Shop Rules

1. Follow all Gaia rules and terms of service
   
   
2. Keep everything PG-13. You want 18+ or NSFW keep that private -- most boards and guilds have rules in place regarding that type of material. Fade-to-black is your friend!
   
   
3. A majority of pets given out will be free
   
   
4. Some pets may be given out either using Gaia gold/items or through IRL funds on DeviantArt, Toyhou.se, or other offsites.
   
   
5. Official Mythikos pets obtained off-Gaia will be allowed to be written/RPed/used here in the shop
   
   
6. Should Mythikos move off-Gaia, all pets given out on Gaia will be eligible to be used across the board
   
   
7. Players may give their freebies away freely to other players provided they let the shop know so we might update our owners list
   
   
8. If someone purchases a Mythikos pet with IRL funds, they may sell them for IRL funds for no more than they were purchased for, or less! They must notify the shop of the sale and new owner.
   
   
9. Colorists may sell Mythikos on DeviantArt, Toyhou.se, or other places provided they have Uta or Mr Cheri's approval. Guidelines will be laid out on when and how often IRL slots will be given away -- and the right can be revoked if abused! Colorists who quit or leave the shop, or are let go, lose the right to sell the art.
   
   
10. The shop is not meant to be pay-for-play but we do want to allow our colorists a little payment/side-hustle. We will still give out freebies, free breedings, free customs, and items regularly.
    
    
11. This shop is considered a closed species. There are plenty of centaurs and mythological beings out there but only centaurs and creatures sold in this shop and on these lines will be able to be part of the world.
    
    
12. At present cosplays are not allowed.
    
    
13. We are not a full-custom shop either -- all shop pets will be semi-custom. You can try to win a semi-custom using a character as inspiration, and in some cases are allowed to give a list of things you would like to see (or not see) on the final design, but the colorist still has the final say on the design and it may not match exactly.
    
    
14. The shop is not RP required but RP and Art RP will come with perks and benefits that those who are not active will not get. Activity is in part what keeps the shop alive.
    
    
15. Staff will not be pulled into player drama. We want to keep this place fun -- not some place stressful. We're all adults so let's act like it.
    
    
16. Generally, this shop is a closed-magic setting. Some species may have magical abilities lined out, but magic powers outside of those listed powers will not be allowed unless earned and approved by the shop. The shop may grant characters with magic, skills, or abilities, or give out / contest magical relics or items, but those will be limited in their release or earned through RP/ARP.
    

Discord Rules

1. Join the Discord at your own risk!
   
   
2. We expect all players who enter the Discord to manage their own triggers. We are all adults, and will not be monitoring or policing what people decide to say while in it. Sensitive topics and uncomfortable subjects may come up! If you are grow upset or find yourself uncomfortable with what people are saying, you are welcome to mute the channel until the conversation moves on.
   
   
3. We will not tolerate bullying or harassment of players or staff, bigoted ideas, or nasty attitudes. This is a LBTQ+, Black Lives Matters, pro-vaccines, anti-TERF owned shop and Discord. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, we want everyone to be aware of our stance. If these concepts make you uncomfortable, then this shop and our Discord might not be for you!
   
   
4. Do not peddle medical advice, especially in the case of vaccinations and COVID! While you are allowed to self-disclose your status, do not push medical advice publicly unless it comes from scientific sources such as WHO and the CDC regarding COVID or the vaccine. Asking for tips or feedback in regards to symptoms such as "I have a cold, any remedies you recommend to help?" are fine. However, in terms of the vaccine, COVID, and any other public health-crisis keep to scientific sources or don't discuss at all.
   
   
5. While differing ideas and opinions are bound to happen, we do ask you to move discussions to private threads if the topic is particularly disturbing, upsetting, or graphic. Staff does have the right to ask you to move the topic along or to stop discussing things publicly if we feel it crosses a line. Please keep in mind, staff will not always be present!
   
   
6. Policing of channels needn't happen. Cheri and Uta will direct people to the right channel if need be. We understand conversations can turn from one topic to another and sometimes the channel isn't entirely right. That said, if something concerns you, feel free to reach out to any staff member to notify them -- that way we can get involved and shut things down if we feel it correct to do so!
   
   
7. If your subject might be NSFW, please use the proper channel or refrain from sharing. Take things to private DMs or other chats not in the Discord if you really need to talk about something that might be explicit.
   
   
8. If someone has a shop question -- particularly about lore or RP -- please wait for Uta and Cheri to answer officially. Feel free to message them directly or notify them in the Discord so they can answer when they can!
   
   
9. Uta and Cheri can ask you to knock off a conversation or change the topic at any point.
   

RP Rules
All rules are subject to change! Rules can be added to, removed, and changed at any given time, per the need of the shop!

1. All RP should be PG-13!
   
   
2. Please note whether your RP is [PRP] [ORP] [SOLO] [FIN]
   PRP = Private RP meaning no one but invitied players should post in it!
   
   ORP = Open RP meaning anyone can throw a character in and get involved!
   
   SOLO = Solo RP meaning it is written only by one person
   
   FIN = Finished RP meaning the RP is wrapped/completed and no more posting will happen! It is important to indicate when an RP is finished / closed as that will allow you to enter it for RP points and XP Points!
   
   
3. Consider this entire area a trigger warning! There may be themes or subjects that make you personally uncomfortable, or plots you don't personally like or care for. If you stumble upon something you don't like or upsets you, simply scroll away. If you feel it breaks Gaia's TOS please reach out to a staff member privately so we can investigate -- but do not police! Everyone has different comfort levels and preferences and there's no way the shop can monitor/please everyone.
   
   
4. If things start getting heavy or too gruesome/graphic, please fade-to-black and move it offsite or somewhere private not on Gaia!
   
   
5. While it is a fantasy setting, there are some restrictions in terms of magic use. Magic is breed specific. Some breeds will not have magic, while others might have a shop-sanctioned gift or ability. We want you to have fun so just ask you try to keep within the boundaries we set and don't look for, or exploit, loopholes. If you've a question on what's allowed and what isn't, ask Mr Cheri or Uta!
   
   
6. If staff asks you to knock something off, or something isn't allowed, don't argue. We just want this to be fun and easy-going; not a place littered with rules. That said, it's possible something needs to be tweaked for whatever reason. If we, or staff, asks you to change or stop something, please do so.
   
   
7. The world is a grab-bag in terms of what items or things you might see. Some may be dressed more modern (halter tops, dyed fabrics, piercings, tattoos, leathers, buckles, etc.) while others might b e less so (flowers, furs, branches, etc.) We discourage very high-tech things but should something slip through, it's just par for the course. They won't question it, just think it's something left by the Gods or Others and call it a day!
   
   
8. At present, humans are unable to enter the Chimereid Archipelago. The only two legged individuals are the gods and demi-gods and two-legged creatures that live among the islands. In the past, it was not unheard of for men to attempt to come to the islands, but those that did arrive tended not to stay long or were hunted or killed quickly--either by god or beast. 'Man brings nothing but pain.' according to many on the islands. Thus far, the gods appear to protect the islands from the touch of man. Better to stop the problem from the start before it becomes an infestation.
   
   
9. In terms of weaponry think medieval or high-fantasy technology. Bows and arrows, swords, spears, daggers, whips, axes, etc. Guns, lasers, motorized-anything, shouldn't be used. If they slip through on a pet, it will be nothing more than a fashion accessory and is not to be used as a weapon or considered some type of magic.
   
   
10. All species and familiars can talk to one another and communicate. They all have the ability speak a Common tongue, but each species may have its own individual language. Non-Familiar animals can choose to speak Common or not. It's up to the RPers whether the local wildlife chooses to speak or not.
    
    
11. No mind reading allowed! There are some Demi-God and God-Abilities that might allow some sort of gift, but no one in the shop will know what someone is going to do, going to say, or how they will act.
    
    
12. The Chimereid Islands are magical, meaning longevity is extended. Most species are very long lived. While none of the species (demi-gods and gods the exception) would be considered immortal it is okay to have older characters. Death through war, plague, famine, accidents, and other means are more common than death of old age. When species die or are killed, it is permanent, both IC and OOCly. Please don't kill your characters with the expectations of bringing them back.
    
    
13. That said, those who do die will become spirits. You may RP them in the Underworld/Celestial realms and have them interact with gods. They lose all abilities and powers, cannot be seen by any but Gods and Demi-Gods, and are essentially ghosts. More detail can be found in the appropriate subforum! That said, death cannot be undone once it happens ICly.
    
    
14. If you wish to have a character reincarnated, they must first die, and be retired fully--meaning you must make sure they are put to rest and will not be played as a wandering spirit. You may then have them customed as a new character, or be reborn in a new breeding. The character must be born after your character dies, ICly--so you cannot custom their new form before you've axed them officially. Once reborn, they should have no memory of their past life or past connections initially. If, through RP, you want them to figure it out, that's entirely on you. In some cases the gods allow them to remember/piece a past life together--while in other cases, the gods keep their memories veiled. It's up to the player and their stories. It is not one size fits all.
    
    
15. Your character is considered a mortal being, no matter how they are designed or how they appear! Even if you write or RP them as some sort of vampire, ghost, or undead being it is considered simply magic or some curse or blessing of the spirits. They will still be vulnerable to attacks, they gain no other abilities or extra traits, they can still be killed, etc. Also, to claim them as something unordinary, they must be designed that way i.e. the colorist must create something unordinary or the trait must be visible on the pet
    
    
16. All earned characters from this shop must be Mythikos and the world of Arcanum. They are not from another world, planet, dimension, etc. As we don't allow cosplays, no matter what they might look like, they do not and will not inherit any powers, abilities, history, or traits based on inspirational source material. All characters must fit into the world of Mythikos and its lore and be originally made by the players.
    
    
17. Your character can be blessed or cursed by the spirits as you see fit if it works with your stories. You may have your character believe a certain spirit or god did so, however, do not demand the owner of said God agrees. There are multiple gods of the same domain in this world -- so keep it as some sort of NPC unless permission is granted.
    
    
18. Do not name NPC gods or spirits outside of their domain type i.e. The God of the Moon or the Moon God or the Night Spirit(s). Named Gods and Spirits will be given out by the shop as PCs or will be shop sanctioned NPCs.
    
    
19. You may allow them to brew potions and poisons within reason (i.e. you could make a tonic from a well that has healing properties, or some poisons from some plant--but the healing potion cannot raise someone back from the dead, or things like that. Just keep them reasonable. All players involved must be okay with the potion or brew working! If they appear too powerful, we may ask you to tone it down/change it! They also can't grant powers or enchantments! The shop will give out enchanted items or grant powers on our terms--it is not something players can create on a whim!
    
    
20. Please only write characters you own. While you may mention "other herdmates" or if the character has a mother/father/siblings/friends/etc. but they aren't in the shop yet, you may reference those as well--but please keep NPCs minimal if possible. Don't RP characters you don't own and don't control and when you do create NPCs, please try not to have them take-over or dominate the RP. They should just be used to flavor the story!
    
    
21. Have fun! We have some boundaries in the shop but generally just want you to enjoy the characters and make your own stories. Explore the islands and enjoy what you find!
    
    

God & Demi-God RP Rules

1. Gods and Demigods of all stripes and domains can be found on the Islands. When they are on the islands some may choose a mortal guise of one of the species, while others might take on the form of a two-legged human. They speak all tongues, and will be given limited shop powers/gifts/abilities. Both demi-gods and gods may share a domain and there may be multiple of the same domain in the shop. Additionally, there are many that share very similar domains i.e. Fire, Embers, Sparks, Flame, etc. Demi-gods are far more common than Gods, but also weaker and have fewer abilities. No one can RP a god or demi-god unless you win/own art for them. While on the islands, gods and demi-gods are not all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful. They have powers, have magic, but still have boundaries to keep the setting fair. Their magic is limited while on the Chimereid Archipelago and is due to being in a mortal guise.
   
   
2. Some Gods will not be able to be obtained and are reserved for shop use / metaplot.
   
   
3. If a God of a specific domain is needed in a future story, we will either work with the player to have them make a cameo in the event or will make our own NPC god or goddess or some Blessed Priest/ess. We might also bring in a Titan, Ancient or Old One. This is a shop right. This will likely only be needed to resolve certain storylines or metaplot, and will be used as Uta or Cheri see fit.
   
   
4. Gods and Demi-Gods are not the most powerful beings on the Chimereid Islands, though they might believe themselves to be. There are stronger Spirits, stronger Beings, more Ancient than the Gods themselves. Think of them as the Gods of the Gods. They are (thus far) forgotten or at least not actively around--but could be bought into play at any point. [Think Titans, Old Ones, etc.]
   
   
5. You may not quest for a God or Demi-God. They are very rare and limited! We will give them out during shop events or other giveaways and more can be created through breedings.
   
   
6. Gods will be fully custom drawn art.
   
   
7. Demi-Gods will be unique/rare templated art for specifically for the demi-god species. It can be uniquely edited. It will only be passed down if the child is also a demi-god.
   
   
8. Gods will be granted one blessing, one curse, one minor power, and one major power on top of godlike abilities such as great speed, great strength, invulnerability against mortals, and an ability to fly (with or without wings). They are invulnerable to physical attacks against mortals as well as illness, and have no need to eat (unless they choose to), breathe, or sleep if they do not wish. They can be hurt and damaged by other Gods. They cannot be truly killed by other gods, as they are but avatars on the islands--and not their "true" form or self--but they can harm one another if players wish.
   
   
9. Demi-Gods will be granted one minor power plus greater speed, greater strength, and greater invulnerability in general against mortals. They cannot fly unless they have wings. They also have an ability of greater regeneration with time. They can be hurt or killed but usually only by other demi-gods, or gods. Mortals would need a gods assistance or blessing to harm one.
   
   
10. Powers and abilities will need to be approved by staff before they can come into play! In some cases, the power/abilities will be pre-determined by the shop and cannot be changed! It's possible some powers might be similar or the same -- remember, though, even if the powers were to match, it's not the powers that make them unique but the personality and what you do with them! Additionally, as with everything in this shop, powers, and abilities, can grow the more the character is RPed and developed with the use of RP Points!

The Chimereid Isles (also sometimes referred to as the Chimereid Islands or Chimereid Archipelago) is a long, magical island chain found on the continent Mythikos, in the magical world of Arcanum.

The two largest of the islands are where the setting primarily takes place, and though they are surrounded by many more, not every island is opened for RP. There are many islands that are yet unexplored by the native Centaur populations, though they might be revealed in later stories. It isn't uncommon for islands to appear and disappear--it is a magical world, after all-- but the main Chimereid Islands and a couple of its sister islands have almost always been heavily populated and stable.

Due to magic, the exact size of the islands is variable. While from a distance the look so large, those who inhabit find the islands vast and seemingly never-ending. Many herds populate the islands without over-populating it. While some might move from beach to beach, or shore to shore, in other cases the jungles can sometimes seem like they go on forever. In other cases, the vast plains can have individuals get lost in them if they don't know where to go. In some cases, the island seems to form around an individuals intent--if you're heading to the beach, you might well find it. If you have no desire for such thing, you could wander the plains for days without reaching the end. That said, the islands can be as fickle as they can be pleasant; sometimes, no matter how hard you try to reach a destination, you wind up equally lost!

Thankfully, the spirits (and magic) tend not to be cruel and allow for endless adventure. While magic is limited to species, there is magic in abundance around the world. A good way to think of the Chimereid Isles is to imagine any type of environment you might find of Earth, but with a sprtiz of magic as well. Floating stones, glowing crystal caves, water that's naturally dyed, etc. If you can imagine it, you might well find it on these islands! There are snowy tundra right next to scalding deserts, tunnels brimming with life, and plains full of tall gasses hat you can never escape. It is both beautiful and dangerous--but those born on the Islands seem to have a good handle on the unexpected.

• OOCly, it is up to each individual write on how magical a setting they want. Some herds might live more or less like horses, with vast territory, and nothing magical ever happening; in other cases, they might prefer to live near the lagoons where the floating stones and rainbow waterfall are a backdrop to their daily life.
  
  
• While we are a magical setting, please don't make your character all powerful, all knowing, and with easy outs. There will always be someone more powerful, more frightening, or more capable than your character--if not another character than an NPC. We may introduce drama or antagonists and they're not necessarily meant to be easily shrugged off. Try to keep things fun for your fellow players and shop goers!
