can you tell me what sexual immorality is? I'll give you a hint, and it doesn't start with being homosexual.
Hayabashi 2
Not to mention this verse.
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
The meaning of this verse isn't to condemn homosexuals or thieves, or anyone else for that matter, but to show that SIN, all types of it, cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. BUT! Through Jesus, we can all be forgiven and our sins washed away, NO matter which sin it was.
Unfortunately, as was ALSO covered in the OP, this verse is a mistranslation. Homosexuality is still not a sin.
