Year 2108

↛Earth is on the verge of collapsing. The world population has dropped dramatically since the last hundred years. The immune system of all humans, who all became obsessed with bacterias, had fallen to a new virus; the Excidia virus.

↛Fortunately, or unfortunately, they met the Esos. It was the first full encounter with an extra-terrestrial race and for some, they were the savior of human kind. They had a trade to propose; they saved humanity from the Excidia virus and the Humans destroyed a invading race of aliens that were threatening their existence, the Nonems.

↛But some think there’s much more hidden behind this story…

Population : 10 000 000 000

After the strange death of a group of teenagers in the north of Canada, a few more individuals die in the same atrocious death; swelling of the brain that finishes by cracking the skull open. It seems the disease is spreading fast because the next day a few more nurses and doctors suffer from strange headaches. Panic rises within the people and even though the government tries to hide the facts the citizens fear the worst. Canada is the first to be quarantined.

Population : 6 000 000 000

In ten years, the whole world was affected by this virus. Scientists figured it was some kind of infection of the liquid surrounding the brain. It was because of the irritating toxins the virus injected in the cells that the brain eventually swelled and collapsed against a broken skull. The process could take up to one year. The infected suffered a great deal through the sickness before dying in a horrible way. Survivors are forced to be cautious in everything they do. Water must be boiled, they must wear masks and abandon all contact with people believed to be sick. The society has regained some kind of comfort, but the lost is great.

Population : 3 000 000 000

Just as the human kind started to grow stronger and started living with this virus in mind, it mutated. It infected rapidly half of the world population, killing 3 billion people in seven years. Scientists still can’t find any solution to the problem.

==== ☠ 2108
Population : 2 000 000 000

The survivors have all been moved to Canada. It was now called Mother Ground. The cold air seems to have an effect on the virus and it deals less damage in cold countries. The technology continues to expand in all domains. Flying cars are yet to come but the technology allows a better quality of life. The scientists didn’t figure out the virus yet although they understand it better. All health research is turned to the Excidia virus. It’s on June 6th that the Esos were first spotted in Earth’s atmosphere. Although research had proven other life forms lived in the universe it’s the first contact with aliens.

This is where the story begins.

At first, the whole population felt under attack. As they were only a few humans left they were sent in isolated parts of the globe for five years. They didn’t loose contact with the Mother Ground and it seems they were negotiating something with the Esos. Only a few Elites had stayed behind to talk sense into these strange beings. What was said there at this moment was never repeated to those survivors.

Eventually, they were brought back and faced the decision of the Elites. The Esos had the solution against the Excidia virus. They knew that virus as their kind had been partially extinct due to it. They said it came from another alien; the Nonem. They said the Nonem sought for a new planet to inhabit because their population was exponential. The Esos would cure the Humans but the condition was that the Humans were to kill the Nonems as the Esos were too weak to do so.

So scientists have worked out a plan. Humans didn't want to loose their population, neither did the Esos. So they crossed some genes in between the two species to create a strange human race. They look like humans, but they have inherited some of the Esos skills.

You are six mutated soldiers that are on their departure towards this galaxy where the Nonems dwell. You have grown up to age 25 and have been fully trained on Earth. You do have a normal life, although your social skills are low. Keep in mind you were trained by humans so you tend to favor their kind. Also think about the fact that your existence is one that serves the war only.
