Between Ascensions (oh god, so many Ascensions), the Acha, working for Limn, and doing some RL's that people had been saving for me to get internet back (flattered! But also like D: SORRY), I haven't really had time to pick up any semis/customs.

I do want to open a thread again, though (hopefully it won't be as... ill-timed as last time lol), so maybe next month. And I do want to start taking growings again after a breakthrough I had with Blue the other night that should make coloring said growings vastly easier.

My thoughts on the whole edits vs. no edits thing:

Most of my favourite Kimeti are unedited (Salt, Catch, and Livebirth are my prettiest does, I think), but I do get why the edits are so appealing. They do add variety, and I know from experience it can be easier to know exactly what, say, hair you want and still have no idea what kind of markings you're after.

So with that said, while I understand the desire for edits, and I actually quite like doing most of them (especially repetitive scale type things which I find soothing to pixel), I do feel like the basic lineart doesn't get much love in the wake of it, and honestly, as I mentioned above, it's usually the unedited ones I like best! Also I think it keeps edits special to keep them to a minimum... and with the new thing we're doing with Ascensions where we fancy them up I bet it'd also be more fun to be the owner who Ascends an unedited kimeti than an edited one.

So yeah in short, I too am more likely to take an unedited slot than an edited one, mostly just to keep edits special. Even though I like doing edits razz Also, on a petty note, I really like doing fancy head/face/mask markings and hair always covers them up sad

And gold? I am fine taking a "bribe" that's just the default price if it's something I wanna do. I am not rolling in gold cos I have a bad habit of giving it all away, haha, but even though I'm relatively Gaia-broke the gold is still the last thing I look at. If I am really dying for a certain item or to buy a gift for someone though, I'll sometimes go through and pick a good bribe. That doesn't happen often, but it happens.

I actually really loved the "surprise edits" parts of the ascension.
It really pushes people to put their efforts into getting a legendary, and it's an amazing surprise to the effort put in by both parties. ><

There are some semis that are AMAZINGLY gorgeous too, like Beetleshell, Aching Bones, why, I didn't even think Wander would of been that popular too, LOL.

But yah, edits are a welcome surprise at times. Definitely wouldn't want more edited metis than non, but it's nice to have that one/two that makes them feel more special.

They /are/ special, no doubt about it.
The feeling of getting my first was just... wow.
I was so happy. Still am!
But I wouldn't want to overwhelm my herd with bunches of edited meti because then they wouldn't feel as special anymore, if that makes sense?
I think my plot for edits in my herd is gonna be like...
Maybe 1-2 per page (so 1-2 every 14-15)
maybe with an exception to edits received through breeding? idk, that'll depend on how big or little they are.

But I prefer simple and clean, so...

While hair-edits are pretty and horn-edits look awesome I'm still more a fan of no-edits.
