Last year she made a big deal about staying in touch but never did anything about it. She just wanted me to get a friggen facebook.
I usually have it up when I am on my computer but I don't have a lot of people on it so I don't use it much.

What a stinker!
I think FB is probably popular because it gives since of intimacy by being able to know what people are thinking and doing without actually being close. Which is understandable since socializing is exhausting. You reap the benefits without the actual effort.
Of course, I'm sure people use it to keep in touch too..
