forget the ark
start at the beginning
first, where did all of the mass come from?

Energy. What does that have to do with Evolution?

Quote:
surely you cannot say that those rocks were always there,

Nope, and nobody tries to say that either. What does that have to do with Evolution?

Quote:
second, how could the "big bang" have made everything we see around us? earth, sky, gas, that tiny ball cannot expand into this huge universe

Light elements were probably formed after the big bang, heavier elements formed from the fusion of lighter elements in stars, and dispersed through the death of stars. Our sun is a second-generation star, and all the material in our solar system including the sun and planets and asteroids and Kuiper belt objects came from the previous sun.
Why can't it expand? You're just denying outright reality here. We see evidence that the universe is expanding all the time. To simply state that "it doesn't happen" is ******** stupid.
What does that have to do with Evolution?

Quote:
third, as the scientists put it, where did all of the mass come from?

You already asked that question. What does that have to do with Evolution?

Quote:
it connot come from nothing since everything must "be able to be measured in some way"

The universe today is a closed system. It may not always have been a closed system. The "stuff" that makes up matter may have always been around, too. Who says it came from "nothing?" Not any scientist I know of.
What does that have to do with Evolution?

Quote:
fourth, if you cannot prove where everything came from, then the Bible tells the truth because what makes up everything is uncoprehendable in our minds, for we are merely humans

I call that Argument From Ignorance and False Dilemma.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_Dilemma
One would think you'd be able to see even the simple flaw in your reasoning that, since human minds are fallable, why should we trust the Bible anyway? You have no evidence that it was written or Inspired by God, just human assertions that it was.

Quote:
fifth, if the Bible is true, then God has created everything and everyone

What if it isn't? Again, what does that have to do with Evolution?

Quote:
for those of you who are atheist, why do you curse God if there is no God? why do you so often say Jsesus Christ if you do not believe in Him? why do you say "hell" if you belive that there is no heaven and hell? wouldnt that be contradicting your own words that if there is no God, there is no heaven or hell, there is also no devil, so how can you say that there are ghosts when they are also apart of the idea of God, angels, demons, and satan?

I'm not an atheist, but I think I can clearly show the stupidity of these questions simply by saying that people used to exclaim "BY JOVE!" all the time, despite them probably not believing in Jove.

Quote:
if you have faith, then you will know that you know so little about what created everything

Even people without faith are more than happy to admit this. That's why we still have scientists and philosophers and everything else to help us learn about the world.
let me just say that "the god of the gaps" theory is not a valid aruegment! the theory being that if we dont know exactly what created earth, the it was obviously a god that made it. there is no support for that arguement therefore it is no a valid one. the creation of the world is something that we will just never know and the sooner people can accept that the better off we will be. religion is a theory, just like science. it is an attemped explanation for why we are here. none of them can be proven. I am completely ok not knowing how the world exists, i have a theory but i dont go around saying that it is fact. God creating the earth is not a fact!!

are you kidding? that would be awesome!

imagine having a tail that you could use to hang around with, literally. you could use it to hold your coffee even. that would kick a**.

so many possibilities . . . though most would mainly only be cosmetic, being able to change anything from your hair colour to your built in level of athleticism would be sweet.

Consider all the implications. Identity theft takes on a whole new meaning. Would you like to be the poor clone who is created only so that his organs can be havested for others, Or the clone soldier created en masse to fight in a war?

Wheezing Gekko

Cloning doesn't necessarily involve cloning an entire person.

But, your honor, clearly my killing my clone wasn't murder. It was suicide; and you can't prosecute me for that!

yes but then theres the other part being able to clone a human also means you could clone parts IE stem cells to repair the spine , another lung or two for heavy smokers, new livers or hearts cloning would just be a part of technological evelution....btw darwin was a genious and Im agonistic

get away with that meat-sack mentality of yours, i'm talking body mods, not organ harvesting

Yeah but it's so much more dramatic when you clone and entire person and then just takes his liver away for the original.

cf The Island.

ernie: Evern worse. All the wannabe vampires, and otherkin and furries will get to... gonk
Creationests(sp?) picks through the mass of science theroies and picks ones that benefit there beliefs, doesn't matter if they have been proven wrong or not!

Evolution has evidence, Creationism does not, its not that hard to understand lol

IMO Creationism was disproven back in the 1800's when the earth was discovered to be older then 6,000 years old.....

The last Pope said that religion should expain the spiritual wile science should explain the physical world, as it should be. (I miss that man
crying , very intelligent for the leader of so many religions)

I have a silent deep hatred towards most religions.....they are very personal and many so I don't even want to bring them up (Anybody who wants to discuss are welcome to PM me)

Pardon me for my bad spelling....I've never been able to understand the workings of the English language fully sweatdrop
Life was started on earth!

Life evolved into humans (eventually)!

The logical conclusion of evolution is perfection!

Humans will evolve until we are perfect!

Only Gods can be perfect!

Gods are not controlled by the limits of space and time!

Therefore I consider it a safe bet that human beings created the world, created the human race, and as evolution is the only scientifically proven theory it will be taught to these gods, who will use that method to create the human race. After all weren't humans made in gods image?

It is possible to believe in ID and Evolution/Darwinism at the same time. You just have to included a bit of logic and remember what evolution is all about.

(Of course, if we kill ourselves in some manner then it will have completely disproven my theory, but can you disprove it in another manner.)
By the way, you missed my religion off the poll!

I'm a humanist, I believe that if we are being watched and governed by an omnipotent being (or beings) that they have decended from humans.

I prefer the term Edgeworth Kuiper belt object, or EKBO, as it is more historically accurate. Edgeworth theorised its existance, Kuiper just discovered it.

Why the Bible's creation myth? Why not the ones older than the bible, what about the seven thousand year old creation myths.... sorry, silly me, they're all faked by Satan to confuse us. stare

thats a very interesting theory, the whole humans evolve till we're perfect thing. i never really thought of that. i dont actually really have a theory i belive in, i am content not knowing for now, but i do look forward to the day (if i see it) when it is explained.
