I welcome you to my giveaway! I love you, just thought you oughta know~ So this is the new home for my giveaway that I started February 4th of 2008. At the time I had gotten bored with my questing, having finished my journey to get Horns of the Demon as well as other items. I found that finishing the quest wasn't what I really wanted- I really wanted to make more friends and help out others with their quests. I had a lot of gold leftover after a large donation from a group of friends and thought that I could give back in my own way.

But I knew I wasn't going to make it my thread a tedious, no-fun thread with tons of forms as I had encountered during my quest. For that reason I decided to hold a giveaway instead of creating a charity, giving what I wanted to who I wanted when I wanted. At first I tried buying the items people were questing but as found myself instead donating large sums of gold to help their large quests.

Eventually, as it seems my mind loves to play tricks on me, I started craving my old dream avatar again. With inflation I knew the journey would be harder this time around but I also knew I didn't want to abandon my giveaway. So I made one of my mules the official mule for my giveaway where I would keep the funds for the giveaway, making sure my personal funds and the giveaway funds didn't mix.

Unfortunately I went thought a period not long ago of my having internet readily available so my funds waned as I wasn't able to make gold but still gave away when I got the chance. I've blurred the lines between personal funds and giveaway funds since then, hoping to supplement enough until I could get back in the game. Right now I'm doing everything I can to make sure the giveaway thrives, thus this new, very pretty thread. Please join us in the festivities!

Otherwise don't bring it up unless someone asks. Also quests put into every post annoys me, please try not to do that.
  
• Mules & Name changes - I view the usage of mules or changing your UN to get repeated donations as dishonest and lazy behavior. You don't have to use these tactics to get more donations- just stick around and have fun! I generally donate quite a few times to people who stay. If you happen to stop by on one of your mules, just tell me and give me the UN of your main account, no harm done.

I'm a total bit of a narcissist so I thought a post ALL about me would be a good addition to the thread. ;D Well let's see... I'm Jalo and you can go ahead and use that to call me. I also answer to Jaja-chan or whatever else creative you can come up with. I come up with weirdly awesome nicknames myself. As for my years here on Gaia I started way back in 2005 but didn't really get huge into Gaia until mid-way through 2006 or so. Here I quest, role play, draw avatar art freebies, chat with friends, play games, hoard gold and now many other items as I've recently become a fan of alchemy.

As far as my life off the computer goes, I was born in October of 1990 to a fiery red-headed momma and my Japanese daddy. I have a brother who's ten years older than me. I currently live in southern Idaho with my mother as my dad passed in 2008. My mother's sexuality as a lesbian has opened my eyes to the LGBTQ community and before moving a little bit ago I was part of a GSA/LGBTQA youth chorus in Seattle, Washington. I made a ton of new friends, had great opportunities just thrown at me like singing at Key Arena and going to Denver for GALA 2012, our chorus being the largest youth chorus to go thanks to many wonderful donors and the hard work of our board members. GALA was a fantastic experience I wish everyone could go to and make many friend like I was able to do, as well as getting to know my chorus members better.

Other than singing my favorite hobbies include playing video games (Fallout, Minecraft, TF2, etc.), crafting, watching stand-up, drawing, baking, watching anime, reading manga, watching horror movies and wishing I could get off my lazy butt to go play a sport or something. The crafts I find myself doing more often are jewelry making and sewing (though I'm terrible and more or less self taught in both). My specialty baked item is chocolate eclairs and I have fun messing with the flavors, like the peppermint bark ones I made this last holiday season. I also have a large array of anime and manga that I enjoy although I'm not very up to date on newer ones as I enjoy my Petshop of Horrors and Blood+ just fine. As for horror my favorite series is hands down SAW- I was hooked after the first one even if they did get crappier and crappier. What can I say, I love Tobin Bell and Cary Elwes! And to top it all off I'm a huge fan of many comedians including Daniel Tosh, Steve Byrne, Russel Peters, Bo Burnham, and Iliza Shlesinger.

Well on the off chance that there's some activity around here when I'm not around I'd like to have some moderators who'd be willing to step in and help enforce the rules as well as help me make important decisions and get to know our potential donatees better. I will use my personal feelings about your qualifications for the job as well as the form to determine if you are right for the position. PM the form to me when you complete it. Please keep in mind the requirements as you think about becoming a moderator.

Requirements:

• Posts - I want a minimum of twenty posts in this thread (or the old one) before you apply. They can't all be bumps.
  
• Availability - I'd like you to be able to moderate at least two times a week for a minimum of half an hour. I understand we all have some other things than Gaia but I need you to be around.
  
• Participation - Get involved! I want to see you in a couple of events or contests before applying, I want to know you're invested in what we do and are familiar with how things work.
  
• Customer Service - You gotta have the right attitude and a willingness to answer questions and be wrong sometimes, nobody's perfect but I want you to be kind and courteous at the same time. This is not the position for a rage-quitter.
  
• Advertising - I like having people in here so I need you to be comfortable advertising. Put a link in your signature or on your profile, recommend this place to acquaintances- I need you to be the poster child for this giveaway.
  
• Management - You need to know how to handle those that inevitably break the rules. I want you to be able to confront those who are being rude and disruptive. Use good judgment in what course of action should be taken if I'm not around and how to assure others that the problem has been taken care of.
