your anger is quelled somewhat as you imbibe the magical strawberry yogurty fluid that is a parfait cool
you are startled by a loud THUMP! from behind
you turn around and see a...a ghost??

(and ghost aside, it appears to be a familiar serving as a butler..)
the ghost seems ecstatic to see you!
it squeaks, 'whaaa~! t-thank you for coming to visit pomme-sama's thread!! she really needs donations and stuff and no one ever comes and and and--'
the ghost goes on to tell you a list of all the hardships pomme has endured (many greatly exaggerated by the poor ghostie's bad memory) that lasts several hours...
in short, the ghost butler familiar thingie is happy youre here, and begs you to take good care of pomme-sama in your stay...

after what feels like hours of searching, you finally hear some weird laughter coming from behind some giant mushrooms
when you stick your head into the clearing you find a startled and flustered pomme, who tries to clean up something she was workng on very quickly
w-what are you doing here?? ah...sorry...i mean... are you feeling better yet? > 3 >;;;;
sorry about earlier, really! emotion_sweatdrop /still scared youre going to toss the parfait at her
(once you manage to reassure her that you wont be throwing the parfait at her, she seems to settle down a bit..although you never do tell her that you ate the parfait since you realize it's better to save the threat for possible future situations..)


pomme clears her throat and says:
this place is very dangerous! (you dont really believe her at first because everything is either made sugar, wafer sticks, marshmallows, or toffee; at least, those were the conclusions from all your naughty naughty forest licking endeavors...)
when you inquire what exactly makes this place so dangerous, she replies with:
you see.... this candy forest is centuries old! there are many dangerous creatures living here! its part of the great candy kingdom..that i got banished from crying
(you wonder why she got banished, remember her rather scary venus flytrap, and suddenly realize why)
so she has to start anew here, in the forest, among her friends and with her ghost butler familiar, kuma!
you ask her why she calls her ghost butler kuma,which means bear in japanese...
because kuma IS a bear, you see!
you shake your head and tell her you dont see the resemblance
what are you talking about?? he looks just like one!!
you sigh in submission and decide it is wiser to not argue with such a ridiculous little girl, who you just notice is dressed in a peculiar princessy mahou shoujo lolita costume....ಠ___ಠ;
you decide not to comment on her strange choice of clothing emotion_awesome



after a few minutes of pomme making excuses you come to realize that the forest is actually most dangerous because of her (LOL)
she tends to get crazy when gambling with the peeps in the forest and loses all her money sweatdrop
you sigh and give in to her silly little rules, scribbled on a piece of peanut brittle:

second commandment!
you may not eat my property or steal any of it

third commandment!
you may not beg for donations or advertise your business ( scream ) in my mini rebel kingdom unless i say its ok....

you cant help but wonder why youre still here...

24 hours later...
you wonder how you even survived 24 hours of listening to a crazy princess apple who raises carnivorous plants as one of her favorite vocations (supposedly), her bubbly ghost butler familiar who thinks he is a bear, and all of the crazy princess's marshmallow subjects 8 A 8;;
well, you decide to sit down and enjoy yourself for a little while before you...decide your next course of action

you notice a bunch of peanut brittle signs (apparently pomme's least favorite candy) tacked onto mushroom lamps everywhere
most of them have tea party dates and locations, but some others have prizes for doing favors for people (although i shouldnt really say people, 99.9% of these requests are from pomme herself)
you look at one of the nearest signs and read:

wanted! a lovely companion!
pomme-chan is very lonely in her quest thread...could you please keep her company...

reward: 10k or super shiny special art by pomme herself! >U<;;

as you stroll through the outskirts of the candy kingdom, some of the residents hide from you, and others come out to stare. occasionally one or two interrupts your walk and offers to tell you allll about the princess.

with nothing better to do, you agree to listen.

'waaah~ the princess was exiled from the kingdom unjustly! i miss having the princess around~~ she was kicked out after her flowers attacked the queen....'

you cant help but feel that she kind of deserved being banished, with those dangerous plants she raised emotion_sweatdrop

'she asked us to keep her things for her until she could get back! look!'

the residents rush inside their homes and return with several items:

then they proceeded to explain:

'the royal family always wears these special rings to show their status inside the kingdom; it's not optional, it's mandatory! in fact, the ring is made of sugar, so it doesn't come off until you leave the sugary atmosphere, which is only present inside the walls of the candy kingdom.. her ring is made of crystalized sugar topaz fruits o 3 o'

you spend a moment to mentally facepalm at the odd naming of simple things in this world

'here is the key to the princess's room!' they wave around the red sugar cookie key 'she uses it to sneak in sometimes, but usually she doesnt, because the guard is very heavy...'

you resist the urge to roll your eyes - obviously the guard is heavy! you cant just sneak into the royal palace like that
