Shay looked at him, fist clenching at his comment. Wet dog my a**, she thought, but she listened to him babble on without interrupting. His story was kind of interesting, even if it was heavily influenced by his intoxicated state. She grabbed her drink and knocked it back before placing the glass on the bar. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for the guy; Sheliss must have been very special to him. However, she did not appreciate his comments.

She smiled and looked behind them where he had pointed. Sure enough there were two people there, absolutely not blending in with the rest of the people here. Way to be as obvious as you can possibly be, she thought. Shay turned back to him, “I didn’t actually come over to talk, but if you are in the mood to let it all out, I’ll continue to listen.” She laughed a little at his description of her... Men had a knack for exaggerating the physical description of women didn’t they? However when asked her if he could top the misery he was clearly feeling, she disappeared into her memories.

The smell of blood filled her nostrils, the sound of screams and howls filled her ears. Behind it all the smell of pine trees that lined the mountain where she had spent all her life. In her mind she saw many pack members dying, her father fighting to save those who remained. She saw herself jump in the middle with him, only to receive a wound that would have killed her had she not been saved. Her hand instinctively went to her left side; there underneath the green silk was a jagged scar that ran the length of her side. She shook her head and leaned towards the drunken man, eyes blazing with a new kind of fury, and whispered in his ear.

“I watched my entire family,” because that’s what her pack was, “get slaughtered by humans who didn’t care for us.” She frowned and turned away, “They are more monster than we are sometimes.” She wasn’t sure if that would top his story, she had a feeling in his mind it wouldn’t... She understood that but didn't care. She had come to terms with what had happened, mostly. She could only hope someone had survived. Being a lone wolf was tiresome sometimes.

Rain continued dancing around the room with Emery, thinking over his words while staying alert for trouble. She could see the glimmer of worry in his eyes when he looked at her, especially tonight since it had been two days since the last time she slept. It was so painfully obvious, she felt her cheeks growing red at the thought. She didn't want him to worry about her, but in all honesty, she was practically dead on her feet. Between the repeating nightmares, lack of sleep, taking care of Tiger, worrying about the retaliation from humans and non-humans Rain felt she was probably going to hit a mental breakdown soon.

But not tonight. Tonight she was on the job.

Then again her feet were getting tired in those damn high heels -- who the hell invented these damn things?! -- and was just about to suggest they find some place to sit down where they could keep a better eye on the room when the little communication device in her ear picked up a voice of one of Keristrasza's guard.

"Keristrasza is outside unguarded with an abnormal. She told us to stay away, but I'm not sure we should..."

Rain froze. What the flying... "You freaking idiot, of course you should be guarding her! What the hell is wrong with you?! Go out there now!" she barked into the little mic clipped to the top of her corset. She looked up at Emery, about to explain the situation when her gaze happened to look over his shoulder to fall on two similar looking boys. She knew those faces. The Hunters council had sent patrols out to follow them. She had studied the photographs of them.

"Emery... Level 5 threat," she turned nudged her head in their direction, making it look like she was looking up at him, but really keeping her gaze on the twins.

Ash walks down the road. Hitting his face, rain pours off. Stopping, he looks up and sighs. "I'm getting old." He grunts to himself. Reaching into his coat, he pulls out a pack of cigarettes, and a book of matches. He places one in his mouth, and lights it with a match. Inhaling deeply, he continues to walk. As he walks, his cigarette sizzles with the rain. He stops under an awning of a building, leans against the wall, and continues smoking. 'Funny thing about rain, it's supposed to wash away, and cleanse. With the world now, we would need all of the water in Heaven to cleanse this s**t hole.' Finishing his cigarette, he lets the remains fall from his mouth. Raising his boot, he kicks the butt in the street. Ash turns to the window, and looks in. Seeing the coffee shop, he enters. He sits at a far booth, and leans back against the wall. Inhaling, he smiles at the smell of coffee around him. Closing his eyes, he relaxes, "Anything beats the rain." He says to himself.

Few people really think about dying... paranoids worry about it without really understanding it. Victims of fatal accidents and murder don't have time to think. You only really think about it if you take the time to. And you only take the time if you know it's going to happen.

Veritas was an oddity in the room even with all the fan fare and what not. He exuded a certain feeling from his very presence that had many steering away without even thinking about it. He was dressed as elegantly as ever in his deep black suit with a black shirt and vest combo. The only things on his person that was not black was small accents of a deep emerald green and the silver hue of his mask. The mask her wore was half and half with black and silver split evenly down the middle. The eyes were blacked out so none of his face could be seen. At his side stood a young looking woman who had bright orangish hair and pretty purple eyes . She was dressed in a light brown uniform that looked almost military. In her hands she held a clip board and on her hip was a tightly coiled whip. This was his companion Elsa. Not companion as in lover or family. She was his secretary of sorts. She followed him every where, took notes, and tried her best to keep him from making idiotic decisions.

Veritas silently moved through the crowd for sometime. He was a very generous donator to this cause but he was also working as a back up security force. Why? Because Veritas never found any other good use to have fun. Fighting was fun for him though he wished nothing bad to happen here. Veritas pulled a cigarette to his face level and looked it over. The shaft was pitch black and looked hand rolled, The smoke was also pitch black and dissipated quickly into nothing after maybe a foot of floating upward. The cherry where it should be red was a brioght green and the smoke smelled of almonds. It wasn't cigarette smoke at all and it smelled rather nice so no one had asked him to put it out. Why did he have it out anyway? He had a mask on and couldn't smoke it. Veritas waved the item and snuffed it out before slipping it away. His hands slid behind his back and he traced through the crowd where he observed,

He watched a young man head outside and he also watched Tiger closely. They weren't too close but Rain cared about him so Veritas kept an eye on the man to make sure he didn't give himself alcohol poisoning. Elsa jotted something on her clip board and looked to Veritas "Master, should we not find Anna Lore?" Veritas chuckled and shook his head "Not just yet My Dear. I have a feeling she is busy. Let us mingle some more" The smile. You could hear the smile in his voice that could melt butter. The rumors were around of what he looked like under the mask that he wore almost all the time. None knew but Rain though as she had seen his face first hand.

Veritas redirected his attention to the room once more. Two younger looking boys were to his side near the food tables. They seemed to look a little bored by their body language. It got easy to read after being alive so many years and seeing it so often. Veritas placed a finger to chin chin of his mask and looked up towards the ornate crystal decorations above that hung there all the time. A wondrous night to be honest and so much fun to toy with people. A couple next to Veritas. His mask greeting their eyes as they felt that little twinge of him being near. Veritas stepped back and leaned on an ice sculpture table that had been set up. He didn't bother looking at it but now centered his unseen eyes on the very girl he had come to talk to. Anna Lore. She would probably be surprised to see him. After all, the last time they had met Emery was dead and she had a barbed chain wrapped around her heart. Well besides him meeting them after they killed Cain. He had been too busy to visit recently with his helping both The Hunters and ARP.

"Elsa. My drink please." Elsa produced a deep black liquid and poured it into a champagne glass. The liquid smelled of almonds as well. Veritas pulled his mask back slightly and downed the drink in one smooth tip of his head before fixing the mask, not a feature was exposed. Now Veritas went about how to entertain himself which was easy. Black tendrils dripped of his back slowly but evenly. They were extremely thin and almost completely see through. They slid along the floor and up the table legs near those twin boys. A chuckle left his throat as the finger foods they tried to grab at would move ever so slightly to make it much harder to get at them. He had to do something until Anna was free or his host came out of her little hiding spot.

Beside a large graveyard, a dark broken down cabin was beside it. Inside that cabin resided Jessica Ryder. No one knew where she lived, but she made it known now and again that she was still alive. She was careful though, making sure not to fully be seen, but just enough to make the Hunters uncomfortable. She believed Cain would be proud of her...

Cain. Besides the crazy cult supporting him, Amnesia was probably the last person on earth to truly miss him. He had been such a wonderful being to play with. He knew how to play the ultimate game, how to make it so exciting, so bloody, so life-threatening. The rush was amazing, and being able to spend so much time picking at his brain, Am learned a lot of tricks. It hurt so much when he was slain by those insufferable idiots. She was there until the last moment with him and she remembered wanting to cry but being able to only feel Cain's wrath as he quickly succumbed to death. But just before he died, he set her free, allowing her to live. Which was cruel of him in some part, but he gave her freedom. And as a bonus for her loyalty, he gave her sight... Which was dangerous in itself. Spending 18 years of her life blind, Amnesia was easily distracted by pretty, shiny things.

Right now she was coming through her door, wearing her long red cloak with a small basket full of food for her child hanging from her arm. The child wasn't actually hers, but one that she stole... Technically. After Cain had released her from his body, she had found him wandering the streets crying. She wasn't sure what he was crying about. Maybe he lost his parents, maybe they were slain by her and Cain. She never bothered asking. But what was important was that because of her disability of being unable to truly express her own emotions and being forced to mimic those around her, she was able to grieve over Cain because the child was grieving. From that moment, Am took the child under her wing and decided to raise him as her own. So technically she stole him... But she liked to believe that she saved him.

"Wolfie, I brought pudding," she called out as she shut the door behind her. Wolfie was now five years old and he was completely mute. Probably from Am's doing, but she didn't believe that. The horrors she exposed him to from three years old and on had traumatized the child greatly.

He wandered out of his room and didn't say anything in greeting, he just looked at the basket. His eyes were sunken into his skull, the color was a dull brown. He had a little black wolf mask on the side of his skull and he was wearing an old fashioned dull black tux with a gray jacket. Just how Am liked him.

"Pudding is exactly what every little boy needs to grow big and strong," she continued, wanting to sound a bit more chipper, but Wolfie being raised by Am had made him lacking in the emotions department. Which was frustrating since it was because of his emotions she could feed off of was the reason she kept him.

But that was why she now had her little... pets...

It was a lie when earlier stated that no one knew where she was. One little Hunter had grown quite clever and had stumbled across her little home. Which was fine because now she had someone to play with. And someone to mimic some emotions.

George - the Hunter - was strapped tightly to a chair in the little dining room at a small round table. A tea cup was in front of him, still filled with the tea she had made him two days ago. Besides being strapped to the chair, he wouldn't have been able to drink it anyways since she had sewn his mouth shut tightly. He was one of many of her experiments. The others were dead, but Am had learned from her mistakes. She had to do the transformation gradually.

His skin was bubbling, his muscle mass expanded greatly. His neck, arms and legs were abnormally long, but not quite the length she was hoping for just yet. His hands had deteriorated, exposing gore covered bones that were shaped into sharp points.

He was so... beautiful...

One of the many strange things about Amnesia was that, though she mimicked the emotions around her to express them the same way, when it came to pain she expressed a different emotion. Joy. When she was surrounded by pure agony, she was on Cloud Nine. And George... He was beyond being in agony at this point. This process had been going on for two days. Am had to be very careful not to break her toy - it was a very delicate procedure.

She placed the basket on the small table and stepped closer to her new experiment. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she grinned wildly down at him. "Don't worry. This won't hurt a bit." As soon as the words left her mouth, she set to work, using her abnormal powers to begin manipulating George's DNA.

Even with his mouth sewn shut, George was screaming in such unbelievable agony. And behind the two of them... Wolfie watched everything...

Despite currently being on a job, the dragon was trying to enjoy himself. As mentioned before, he was besides himself with the way Rain was dressed tonight and he was able to meet with a lot of creatures he had not seen in a long time. The party was going good thus far, so really he felt he could take a moment to simply relax. While Rain scanned the room around him, Emery took a moment to look her over. She had dark rings that circled her eyes from the lack of sleep which worried him, but other than that she was beautiful. Her lovely golden hair was pulled back in a wild and messy bun. Her dress followed the curves of her body down to her hips where it suddenly belled out. He remembered this style from his youth, but never found a woman so attractive in one before. He had been about to compliment her again but he was swiftly interrupted by the device going off on her ear.

Quickly, the pupils in his eyes narrowed as he listened in. The device wasn't loud enough for those around them to hear anything, but Emery's senses were far greater than any human's and most other creatures. The guards stationed here in the mansion seemed a bit..idiotic in Emery's opinion. Why would you let the one you're guarding walk off unattended simply because she said so? He understood she was a dragon, but not even a well seasoned dragon could take on a mansion full of magical beings. Every person had their weaknesses. Shaking his head he listened to Rain's angry barking at the mic. She had never been good at holding back her feelings, especially when upset. Once her scolding was done, she turned to him like she was going to say something but paused instead. From the angle of her gaze, she was looking at someone (or something) over his shoulder.

It was then she said it. "Emery... Level 5 threat." Without hesitation, Emery now took the lead of the walts. His steps widened a bit as he turned them around in a full circle to be able to see who Rain spotted. From the direction of her gaze and the nodding of her head, she seemed to be looking at the two boys by the food table. They were identical in looks and if Emery remembered right, Rain had mentioned they were vampires and very dangerous when together. Taking a moment, the dragon pondered how to handle the situation. They weren't exactly doing anything for him to throw them out, so he would probably have to simply sit and watch them. Ending the dance, he bowed to his lady before taking her hand to politely lead her off the dance floor. Earlier, he had also noticed a few pained expressions on Rain's face and if he had to guess, it was from those awful shoes she had chosen to wear. They didn't appear to be comfortable at all. Easily he lead them to an open table where they could easily view the room. "I'll keep my eye on them less they start trouble. You should rest for a moment or two."

Ansiel & Azriel

▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

While Ansiel was busy looking for his dragon woman, Azriel silently devoured the food at the able. To say he was cross was an understatement. He had come here to party like an animal, not dance around like a bunch of old women. It also didn't help that his brother convinced him to stay awhile. The longer he listened to this shitty music and watched the dancers twirl, the more he wanted to burst everything in to flames. Patience was not his strong suit and neither was behaving himself. Scowling, the angry vamp stole a glance up to Ansiel, who was currently paying him no mind. That boy was only focused on finding his goal, which made Azriel bristle a little. What was so interesting about an old lizard lady anyway? From what he heard, she didn't like to fight and was as gentle as a butterfly. Boring! In order to continue consoling himself, he decided to enjoy these tasty little finger foods since they were free and obviously expensive. However, something didn't agree with him.

When he reached down again, his fingers hit the top of the table causing his eyes to jerk back to the spot where the chip he had been enjoying should be. Only, they weren't there. They had moved back a few inches where he fingers missed the bowl. For a moment, he considered it his mistake. Maybe he accidentally pushed the bowl when he was staring at Ansiel and just hadn't noticed until now. That's what he had been thinking, until it happened a second time with a different bowl and then again with a third. Now he was furious. Someone was playing a trick on him. When he thought about it, Ansiel could move things without touching them so it would be a good bet that his sibling was playing a trick on him but then again, why would he? Ansiel had never been one for petty tricks, especially against his own brother. Besides that, Ansiel knew Azriel wasn't enjoying the party and wouldn't push his luck until he saw the dragon lady so the idea of him playing tricks simply didn't make sense.

Withdrawing his hand, Azriel stared at the bowls trying to consider what he should do about this. Obviously someone was having some fun with him but he had no idea who, which was all the more annoying. After a few moments of debating, the boy decided he had had enough food anyway! He didn't want to over stuff himself in case something big did happen. Turning from the table, he faced the dance floor but was still wary of the table behind him. If he got the chance, he would catch the b*****d that was toying with him and give him an ear full..and maybe a beating. Azriel didn't like being messed with and much less made a fool of. He would get back at the person responsible if he had the chance. Ansiel on the other hand felt a disturbance with his bother's mood and shifted to look towards the other. Obviously something was bugging Azriel other than the party, but Ansiel couldn't place his finger one what, exactly.

Never again will I be dishonored
And never again will I be reminded
Of living within the world of the jaded

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

User Image The room was weaving in and out. The stool beneath him seemed to have grown smaller. Strange. Did all that alcohol go to his a** already? Hmm...

Oh no, she was talking. Had he asked her to talk? He couldn't remember. s**t. But he did remember that when a woman talked, he should listen otherwise they either smacked him or say something along the lines of 'You never listen to me!' in which he would most usually retort with 'I'm sorry, what?' just to piss them off. But he tried to focus on what she was saying as he leaned into his ear and spoke. Which sent chills down through his body. There was something he always found sexy about a woman doing that to him.

Focus Tiger.

She was telling him something important to her, and he should really listen. He wasn't sure if it was because of the alcohol or because she reminded him a bit of Shelliss with that spit-fire energy and attitude, but he listened. And he also felt horrible for her.

Weird...

When she pulled back away from him, he gazed drunkenly for a moment at her. He was never good at giving comfort. He didn't believe in it. So he did the only thing he could think of in his drunken state; He placed his massive hand on her head, ruffled her hair like he was petting the head of a dog and said, "You're a good kid."

He took his hand away and tapped the counter with it... The bartender told him he was cut off. He cursed under his breath, deciding not to argue that he wasn't drunk yet and stretched his arms wide. Suddenly he felt like impressing this girl. So he spread his mouth wide in a drunken grin and said, "Welp. I should get back to work. I'm supposed to be protecting our hostess you know." Tiger's chest puffed out a bit, somehow thinking this would impress her. "Nice meetin' you kid." He pretended to pull down a fake cowboy hat in farewell.

He stepped off of the bar stool and turned to face the ballroom. He took a step forward... And then crashed face first to the floor, completely passed out from having just a bit too much Jack Daniels.

When he reached up and ruffled her hair, like a parent might do to a child or an owner to their dog, she wanted so very much to bite off said hand. She narrowed her eyes and growled feeling the point of her canines as they began to extend. s**t, she thought taking a deep breath to calm herself. She reached up to smooth her hair back to where it had been. She really didn’t go out of her way to look pretty, she barely ever tried. When she did, though, she did not appreciate people messing it up.

Shay looked at him, as he swayed on his stool and grinned drunkenly at her. Was he attempting to hit on her? She wasn’t quite sure. When he told her why he was here, probably to impress her she laughed. An honest laugh, because she found it a ridiculous notion that he would be protecting anyone. “I hardly think you’re capable of protecting anyone in the state you’re in. You’d be more likely to get them or yourself killed, Mr.Bodyguard.”

She followed his movements as he got up to go back to work. Then she watched as he made a not so graceful face plant into the floor. People closest to where he landed turned around shocked, some even gasped and whispered. “Oh for crying out loud, you ridiculous lump of flesh,” she muttered stepping forward and kneeling next to him. She could still hear him breathing so at least he hadn’t succumb to alcohol poisoning... Not yet anyways.

“Okay big boy,” she rolled him over, ignoring the looks people were giving the poor sap and her. “Time to wake up, you can’t sleep on the floor in the middle of a crowded room. No matter how comfy it is.” She gently slapped the sides of his face trying to rouse him. She would love to have smelling salts, they always worked but her dress didn’t come with pockets and she never thought she’d need them at a party. She debated asking the bartender for a shot of liquor, thinking the smell might rouse him but she let go of that idea. He’d probably only wake up and want more booze to drown himself in. “Damn it, wake up you stupid man!”

Despite the threat of the twins being at the party, Rain couldn't help but be caught up in the moment when Emery took charge over their dance. She took a moment to enjoy it and push everything out, even for just a brief moment. It felt nice to feel normal again. She wondered if this reminded him of old times passed since they were doing a waltz, and let's face it, who really does that anymore? When she closed her eyes for a moment, she imagined what it would have been like back then. And if maybe he had a mistress back then...

That quick thought returned her back to reality and made her focus. Nope, not going there. Not the time, and a ridiculous thought, and if he did so what? That was forever ago. Shouldn't matter. They had work to do anyways.

But the next thing she knew, he was leading her to a table overlooking the floor and Rain felt a surge of gratitude as she plopped onto an elegant chair - very unlady like. She kicked off her high heels and decided if she needed to move quickly, she would probably be better bare feet then in those damn things. She followed Em's gaze that was intently watching the twins. They didn't seem to be causing trouble, but one of them seemed to be confused, reaching his hand out now and again to the finger foods. Hmm.

"Ok," she replied to Emery. "I won't argue." She chuckled a bit and scanned the crowd. Her hand reached out over the table to grasp his, part of it out of love, but most of it just to appear like they were just there for the party. As she scanned the crowd her gaze fell on a woman that stood out quite a bit in her outfit. She was wearing a brown military outfit... What in the world...

Her brain was trying to think, the cogs churning desperately to make everything fall into place. But exhaustion kept holding the memory back from her. She knew her... she was quite sure...

And then suddenly her grasp on Emery's hand tightened.

"Elsa." Which meant... Her hand tightened even more on Emery, not thinking that maybe it would hurt him, but focused more on her heartbeat growing more rapid in her chest. "Veritas... We... We haven't seen him since... Abel..."

She found herself on her feet without remembering ever thinking to do such a thing. She stared across the dance floor at his back. The smell of almonds hung in the air and she felt like it was going to suffocate her. "Em... He might know..." She trailed off, not realizing she wasn't making much sense.

As soon as she was on her feet she was sitting back down in a daze. "Never mind." She didn't want to know if he knew where Abel was. She didn't want to know right then if he was alive or dead. She didn't want to have to face any of that. So she simply stared across the dance floor at him, reaching her hand back over onto Emery's, this time there was no doubt that it was out of love and the need for comfort.

If it takes the last drop of your blood, I'll drive your demons away. I'll kick them in the bollocks and spit on them when they're down and then I'll be gone back into darkness, leaving only a nod and a wink and a wisecrack. Ash lifts his feet upon the chair next to him. Opening his eyes, he searches for a sign that said no smoking. To his pleasure, he does not find one. Reaching into his coat, he pulls out his pack of cigarettes, places one in his mouth, and lights it with a match. Inhaling deep, he closes his eyes and smiles. Two of my favorite smells, coffee and cigarettes. Just like waking up after that one night stand. He thinks to himself. Taking the cigarette from his mouth, he places it in an ash trey, and leans back into his chair.

Looking towards the counter, he sees a girl placing a fresh trey of scones on it. His mouth waters, as he reaches for his pocket and pulls out some change. Heading up to the counter, he places some change on the counter and orders a small cup of coffee and a scone. After receiving his prize, he goes back to his chair, finishes his cigarette, and sips at his coffee. As he sips, he burns his tongue and sets down the mug. "Son of a..." He stops, and sets it down. Well, I'm not waiting for the damn thing to cool.

Placing his finger in the ash trey, he covers his finger in ash, and draws a circle around the mug. "Peto super omnes qui frigore gelida bibendum mi ut capulus." He whispers, and watches as cloud forms above the mug. The small cloud begins to snow two flakes, and the steam from the coffee slows. He blows the ring away, and the cloud disappears. Taking a sip, he smiles. "Perfect."

Few people really think about dying... paranoids worry about it without really understanding it. Victims of fatal accidents and murder don't have time to think. You only really think about it if you take the time to. And you only take the time if you know it's going to happen.

How interesting, but of course that was why he had chosen to spend his time in this particular spot. Raven's eyes caught all the movement around the room, tending to hone in more upon the more... extraordinary feeling individuals. The twins were an interesting pair, and even though they were identical, their body movements and the way they presented themselves showed just how different they were to anyone who took the time to pay attention. Of course, time was all he really had, wasn't it? He noticed the girl, and the one that stood near her...he had the same smell as Keristrasza, if only just a little different. It was obviously that the two of them were keeping an eye on things, which was no surprise to him. After all, who in their right mind would assume something like this would be completely safe?

Then he watched the man at the bar attempt to get up and fall onto his face. A grin crossed his lips, and he laughed softly at the spectacle, even as he watched the woman that had set next to him attempt to wake him from his drunken stupor. Of course, with the way he hit the floor, Raven would have been surprised if the man didn't at least have a migraine. Shaking his head, he lifted his flask to his lips, closing his eyes as he took a deep drought from the liquid that lay within.

Raven turned his head away from the main gathering as he opened his eyes once more. He brushed the bangs of his black, red streaked hair away from his face, more out of habit than out of the need to actually do so. "So far, all this party seems to have accomplished is one huge ********] He muttered to himself, stretching his arms out after stashing his flask back beneath his jacket. He would stay just a while longer, enough to witness whatever festivities would present themselves. The tingling that lingered on the precipice of his mind, told him it was coming.

The front doors opened and several members from the local news crew began setting up in the middle of the dance floor, their cameras aimed upwards. Keristrasza stepped out from her bedroom then on to the balcony above the ballroom. A hush came over the crowd as she smiled warmly down at her guests. She descended down to the half circle where the curved stairs met, offering a quick smile to Raven before she waited for the polite applause most of the crowd gave to die down. Her entourage surrounded behind her; six guards with their hands folded behind their backs. Keristrasza knew that, though she had ordered them not to, they concealed some weapon on their bodies.

“I can not express how wonderful it is to see such a huge turn out for such a needy cause. Thank you all for coming,” she began, bowing her head to several important figures in the community and to the new mayor. Her voice was powerful, reaching out into each corner of the mansion without any help from an amplification device. "I apologize for the guards, I don't want to come off as being hostile. However I was instructed that, beyond my better judgment, there may be some people here that would want to take my life." She paused, gazing around the crowd kindly, giving off the impression that she doubted that could possibly happen.

"There is so much pain and fear in this world. I feel it, and I know most of you do as well. We see it on the streets, in the destroyed slums. Our own homes. We see it in each other. Our friends. Our family. We have all suffered so much from Cain's wrath." Murmurs broke out and she waited for it to dissipate before continuing. "Hate is such a powerful emotion. Look at what it has done to us. Look at Cain, who had so much hate, wrath, and maybe pain of his own kind that we may never understand. Do we want to be like him? The Angel that took so much away from us?"

"No. No we do not," she answered for them. "I understand the fear that is deep within most of you. From humans and non-humans alike. Both sides don't understand each other. Humans fear what creatures like myself are capable of. They fear the strange and unspeakable strength and powers we have. And non-humans... We fear the terrible fates our fellow creatures have suffered for just being who they are. We fear what you will do when you find out about us." She gazed sadly at everyone, waiting for the crowd to die down again.

"Both sides have made mistakes. Both sides have made poor judgments. What's important to remember is that we are all alike inside. We all share the same feelings, fears, aspirations, dreams... Just because we can shape shift, just because we can speak telepathically, levitate objects around us, or summon creatures, doesn't mean humans need to fear us." There was a small applause from a few non-humans and Keristrasza turned her warm gaze upon them.

"And just because some humans have judged us monsters and have slain our brethren, does not mean all humans are bad." Some humans applauded and she inclined her head at them.

"Every single one of us could have darkness within us. Both sides will always have a bad egg in their ranks. It is not our forms. It is not our skin color. It is not our outward appearance that should be judged. But the spectrum of light that we all follow that should be up for judgment." A loud applause broke out and Keristrasza waited, simply smiling kindly and waiting for the quiet once more.

"We need to unite — now more than ever. We all can't afford another war. We don't want that heartache, that horrible loss following us anymore. There is a greater evil out there. I feel it in the air and deep in my ancient bones. Cain is gone. But his anger, his hate... It still remains here, within a group of people, humans and non-humans alike. Carrying out Cain's beliefs... His wretchedness. Our pain and suffering will never be allowed to heal until we do something about this. I am warning all of you to stay away from these people. They are extremely dangerous. If you should spot any of them, the Hunters Council has asked that you report it immediately to them."

It was obvious that this was news to quite a few of the guests below. The murmurings grew louder and Keristrasza had to amplify her voice just a little more to be heard over the chatter.

"It is not darkness we should want in our hearts. But love. Always... Always love. Thank you all for coming. Please enjoy the refreshments and the entertainment. Stay as long as you wish and please donate what you can to the Abnormal Relief Program. Our goal is to help those who lost their homes to find somewhere warm to settle in this winter. Good night, and always remember: even within the deepest pit of darkness, you can always find even the tiniest bit of light. Hang on tightly to that light." While she spoke she turned her gaze to Raven, her gentle amber hues suggesting she was speaking directly to him. She reached out her hand to him at her last sentence and then smiled at him before pulling her hand back. She hoped he had listened and realized that despite the demons he had inside of him, she still believed in him enough to make the right choice and to fight back against his curse.

Keristrasza then turned back to the crowd, bowing her head graciously at the loud applause that followed her speech and waving to several of the people down below. The music picked up again, the crowd soon returned to what they were doing and Keristrasza basked in the warm glow radiating off of most of the people within her mansion. Even with the sudden change of mood though, and how wonderful it was that simple words picked up the spirits of so many, she still smiled sadly down at her guests. Keep hope alive... There is not much time left before all of you will be tested. She stood up straighter and placed her hands on to the balcony gazing down at Anna and Emery. And now, I must face my own test.

”Sia xarzith darastrix thurirl. Yth tir ti tepoha kiarf tairais. Svadrav wer tairais ui harkt, petranas ehtah sia vrantvrak persvek tenpiswo vur nakta coi tokeq,” she sent telepathically to Emery, gazing pleadingly down at him. ”Si mi wer okh irral dask di jiakali."

Love. Always love.

Wrath, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Envy, and Gluttony

Kill'em all boys and girls!

User Image

The Seven Deadly Sins. They had been former hunters before Rain had ******** up their mission. They took pleasure in killing all of them. The group was a family all in the business of killing monsters. They stuck together and followed their family value of everything but Humans were evil. Kill them. When the new orders had been handed down that not all the abnormal were to be killed on site but rather watched The Sins disappeared and went rouge. They still hunted and killed anything that was not human without mercy or remorse. They were not going to let this thing end without a deadly bang!

The plan had been coming together smoothly. A few of them that didn't stick out were mingling as waiters and servers for food and drink, moving through the crowd in uniform to not be noticed. The people who had used them were dead and gone so they wouldn't be missed. Pride led the operation as always and he was the main spotter for it. The others just assisted and those that were too stand outish like Gluttony were in hiding in their set aside room they had gone into without permission or anyone noticing through the window. On the floor with him was Lust, Greed, and Envy. Sloth was elsewhere with his high powered rifle ready and waiting like he did best. Gluttony and Wrath were in the room getting all their gear ready. Pride already had his weapons and was ready at all times. That me him...very comfortable with himself.

Lust passed him and whispered that it was almost time. She had been staring at the two vampires and then that man in black. Pride growled about her not getting distracted. She retorted with how he had watched Rain most of the night. His pride made him get one last word in which was slut before he stalked away.

The family met in their side room and began to strap up. Pride was a tall handsome and well dressed man who wielded Cut down M1 rifles. Wrath was shorter with fire red hair spiked up high and black menacing clothes. He carried a large assortment of guns but mostly used a compact AK-47 with no stock, a short barrel, and a bag that could hold A LOT of ammo as a magazine. Greed Had dyed green hair that was long and slicked back. He wore as much clothing of different colors as he could without weighing himself down. Used whatever gun he had most recently gotten and in this case was two a military assault rifle with all the best stuff he could get attached to it. Lust was a wondrously gorgeous blond girl with a country look to her and she liked to were sexy brown outfits that made her look like she was more southern than she really was. Loved using knives to get close. Sloth was not present but always wore grey clothes and had long black hair, a distant look in his eyes. He didn't like to move so he used a sniper rifle. Envy was trying to copy Sloth right now and had matched herself poorly in hair and clothes which was cowboyish but came out wrong. Always copied the one she wanted most and that was Greeds weapon. Gluttony was in all black armored stuff and a helmet that was one size to small that sat on the top of his head. He was not a bright fellow at all but he made up for it while he used a short barrel rotating minigun with ammo backpack.

The group dispersed into positions. They used their room to get upstairs from another route. Lust stayed in the main room with Envy. The rest went with Pride. After the speech had concluded they made their move. Greed and pride snuck up on the guards silently. Once there was an opening Greed chucked pride over them with a foot boost. Pride flipped around in the air and landed gracefully on the banister just in front of the old dragon "My regards" Pride pulled his rifle make shift pistol out and fired off a round into her stomach at close range. The weapon was meant to be a rifle and a strong one at that. Could cut through three inch bullet proof glass at that range. The guards stunned by this did not hesitate to pull their weapons but Greed and Wrath were behind them still and ready. The two executed all the guards with rapid fire and messy head shots with their rifles.

Pride leaped backwards off the balconey and produced his second pistol. He shot all thirteen remaining rounds for the draconic female as he arced out. As his gun empties their clips popped out of the top of the gun. With a quick motion at landing Pride slammed in two fresh mags right off his custom quick loading belt that had them ready for loading right into the guns. Wrath stomped the banister upstairs and jumped up onto it Greed followed, wanting to look cool as well. They grinned down and aimed their weapons "Kill all sonsabitches!" They said in unison. Wrath opened fire at anything that looked inhuman which was everything at this point. Greed dropped down and ran along the balcony, firing as he went.

Sloth had watched it all. He watched as Lust cut down two obvious Abnormals right in front of her and went for that man in black and the two colored mask through the now terrified and screaming crowd. He also took the time to join Pride in shooting the dragon, firing a high powered round of his own towards the creature. After that he lazily sighted targets and fired when he didn't feel like adjusting any more. Envy jumped up onto a table and roared happily as she spun around and hip fired into the writhing mass around her.

It was chaos now!

Veritas grew a little tempered of his toying with the vampires as one seemed to be catching on very quickly. Instead Veritas remotely focused his attention onto Anna and let her feel his presence. He didn't have to look at her to know she had noticed him or that she had questions. Sadly enough he had no answers for her. Veritas had no way to see into or get information out of Hell directly and demon crossings had been scarce over the last year and a half or so. All the same he had questions for her. How she had been doing and such with Emery and her life. Whether she had been taking good care of his little gift to her, the matching colt style pistols with dragons engraved into the slides and swords into the grips. They were very special weapons and he wanted to know how they were. They could no longer fire their special ammunition but Rain had her own abilities to compliment them now. After all, she was something a little more than human after spending so much time in high powered Abnormal company like angels.

Elsa flicked Veritas as he sent on of his tendrils over in her direction. Rain would see it coming while no one else did only because she had been very directly exposed to his visage and powers. She would see it snaking it's way along the floor around people towards her. it would seem to look her over before sliding out of her view by her feet. Elsa blinked and slapped the back of Veritas' head with her clip board "Master! What are you doing!?" "ah! why? Just let me be woman!" Veritas grinned behind his mask and looked directly at Rain through his mask's eyes. His glided towards her in a very amused way and spoke in his suave tone "How are you My Dear? I haven't been able to watch as closely as I had promised...Been very busy with both your pet Organization and The Hunters. I have also been trying to rebuild the city's value. But enough of me...you...." She would feel that tendril touch lightly up her shin as it moved in search of something "I was wondering...how are those precious gifts I gave you?" The tendril split into two and slid along her outer thighs where she usually kept her pistol to find them.

Elsa shot Veritas glare that could curdle milk and the tendril retreated right away to about a foot away from her "I...We should talk later. I wish to talk to you face to face" His tone had been calm and playful. He had meant nothing by that tendril and she, as always, with him. Would know that he meant no sexual or emotional harm by it. He just didn't have that censor that told him he was invading space. But luckily he had a calming and numbing sensation given off by his touch so not many ever minded. The tendril retreated as their host appeared. Veritas looked up to her and grinned a little wider behind his mask. As she addressed the crowd Veritas watched her and thought about her to himself. They had met and known each other long ago. Seeing her now he wished he had gone a step further and spent some time with her more closely then he had. A chuckle left his throat as she stated about darkness within. He couldn't help but note that she might have glanced at him when she said it.

The speech went on and while Veritas never clapped he gave his full support to her as he had since she started this organization. Vast money and people for her when she needed them. He would support her until the end. She said something to Emery through their minds. Veritas could only hear it like white noise because it had been his power and soul that had resurrected Emery two years ago. A part of Veritas was always with him. The pieces he got were not good. Algbo, batobot shilta ti qe bensvelk sva shio jaka shilta coi? he caught himself thinking in Draconic. Veritas was staring for woman he had known long ago now. He was searching for her eyes with his. His mask had been slipped off and an impossibly perfect handsome face was smiling happily for her.

Then it happened. Veritas' face snapped to shock. Elsa nearly dropped her clipboard because Veritas never let negative emotions show on his face. Veritas watched as the scene folded out in horror. He crouched down and was ready to bound up to where Keristrasza was but something intercepted him. A knife thrown. Veritas' mask was back on and the girl in browns was smirking at him and licking her lips. Veritas grimaced behind the mask. He knew who she was all too well. He'd have to kill her before he could go elsewhere. Actually he had to help the guest before anything. Black tendril ripped out of his back. They were about as thick as an arm and they moved blindingly fast, they swam through the crowd and slammed up against every moveable table there. He had gotten these table for a reason as they were bullet and explosive proof..just in case. They were flipped so that people could find cover behind their large surface from the upper floor and the windows. But they were not perfect at all. this was a powder keg with all these abnormal with powers to use but nothing specific to target. They might think all the humans were in on it.
