Demon Hunters: Far West O/A

Many centuries ago, in a time that is now ancient and long forgotten, there had existed groups, cults, and travelers commonly known as “Demon Hunters”. Ranging from being religious fanatics on the hunt to obliterate the world of demonic presence, to those who would simply lie about being hunters in order to make a few gold coins; there had always been some sort of presence that involved a human claiming to be a hunter of demons. People either believed in these people to be demon hunters, or felt this was nothing more than a hoax. But whatever the case was, there had always been someone who had claimed to be a demon hunter.

And there still are people today who claim to be demon hunters. Of course, the majority of these groups tend to be fakes or those who try but fail to catch demons. But amongst the many fakers and attempters, there exist secret groups whose goals are to always hunt demons. They are not known to the world, hidden as businesses, schools, or even hospitals, but they exist. All across this world deemed Earth, they fight and kill the same evil that has plagued this Earth since the time that humanity came into existence.

As for the creatures being hunted, it is unknown if they are creatures that come from religion itself, or are simply things that come from another world, another time, or another dimension. Whatever the case is, many continue to come to this planet and torture, feed upon, or kill humans; though not all. They are a growing threat, and it is left to the skilled and trained hunters of these creatures deemed “demons” to kill them.

Across the planet, hidden as schools, businesses, hospitals, churches and other group organizations; there exists a world wide organization by the name of “Akki Hunters”. Started by the Japanese nearly centuries ago and eventually expanded to being a secret world organization, these groups take refugee and build their homes at spots where demon presence is ever known. With many who can travel the world and go after the rogue demons, to those who stay at these “hot spots” and kill the demons before they have a chance to spread. This group secretly works across the world, making sure that humanity is safe and cannot be plagued by this evil.

This story takes place at one of the three hottest Demon spawn points on Earth. Set deep in the Nevada Desert, there lives a small town named New Aurora that is sadly built right on the hottest spawn points on the planet. With the town gradually becoming larger and having a growing access to the world beyond their little town; Akki Hunter presence is highly needed here as both a way to stop the demon presence from spreading and to protect the many people who dare live in this hot, dangerous land. Building The A.H. Boarding School as their base of operations, living here as an Akki Hunter is a challenging job. With very little time to relax, and a swarm of demons guaranteed to come out often it is no surprise that many Akki Hunters do not wish to live here.

However, those who do risk their lives and chose to live in this uncomfortable setting fight and work hard to keep this spawn point as secured as possible. For the most part, it has succeeded in being well guarded with very few deaths occurring. Still, there is the occasional powerful demon that appears and it isn’t uncommon to take some time and deal with it. But this incident is nothing like the occasional moments of powerful demons.

A new, powerful demon capable of many things has appeared within New Aurora. With its arrival, it brings many demons that know and wish to kill the Akki Hunters who reside here. With a powerful leader, and a large handful of powerful demons, a new challenge will come for the Akki hunters and for the many citizens who reside in New Aurora.

2. PM all profiles to either me or Br0k3n_Dr34m3r
3. This is a literate role play, which means no ** for actions, use “” for talking, use proper punctuation and capitals, and make sure that one liners never come into existence
4. Font size minimum is 9, and avoid using bright colors to post with.
5. Respect all role players, meaning don’t be rude to one another and no OOC fights
6. There is violence in this role play, but don’t go beyond gory. No killing off other people’s character LESS they agree. No godmodding either!
7. There is romance in this role play, neck and above people, no lower. AND NO TAKING TO PMs, you stick with us and follow Gaia rules
8. Fowl language is likely to appear, but avoid cussing like a sailor
9. Make the PM title “Jim the Silly Worm”
10. Maximum number of characters one can own is 2; please use both
11. Before you create a character, look into who is who. If I see too many people as a demon/Akki Hunter/human I WILL close off that area so we can get a balance
12. Please vary the ages. I don’t want every character being teenagers (AKA 15-17) I want variety and add the drama llama in you PM

Akki Hunter Rules:
(Basic information that is needed to know for those who want to be Akki Hunters)

arrow To be an Akki Hunter, you must either:

arrow No Akki Hunter can be a demon, devil or be possessed by a demon LESS they have been cleared with the heads at the main Organization building in Tokyo, Japan
arrow Every Akki Hunter unless they are a Head Akki Hunter must have a Head Akki Hunter or Head A.H. to report to
arrow Any Akki Hunter that goes rogue can and will be brought up in front of the council and can be punished from their rank dropped (Head A.H. to basic Akki Hunter, etc) or even banished
arrow Any Akki Hunter who tells a human about what they do can be banished and even imprisoned (imprisonment being the worst punishment) LESS a solution is made

Main Settings

Arthur Hundan or A.H. Boarding School: A very large mansion built some ways outside of New Aurora, it is the base of operations for the Akki Hunters in Nevada and is hidden as a school named after a non-existent person for “special students” . The main floor to the house is the living room, kitchen, and all around public area for students. It is also where the Head Akki Hunter’s office is. The floors above are all bedrooms, with each floor usually being for one gender (an all girls/boy floor). The last two top floors are where the Head Akki Hunter and his/her helpers sleep. The basement and any floor below that is where the Akki Hunters train, experiment on demons, and usually hospitalizes other Akki Hunters (this is because an Akki Hunter going to a public hospital with inhuman wounds can raise suspicion). There is also a secret underground passage that leads to an Akki Hunter owned Diner as a way to escape the mansion if attacked or take wounded Akki Hunters right to help. It can also lead to three points in the desert (a dead tree and rock, four rocks, and a dead tree are where the passages are).

New Aurora: A recently built down named after a ghost town in Nevada, this town is still so small that the people here make money that could not likely pay for housing if they chose to move outside of New Aurora. It isn’t a horrible town though; the majority makes very good money from tourists coming to see the town for its old design, not forgetting that the money they make here average is enough for a home and a good life in New Aurora. Including for a town that seems to have some odd fashions and a country town style, it seems to be growing in both size and population. This is good for the town, the larger it gets the more money people can make. But it is also bad for the Akki Hunters. The larger the population, the more lives they need to care for AND the harder it is to catch a demon. In a tiny town, almost everyone knows everyone so it’s easy to know who the demon is when a sudden new person comes and lives there. But when the population gets too big, than it becomes a problem.

The Desert: There is not much to say about the Desert. It’s just a wide, dusty, dirt covered land with little wild life and a few dead bushes here and there. The entire area itself is nearly surrounded by massive hills, but there is a large gap in two areas which allows access to New Aurora and the rest of the world. You’ll find the more secluded people live out here.

The Spring: A sort of oasis in this desert area, it’s actually a large lake that seems to sustain a good amount of life in that sector. The area around the lake is surrounded by trees, and it is found just near the edge of one of the hills. As the trees grow further away, they seem more dead and improperly watered.

The Pit: A deep cave nearby The Spring, it goes into one of the very large hills and leads down into where the spawning pit for most demons are. Usually the majority of demons and devils can be found here in the deep paths they’ve made. There are some caves in all over the hills as well that are used as demon homes.

D.L Business Building: This is a large “corporation” that is built by an unknown business owner just outside one of the hills. It is actually the base to the very powerful demon that has chosen to make its home here, and uses this as a front so as to avoid superstition. Due to one of its lackeys actually BEING a business owner, the company is technically legitimate and so it’s near impossible to tell that this place is the main base for a powerful demon.

Fun fact (Half human/half demons vs. Devils)

Half Human/Half Demon: These are people who have one parent that is a human and another who is a demon. These people are usually born with powers (though a human can have a power and NOT be half demon) and may have abnormalities that normal human's usually can't have (e.g. natural purple hair, red eyes, etc)

Devil: A Devil is a human and a demon fused together through the demon's magic (the demon strength determines how strong the final form is). They are noticeable by normal human features (green eyes, brown hair, etc) with additions such as tails, wings, claws, or whatever the original demon had. The Demon usually dies in the fusion leaving the person being the dominate one except for occasions with stronger demons. What makes a Devil different from a Half Human/Half Demon is that a a half human/half demon is a single being born and has a demon gene and human gene. A Devil is two people combined together to create one entity which its genes combine to create a new creature. Thus a person born of a demon and human is NOT a Devil. But a person fused together with a demon IS a devil.

If a half human/half demon tried to fuse with a demon to become a devil, the human gene dies and the person becomes full demon.

Controllable Characters/NPCS:
(These characters EXCEPT the head demon can be taken. If a character has been taken, the title will be removed. If they aren't taken, than they are played as uncontrolled characters.)

Head Akki Hunter: The Head Akki Hunter for the group in Nevada, he/she is strong but not godly and still cannot defeat powerful demons easily. Though they are certainly stronger than an average Akki Hunter. (Addition: Keep in mind that obviously he/she won't be a teenager or young adult, he/she will be a full grown person.)

Adult Helper: This is a retired Akki Hunter who tends to travel a lot and make their life out of whatever they do now. They come to New Aurora and help most of the time with medical or other assistance


The Demon Lord: A very powerful demon that has finally escaped from wherever demons come from, it has come to earth to gradually destroy and take over it. As a powerful demon, it is quite smart and has logically found a way to hide itself. Gathering powerful demons who wish to work with it in destroying humanity. It is powerful, however the trip to Earth has exhausted it. This means that it is in hiding to gather power while it also gathers an army to help destroy all Akki Hunters and rule the Earth.

(This character cannot be taken for 2 reasons. One is that this character is powerful and no one in the RP should control the character officially as it can lead to problems. The Second is that this character is hidden for most of the role play, no one would have fun role playing as them being all alone with very little interaction. Only Broken and I can control this character as an NPC)

Story Updates

exclaim Our story begins on a calm day in New Aurora when Rollo is strolling through the streets of the city. Bored, he enters a cafe and takes a seat not knowing that things are about to get interesting. Meanwhile, deep in the desert, a demon stirs and climbs her way from her twenty year imprisonment. Thirsty, she makes her way through the hot desert to the lake where she satiates her thirst, but her hunger remains. It's time to feed so off to the city she goes. While hunting in her disguised form, Rollo senses her and begins to follow. Driven by her hunger, the demoness Simone aka Syri lashes out at the hunter as they brawl for a short while, disrupting the peace of New Aurora. As Rollo tries to lead her out of the town, she doubles back and finds a host to feed upon!
exclaim Rollo decides to visit a fellow Akki hunter and stops by Kiri's house...is there trouble in the air? Apparently not, the two decide to head back to town to grab a bite to eat. Meanwhile the demon lackeys at the new corporation are preparing to stir up their own trouble. The Two head lackeys have made their way into New Aurora with agendas of their own! Simone too makes another appearance claiming two more victims. Most seem to think she is being sloppy, for her, though, she is merely going about life as she once knew it. Hate to tell her, but times have drastically changed. So...what will happen next?
exclaim Well things are certainly heating up in little New Aurora. Kiri and Rollo are enjoying a nice lunch out when they are approached by Chris, a devil in town. Soon after they slip away to investigate the deaths caused by Simone. Meanwhile more demons are appearing in the city and wandering around as Simone and Chris have a meeting and chat and Lucifer and Eloi run into one another. After investigating and realizing they're out matched, Kiri and Rollo head to the Springs for a little downtime, but their fun is soon interrupted as three individuals make their way there: Simone, Chris, and a third demon Sorren. Simone and Chris arrive and start a fight right away, Simone having a score to settle with Rollo. Another human is on his way, unknowingly, toward the Springs. This seems to be the place to be! What will happen now?
exclaim Okay me slacking on my jobs here...to bring everyone back up to date! umm stuff happened, fighting went on, people escaped and parted ways. Rollo's arm is injured and currently healing as he stays at Kiri's place a few days. Simone has a nice chat with Xavier, who thinks he might be just imaging things. Now Kiri, Rollo, and a third Akki hunter (Ella) are preparing to inflitrate the demon HQ under the guise of looking for work. Meanwhile we learn that Kiri has a past with Eloi that left her almost dead and that she has to take medicine every morning to stay alive! sooo that's what's been happening in Demon Hunters: Far West!

The memories, still so strongly embedded into her mind's eye. The betrayal, the paint, the loneliness, all the emotions piled inside her body and simply trapped for so long. Trapped just as she had been in the frozen waste of her imprisonment. However, now was the time for her to rise once again. Deep within the desert the earth would start to tremble, the animals nearby scattering from freight alone at the strange anomaly. The winds would kick up sand creating a small sand storm in the middle of the desert. The speeds of the winds mimicking a lonely cry, or perhaps that was a real cry of pain and suffering. Suddenly, from the dislodged sands, a hand sprung from the ground pulling behind it the rest of a once entombed body. Gasping for air, a young woman with strange red eyes and pale skin climbed from the earth itself after 20 years of isolation. The winds whipped around her naked body as she finally stood, taking in her first breath of fresh air in so long. Yet the only thing running through her mind was the pain as she let out a frustrated cry and fell to her knees as if she were a newborn child. The wind finally settled down as it fell upon her and clothing materialized upon her figure.

Looking at her hands she realized she was finally free. This strange woman who had crawled from the sands also had strange, unnatural, features; the most notable being the wolf like ears and bushy tail. Wandering through the desert heat, her parched mouth desired water to satiate her deep thirst. Stumbling across the sands, she fell forward under shade finally coming across what appeared to be some sort of oasis. At first she thought her eyes deceived her, but soon she found it was no trick. Hearing the faint running of water, she let her senses and natural urges guide the way as she came upon a Spring that fed the small oasis its life force. Plunging herself into it, she bathed her skin and quenched her thirst. After rising from the waters, feeling newly refreshed, the demoness had only one more thing to satiate, her undying hunger. Hugging a current of wind she rose into the air and over looked what appeared to be a city a ways off. A grin spread slowly across her lips, "I'm back..." she said in a soft tone with a strange old accent to her voice. Laughter escaped her lips and would almost be carried upon the winds as she landed back on the ground and shifted into her fox form. Three large, white, tails flowing gracefully behind her like the wind as she took off toward the city of New Aurora. There was a new demon in town, and she was hungry.

Rollo laid upon his bed within his room, staring intently at the ceiling. He was bored beyond belief, since it seems that things were starting to slow a little. However he didn't want any demons to appear either, he did want to keep the world safe. He sighed heavily after a minute of laying there, rolling to his side as he looked to the window. Perhaps he should get out of bed and go for a walk? Lazing about would do no good, and he wasn't tired enough for a nap. With a loud yawn and a long stretch, Rollo moved himself out of bed. Quickly adding a t-shirt over his bare chest before heading downstairs. He waved hello to the many other Akki Hunters or trainees as he went from the third floor to the main room. Many of these kids and fellow hunters he saw as "siblings", even though he wasn't legally or even blood related to them. But nevertheless, he cared for them.

Slipping on some sandals, Rollo took the jeep out to the little town in hopes of finding something to do. He didn't like the name of the town, New Aurora. He had heard of the original town before, and he didn't like the idea of this town be renamed after a ghost town. It just seemed to be a bad sign to Rollo. With where New Aurora was, and with what happened to the old town, it just seemed like that would be the fate of it. At least, Rollo hoped not. That was why he was here, why the other Akki Hunters were here. It was uncomfortable weather and usually stressful work, but they certainly kept these people as safe as they could and kept these demons from spreading across the world. And Rollo would make sure that this little town would not be destroyed.

Eventually arriving, he parked the jeep, locked the door and climbed out as he went for a walk. Already the weather was feeling a little too hot for him. But Rollo had to admit that he was lucky. Being a water user with the side ability to occasionally use ice, his body was naturally cooled down. In comparison to some others, he was a lot more cooled down than the others. Especially when you compared him to a fire user. So he had no reason to complain about the weather. As he walked on, he spotted a small diner. Deciding to go in for a drink and relax. That could get him something to do for a bit.

The kitsune like creature continued to make her way toward the city. To the normal human she wouldn't be visible, but she wasn't aware that there were any hunters around. They would be the only ones, or most likely, to actually see her for what she was. Arriving close to the edge of the town, she shifted back into her human-like form. Her ears twitched a bit in the heat as her tail swayed and gave her a soft breeze. She created an illusion to hide her demonic features and made herself present to the human eye.

Twenty years she had been cruelly imprisoned! She needed something to sustain her unyielding hunger! Licking her lips a moment she stepped into the streets of the growing city. A few eyes moved her way, but she ignored them as she walked. Some of it might have been the strange clothing she was wearing. It was more reminiscent of the old days than something that might be worn in the present. She was far from aware of this. Glancing around the strange tall buildings, she probably looked like a strange, lost, confused, tourist. Standing in the middle of the street, a car blasted its horn at her as she jumped out of the way. She was tempted to blast the strange contraption in half, but something told her this wasn't the place or time. Keeping to the sidewalks, she made her way down scouting for her best potential target in the few people out and about.

Grabbing himself a chocolate milkshake and placing himself in a seat at the front near the window, Rollo slowly worked his way through the cool drink. Usually when he was with friends, he'd go through the drink pretty fast and would go through three more before he and his friends would finally leave. However, when he was alone he would really slow down his progress and try to kill time as best as he could. He looked outside at occasion, trying to spot something that seemed to interest him. The most he could really entertain himself with was noticing that there seemed to be more tourists here than usual. It wasn't all that entertaining, but it certainly got Rollo to think. Which gave him more to do... for now. As he mused quietly about why anyone would really want to visit this place... other than to view the old style the town was built in, he felt a soft vibration from the pocket of his pants. His hands flung straight for his pockets, seeming too eager to grab his cellphone. He was just about to flip it open and see who was on the other line, but realizing it was his energy censor that had been built in the phone, he sighed a little.

He was hoping it would be a friend calling to see if he wanted to see a movie or something, but it seemed that his "break" was over. Well, more like slow start. This wasn't a break as he had fought a demon yesterday and was likely going to fight one today. It just happened that the time it took for Rollo to be sent on a mission or catch a demon himself seemed to take longer. This signaled a slow down in demon presence, though certainly not a stop.

"At least I got something to do..." he grumbled, attempting to now finish his drink in one suck. He was able to do it, but as he paid and left the coolness of the drink caused Rollo to get brain freeze, and he wobbled uncomfortably for a minute before calming.

Holding his cellphone in his hands and hid it as best as he could so as to not bring unwanted attention, he followed where the vibrations grew faster. Though upon spotting the demon he really had no reason to follow the vibrations. Either demons were getting stupid, or this one just wasn't thinking. Human looking as it was and while one could assume that she was a tourist, Rollo knew tourists well. This did not look like the average tourist. The old design and very out-of-place style was an obvious sign that this had to be the demon. Or, he could hope. The vibrations certainly were going off, and the only one who even could be a potential demon was the girl that was before him.

"Time to take this slowly..." he told himself, deciding to stare at some electronics in a store window to pretend he was just musing about.

He made sure his presence was as hidden as his abilities and skill allowed him to. The demon didn't look strong, but he didn't want to make a mistake. Besides, it wasn't wise to assume all of his enemies were weak just because he had a 100% success rate for sometime. Even IF he was successful in killing the occasional powerful demon... with some help... and it did leave him exhausted and battered. Standing there, he waited for the demon to pass, making sure he was just at an angle where he could see her. If she DID notice him glancing to her, he'd use his ace in the hole. Eye her as he usually would with any pretty girl. Including this time he didn't mind, she was a looker that was for sure. Certainly better that some other incidents. He shivered at the memory, even remembering that he had to actually seduce a few of the hideous creatures in order to get them away and kill them.

"... and remember to never allow any of them to follow. It would do us, and especially me, no good if you had foolishly allowed those pathetic mortals to find me." spoke the being simply known as the Demon Lord.

Eloi and his fellow head lackey stood before the figure that was hidden in the shadows. Neither one knew what gender this being was, for its voice could be both male or female. Including the shadows darkened the figure so much, neither could get a good view on their master. This was worrying to a degree, Eloi preferred to know who he was being employed by. However, with the awards being worth the risk and the fact that Eloi could leave any time, it was worth taking a chance. Both bowed when it looked to be that their Lord was complete with the speech it had, the two heading off to do their own work. As the other head lackey made their way to check on their little business, Eloi decided to go for a walk and scout out New Aurora. Taking the pitch black car, he drove his way to the town, musing a little on how he could catch these Akki Hunters.

Since Eloi was not a full demon yet, he lacked certain abilities that others had. While a strong demon could catch a mild hint of energy around a powered Akki Hunter or other demon, if an attempt was made to hide the aura than Eloi would not find them. Of course, a benefit to this was that he himself did not have one. But nevertheless, his goal was to catch strong Akki Hunters and harvest what he could of them in order to gain their powers. And only the best would hide themselves, so he didn't know how he could catch them. Including these types were likely to be very strong, attacking the place and trying to lure them out would NOT be a wise move. No, it was best he monitor New Aurora and see if they showed themselves. He'd have to put all of his effort into detecting their power in the area. A few were bound to reveal themselves.

"I should wait first. Pick out the ones who seem the strongest." he told himself. If he just chose the first Akki Hunters that showed themselves, it might risk having him chose a bunch of weaklings. Better he let a bunch of them show themselves, then pick them by the best. "Just like shopping at a grocery store..." he snickered to himself, grinning as he arrived to the town.

Every now and then someone would pass by and give her a strange look, turning to their partner, if there was one, and whispering something as their eyes followed her. She noticed that the clothing choices seemed radically different than her own. No matter. She had no time to change that at the moment. Her only thoughts were to find a target and feed upon them. Regain some of her lost strength. She still had considerable strength, since she was able to break free of her twenty year imprisonment, but she was still weakened by the ordeal and needed to feed upon human souls and possibly flesh to regain her lost strength. Rest alone would not suffice.

As she was wandering her senses became alert to a hunter nearby. She never stopped or faltered in her steps even as her body tingled. They were following her, and they were close. This wasn't a pansy hunter either, they were a stronger one and a smart one. Most new time hunters would strike right away and usually would end their lives by her hand right then and there. This one, however, was following and keeping a tab on her. A faint grin spread across her lips. Perhaps she could have a little fun. Her mouth almost watered at the thought of feasting upon a hunter after all these years. They always did taste the best.

Still looking as though he was musing about the electronics, he began to feel a little unnerved. She didn't look like she had spotted him, seeing as he WAS putting a good amount of effort into blocking out his aura. So simply pinpointing him wasn't easy. However, that didn't mean that a strong demon couldn't sense him. He hoped that this wasn't a very strong demon. If it was, it might be able to break through and pinpoint where he was. That was not a good sign for Rollo If he allowed it to find him, it would have the upper hand. And for an Akki Hunter, that was bad news. Sighing, he moved on to another window after a minute. He was careful to pace himself, not wanting to move when she moved but moving when she seemed far enough. Plus it did get boring, and some times he'd move even IF she didn't move.

He was waiting for her to make the first move, leave or sneak off. He wasn't going to pick the fight, and in truth he was going to think this through. He was still going to kill it. In Rollo's mind, all demons were blood thirsty monsters and no matter how tame one seemed he never trusted a full blooded demon. So even IF she didn't seem violent or attack anyone yet, he wouldn't wait and risk having her go and kill someone.

"Oh, that's a nice price..." he stated, partially to sound natural and actually finding the price on the shoes he saw to be pretty good. T Hey certainly didn't look cheap.
