I never realized people were so bad at math that they can't remove 7 numbers from the equation. I'm glad you posted this to help all those poor uneducated people but at the same time, I'm sad that people are so uneducated that this needed to be posted in the first place. My faith in humanity continues to dwindle.
Are you aware that there are disabilities such as dyscalculia that aren't correlated at all with IQ or education? Because they're a real thing... I mean, I'm a grad student in statistical learning algorithms but even I think it's pretty closed minded to judge people based off simple mistakes like that.
Heck, I still count on my fingers sometimes because once I started taking math courses above a ~2nd year undergraduate level everything turned into proofs instead of trivial computations.
Simple mistakes can happen with converting in the mind. While some may recheck their steps, others can get confused and make a single digit error which can cause them to massively misprice an item or overestimate the price of something.
A chart is just a helpful reminder of how much something is at a certain level. While a limited level of mathematical skill is still required to "calculate" the actual price a user is looking for, by using this chart they can notice if it's a digit off.
By using a chart you are just playing it safe instead of dangerous. So one can say using a chart is the smart thing to do.
it's also an off amount (7), you can't just cut off at the commas like you could if the conversion was 3, 6, or 9.domokun stargate
That extra zero tends to mess with people. gonk
if it had been cutting six zeroes off, it would be easy for everyone. seven just makes it awkward. and math is literally the only thing i'm good at loldomokun stargate

I actually didn't know that's a thing. Thanks for enlightening me.

I really tried to ignore this, because I am one of those "poor uneducated people" that is not only a visual thinker but bad at math too. (I won't deny that I suck at math, especially conversions) It's not that people are uneducated, it's that our minds don't work in the same way that yours does. Just because my brain is wired differently than yours does not make me (or anyone else for that matter) a "poor uneducated [person]".
This chart for me was extremely helpful as, like I mentioned, I suck at math. I can assure you however, I am educated and well off.
Same, but this person is pissing me off, too. classified_fu Just cause someone isn't good at a certain subject, does not make them uneducated in any way, shape, or form. Sorry, sweetie, just because someone might not be good at math doesn't mean they're stupid. You're just an ignorant snob who thinks so highly of themselves just cause, le gasp, you're good at math!! Do you want a gold star or something?? Sorry I ran out on the last ignorant person. neutral
I should've said "mathematically challenged" my bad sweatdrop
lol @ this person backpedaling and trying to seem less condescending.
Also @OP thanks for the conversion table.
It's really handy.
I wasn't trying to be less condescending. I was trying to be more accurate.
