ive read to page 25 and have made it my quest to read all of the pages this thread has all the things ive been feeling before gaia i was on those sites that you can play for free but it sucks because the good stuff you have to pay for then my friend showed me gaia i was in shock you could talk to people no one cared about how you look and everything was free then bam gaia cash came out then people stopped talking to you if you look poor people started cybering in public gaia started having more ads now its like everyday something new is added that might sound good but everything is glitched when are they going to fix the things that matter that ugly green glitch on our avis i have this avi i love so badly but when i turn around its just has this ugly green mess on it people keep getting banned all you see is new people you rarely see old people anymore i have to say gaia let me down alot im not shock to see a new message saying you can play gaia free for 30 days then you have to buy a supcrition (spelling) for 19.95 i can just see that happening soon oh and doesnt this new layout look so boring what happened to the fun layouts sorry for how long it is and any misspelling or bad grammer ><

Who knows what's going to happen? All we can do is wait and see.

I know Gaia isn't exactly the most important thing to fight for, but people fight policy changes at stores, or local law changes etc... Gaia is a pretty decent sized community, for people to say just because it's on the internet it isn't important enough to care about or fight for is a bit silly. Just about everything is on the internet these days. I can order my groceries on the internet, even! Besides that, Gaia does take cash in exchange for goods, virtual or non, and at that point they stopped being a "silly free site that you shouldn't complain about because it's free anyways and you arent entitled to your opinion at all" how some people seem to make it out to be.

Although the admins may not agree with it or the devs or the CEO or whoever, and although the feedback is tough to hear sometimes, feedback is always tough to hear. Gaia does deserve a lot of credit. I tried making an avatar site with my friends and we managed to keep it live for all of 20 minutes before the server broke itself and wouldn't allow us to do anything with it for seemingly no reason at all.
However, the people at Gaia have a lot more experience than me and two of my friends who know zip about computers. And so, even though they do a lot already- once they became a large, public endeavor, and even beyond that, once they became a business... Gaia opened themselves to criticism, and feedback, and all of those things. Thats what happens in communities. The people talk to the smaller group of people in charge to make the changes they want.

I really will never understand how some people can't understand that. Seriously guys, in an age where I can have a fresh pair of socks shipped to my door and maybe even put on my feet for me, something being on 'the internet' doesn't make it meaningless.

Absolutely. Gaia is a part of my life that I care about. It's not at all my entire life, but it's the majority of my internet life.

And I am refering to users like yourself, and all that agree with you. If you tallied up how many items that cost "gaia gold" compared to how many CS items there are, the difference would be staggering.

and why start complaining now about the site having premium "pay" services. Technically the MC's have been providing that since 03 (halo anyone amirite?).

People that complain about a free service that is offered online have no real concept of the outside world. Where EVERYTHING costs money. Free, legal, entertainment is so hard to actually come by. And it just shows a lack of maturity that so many people agree with the OP.

I am feeling a definite teenage angsty "my mother just never ******** gets me! GOD I ******** HATE HOW SHE GIVES ME FREE STUFF!" vibe from this thread. And my opinion is this:

grow the f**k up you bunch of babies and stop using the site if you dont like it anymore. It is after all JUST A ******** WEBSITE.

If you want to tell me that you disagree with my views, that's fine. But you could at least do it maturely instead of saying f**k every sentence.

The difference is staggering is because the EIs and CS items are still new. But they've already released a ton, and there are hundreds more to come, mark my words.

The MCs were different. They were well made and priced fairly. They weren't hard to buy with money or with gold. Now, the best items cost a ton, and a LOT of people out of the states can't get them simply because they have no way to. That isn't very well done at all.

If I go out and buy a CD, is someone going to come to my door after I buy it, and say, "No, you did ____ wrong, and you can't have it anymore!"? No, they aren't. But people invest tons of time and money into this website, and then they turn around and get banned for no reason at all. And they don't even remove the unfair bannings quickly. They don't deal with hacking and scamming reports quickly enough. You're only borrowing the things you pay for from Gaia. And they can take them back whenever they want, whether you follow the rules or not. That's not the way you run a business.

Use your own logic and get out of the thread if you don't like it. You're clearly in the minority here. If you want to say that over 500 people are wrong and being babies, you go ahead and do that, but that's your problem, not mine.

If you want to talk about this like an adult that can calmly and rationally state his opinions, that's fine, I'll be checking this thread all day. Otherwise, just shut up, stop harassing us, and get out of the thread.

I hate deadlines. We all do. And it's not because we're lazy. Trust me, our team has been here till 1am more than I like to admit. I've put in more hours by the end of September than most Americans will through the end of the year. But deadlines don't determine when the game becomes good. So we have two choices:

1. Release an inferior product.
2. Wait and release a better product.

I know that you value quality. You're holding Gaia to a high set of standards (as you should be). I hope you can similarly support putting out a quality game, rather than a quick one.

Those of us who are making the game are working really hard and we hope Gaia continues to pay us. But Gaia can't do that unless there is some means for revenue.

And Battle is free at the core. Sure there are premium items. If that bothers you, don't buy them. The content is all open to you. You can see the whole world, use every ring, collect every item, and do every quest without spending a dime. Personally I think that's a pretty awesome gift to the community. At least that's what drives me to make the game better.

Believe me, we have too few people working on Battle. This is a gigantic project. Anyway, the event team is a totally separate team and none of them have worked on Battle. Okay I just have to comment on this. I'm in like response mode, someone shut me off, lol.

Another dev commented that the Cash Items would be dropped in game as well, though I will assume that those will be rarer drops percentage wise than anything else. I think that would be understandable, but I do hope a balance is reached between those non-cash items and cash items. Though really, please don't make them evolving items because, honestly, I think some people are really overworked in trying to pump out updates (I noticed in Legend's thread that there's one artist who has at least upwards of 5-7 items on his/her plate)

Well, I am sure it won't bother people as much for prenium items, so long as the pricing isn't so ridiculous or it doesn't set playing people from non-playing people aside. If the items just make you look cooler (like some slightly better styles and/or rarer colors) then I guess sit wouldn't bother me. But to make the items in there give you special bonuses or better stats than "regular" items, that might raise a few eyebrows.

I agree with what an earlier poster said about cutting unnecessary features. Like the VJ or whatever it's called. I have found that half of it is spammed by what looks like porn and I have refused to go in there since, as when someone reported it, the mods' response was "well, why are you even looking at it?" And cinimas. How much does it cost for that feature? I can understand IM and it's pretty useful-when it's not bugging up. Having to install another IM thing while in-game is too much of a hassle for me. MTV...

Don't have that there anymore, if you all can help it. Get sponsorships from animes/videos games and things related to anime, like you used to do. Tsubasa, anyone?

But if I must say, you're response do seem to come from an overworked mind so, if you can or are allowed to, take a break or something. Walk outside a bit. I hear that San Jose has better air than down in the Central Valley anyways. xd

BTW, if you want any ideas for events, I'm sure than many user would like to contribute some relating to the plot and/or any others that may strike your fancy. (I myself wouldn't mind giving some ideas)

having been here since '04 myself, I agre completely with every single thing. Gaia's promise to be a free-play site has totally gone against itself, most of any decent items now cost gold and the inflation is just crazy. I barely go to the MP anymore because even the cheapest items are being turned into thousands.

Also if one thing should be added a gifting log would be worthy, I'm tired of being hacked or having joint mules accounted. With the gifting service if someone is hacked and have a large inventory we could see what was taken from us, even if we didn't know it. I lost 3 MC's for an art avi and I don't know who did it. It would save mods PM's and efforts to have a gifting log, then we could just report the user. I don't want to fill out a scamming report that won't be answered for months and by which time I wouldn't get my item back, the user would be able to take more items then I'd have to get 'em all over again, and even then sometimes you don't get any response.

I got hacked recently, reported and sent in a list of items missing. They say "we have no report of any of your items being stolen" I got my account back months later and over half of my inventory was gone.

well written! I too was shocked when a new shop came out that was cash only. I refuse to buy anything for the aquariums. I think some of your ideas were really well thought out and possible to implement with some work.

I understand that gaia has different teams working on different sections, but if one section obviously needs more work than another I don't see why resources and people can't be moved from one to another even if only temporarily. Its a weak excuse for focusing on things that will earn more money and ignoring things that users are willing to put up with if they believe someone is working on the problem. The more time goes on that these things are ignored and continue to get worse the less users will have patience for and many will just leave.
