Even though you will find that a lot of people are continuously complaining about the Market Place, (and, hey, I hate what Flynn's Booty has done as well) Gaia still makes
free items for events and other media. And they are pretty sweet!

Avi/Dress up Tips!
-Gaia Events usually give out new clothes or items for your avi.
-You can buy (using Gaia gold) new items/clothes in the
SHOPS.

CrosStitch is an awesome shop filled with user created items. Stein has frequent contests that are open to all users to submit original designs.
-TEKTEK is a great place to make a
DREAM AVI or just look at what items Gaia has to offer.
-If you need help coming up with a TEKTEK idea:
The Dressing Room is a great place to ask other Gaians to help you create a dream avi. You can also TEKTEK other members for the chance to win gold or prizes!
-Once you have a Dream Avi post it in the
Charity Forums! Ask for gold...or ask for a specific item. Perhaps a nice Gaian will help you!
