    PROLOGUE

“If you can’t face the wolves, don't go into the forest”

Werewolves have always been depicted as beasts throughout the history of mankind. Savage and untamed, their claws tear through flesh as their maw is splattered with blood. The truth is far from that. Werewolves look and behave just like any other normal human the only difference being the wolf form they are blessed with.

When a werewolf is born, their status amongst the species is determined by a birthmark. The mark will indicate that the werewolf is either an Alpha, Beta, or an Omega. An Alpha werewolf is the superior of the species. They are strong, dominant, aggressive, and carry a high fertility rate. The Betas of the werewolf world are the ‘middle-class’. They are not overly submissive, but are not as strong as their superior counterparts. The Omega werewolf is at the bottom of the pecking order. They are submissive by nature, smaller in size, and carry a calming ability that helps keep the balance in a pack structure.

Over the course of thousands of years, Omega werewolves are becoming more common. This seemed to be a blessing at first, werewolves always looking for the balance in their packs. However, Omegas have an extremely low fertility rate which meant that eventually the werewolf population would begin to decrease.

    THE DOWNFALL

“We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin”

Over the last one hundred years the werewolf population has decreased drastically. The werewolves not only had to worry about low fertility rates, but the council that made and enforced the werewolf laws had decided that revealing their true identities to the humans was a good idea.

It was an unforgettable day for humanity when werewolves exposed themselves to the world and expressed their desire to live peacefully alongside humans. Some humans were curious to learn more about these supernatural creatures, some were suspicious of them, and some felt that they should be eliminated like the beasts they are.

In the last ten years, 75% of the werewolf population in North America has been wiped out. Whether it was the humans or some other supernatural being, it is evident that the werewolves are a dying breed.

    CALL FOR CHANGE

“Old ways won’t open new doors”

Haven, a small town located in Northwestern Canada, borders the homes of the Skoll and Hati pack. They are two of the oldest werewolf packs in North America. They both have high influence on the werewolf community and are well respected in the supernatural world. This town is also ground zero for “The Council’. All meetings that are called are hosted within the town of Haven.

Over the last few months, the Skoll Pack has called a meeting with the council several times. The Skoll Pack is made up of mostly Alpha and Beta werewolves. They have very few Omega left in their ranks. Skoll has been monitoring the decrease in the werewolf population and have tied it to the Omegas of the werewolf world. They claim that the omegas are not helping produce strong bloodlines, which has caused werewolves to become increasingly weaker both mentally and physically. They have called for the werewolves to put a ban on Omega’s mating and potentially even remove the Omegas permanently.

The Hati Pack has countered their claim and believes that this is false. They are a pack of Alpha, Beta and Omega all co-existing with one another and do not believe their blood-lines to be weak. They believe that the Skoll pack has clouded judgement and is just seeking to create an unnecessary genocide amongst their race.

The council having stayed neutral has leaned towards the Skoll Pack as they have been able to produce facts and evidence, meanwhile the Hati Pack is asking the council to trust their word. However, trying to be fair, the council has given the Hati Pack one month to come up with clear evidence that the Omegas of the werewolf world are not the cause for the sudden decrease in population.

    CHAPTER ONE

“When the cold wind blows, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives”

With the feud between two of the werewolf community’s most powerful packs, an enemy has taken it upon themselves to move in. The Fenrir Pack, lead by a witch who was turned a werewolf, has begun their pursuit in eliminating the werewolves. The witch has taken it upon herself to create a new breed of werewolves, stronger than any other. She believes that they will be the superior supernatural race, and in order to accomplish that she must eliminate the current werewolves. Her plans are to either get the werewolves to convert to her new breed, or simply kill them.

The Fenrir Pack has moved into the borders of Haven keeping their presence unknown until the moment is right.

NOTES: Skoll is currently not accepting Alpha status werewolves.

    Anatomy

    • A werewolf’s wolf form is approximately the size of a polar bear. In this link, there is a chart to compare a werewolf to a human.
    • The chart above also lists the sizing of the various stages of a werewolf.
    • Werewolves possess no physical differences to normal humans in their human forms.
    • Male werewolves tend to have more muscular builds in their human form.
    • Female werewolves tend to have leaner builds in their human form.
    • Werewolves can survive off of human food, but it’s not as satisfying as a hunt. There is no restriction on what they can and cannot eat.
    • In regards to the above, it will take a lot more alcohol to get a werewolf intoxicated than it does a regular human.
    • When werewolves die, they will remain in the form they were killed in.

    Birth

    • Werewolves can only give birth in human form.
    • Werewolves cannot shift after the first three months of pregnancy.
    • For roleplay sake, those who are pregnant will be approached by me to speed up their pregnancy. This will give others a chance to play the child and build character development.
    • A newborn werewolf will grow to the age of five within the first week of their life. This is so that roleplayers can play the children and we don’t hold the mothers up for months.
    • In regards to the above, some werewolves do not possess the ‘growth gene’. This is only for characters pre-made and not born within the roleplay.
    • After the first week of life, the body’s aging mechanism becomes normal. This chart will show you the process of the aging gene.
    • Twins are extremely rare in werewolves.
    • When a werewolf is born they possess one of three marks. These marks will determine their status within the werewolf society.
    • If a newborn werewolf is not wanted, the parents or Alpha of the pack in which it was born into must deliever it to council and the council will find it a new home.

    Communication

    • Werewolves in wolf form can interact with other werewolves in wolf form through speech or telepathy.
    • Telepathy will only work when a PACK member is within a 50 foot range.
    • In order for there to be a telepathic connection in human form, they must be family, mated, or blood bonded. This connection has no distance boundaries.
    • The Alpha (rank) werewolf can connect telepathically to anyone in his/her pack at any time whether in human or wolf. However, he/she cannot receive any messages back.
    • Please use your normal speech format when you are interacting in speech and italics when using telepathy.
    • When in wolf form, werewolves have the ability to communicate with other creatures around them through speech.
    • Werewolves cannot communicate to humans through speech (this includes werewolf form to human form, they must use telepathy).
    • The telepathic connections can be severed. (No longer apart of the pack, death, divorce, etc. You will need to have valid reason to severe the bonds. You cant just shut it off and turn it back on either)

    Healing

    • Werewolves possess accelerated healing. Although their healing rate is much quicker than humans, they do not heal instantaneously and they are certainly not immortal.
    • Any would that would be mortal on a human would kill a werewolf as well, e.g. beheading, slit throat, knife to the heart. However, werewolves are at less of a risk from blood loss because their accelerated healing means that their blood clots more quickly.
    • The recovery rate for werewolves is around 10x quicker than humans. E.g. If a broken bone takes 8 weeks to heal in a human, a werewolf would heal in around 5 days.
    • A rule of thumb to make things simpler: small cuts heal in a few hours, large cuts heal in about a day and life-threatening injuries heal in approximately a week.

    Mating

    • Mateship occurs when two werewolves have bonded and have chosen to take each other as their lifelong mates.
    • Mateship must be approved by The Council.
    • Mateship between different packs is allowed, The Council will determine which pack the couple will move to once they are officially mates. (Cannot be mates with the Fenrir Pack)
    • Intercourse can occur either in human form or wolf form. You cannot engage in intercourse with one in human and one in wolf.
    • Conceiving a pup is much less likely in wolf form than in human.
    • A pregnant werewolf can only shift into her wolf form during the first three months. Afterwards, her body will not allow her to shift in order to keep the child safe.
    • The likelihood of a werewolf x human resulting in a successful pregnancy is extremely low. Even if pregnancy occurs, the mother will usually miscarry. Another thing to note is the only way a potential successful pregnancy can occur is by a male werewolf and human female.
    • In the rare occurrence of a live child being born to a werewolf/human mating, the child cannot carry the werewolf gene.

    Shifting

    • Werewolves are able to shift whenever they please. The only time they don’t have a choice is on the night of a full moon, during which they will be stuck in wolf form from dusk to dawn.
    • Shifting can sometimes be triggered by intense emotional stress, such a rage or grief.
    • Adrenaline is the primary stimulant for uncontrolled shifting, part of the body’s fight or flight mechanism.
    • Children often have a hard time controlling their shifting for the first few years of their lives.
    • Shifting is a very painful process. Bones break and reshape in order to form the structure of a wolf. This video is an example, however the process in the roleplay is slightly faster and characters shouldn’t worry about ripping clothing.
    • It hurts more to shift back into human form than it does to shift into wolf form.
    • Pain lasts for a few hours after shifting back to human form, and the whole body usually feel stiff and sore.
    • Clothing is always shredded when they shift because of their increase in body mass.
    • Werewolves between the ages of 4-9 take the form of a pup, between the ages of 10-14 take the form of a yearling and at the age of 15 they are fully grown.

    Senses

    • While in human form, werewolves have slightly enhanced scent and hearing. They can tell pack scents from one another while in human form.
    • Packs have certain scents about them, it distinguishes the packs between one another. Outsiders have no specific scent.
    • While in werewolf form they have all the abilities of a normal wolf but enhanced.

    Submission

    • It is an unspoken law amongst werewolves to show submission in the presence of a higher rank, or when the werewolf is in trouble.
    • In wolf form, high ranked wolves may display dominance by raising their tail or holding their head high. In extreme cases, they may bite a lower rank on the muzzle and ears or even pin them to the ground to display dominance.
    • In human form, submission is usually shown by being respectful, avoiding eye contact or admitting a wrongdoing.
    • Lower ranks may be punished for insubordination.
    • Omegas are often the ‘punching bags’ of the pack. They are prone to being attacked at random. However, some packs may have omegas as their peacekeepers.

    Turning

    • When a human is bitten by a werewolf of the opposite sex, there is a chance the human may turn. However, not all humans can survive the turning process.
    • If a human survives the turning process, they will turn into a full werewolf within 24 hours.
    • Those that are turned will have no control over their shifting until the next full moon.
    • The turning process begins with the human feeling sickly and poorly during the first hours. After that, the symptoms worsen - it is a sign that the body is trying to fight the change. At this stage most of the humans die as the body is not able to handle the pain and exhaustion.
    • The symptoms will only continue to worsen until the process is complete or the human suffers a painful death.
    • Once the transformation is complete, the newly turned werewolf will possess a mark to determine its status in society.

    Alpha Werewolf

    • Alpha werewolves are the “Upper-Class” amongst the werewolf species.
    • They are superior by nature.
    • Most Alpha wolves come from old & strong bloodlines. Many of their families are wealthy and family names have been around for hundreds of years.
    • They are dominant, aggressive and often stronger than the Beta and Omega Werewolves.
    • They carry high fertility rates.
    • There are a low number of Alpha werewolves left in the world. (20%)
    • Mark of an Alpha Werewolf - Click

    Beta Werewolf

    • Beta Werewolves are the ‘Middle-Class’ amongst the werewolf species
    • They are a mix of both Alpha and Omega. Not too dominant and not too submissive.
    • They carry low fertility rates.
    • There are a high number of Beta werewolves. (50%)
    • Mark of the Beta Werewolf - Click

    Omega Werewolf

    • Omega werewolves are the ‘Lower-Class’ amongst the werewolf species.
    • They are submissive by nature.
    • They are smaller sized werewolves but that does not mean they are weaker.
    • Omegas possess a unique calming and healing ability that helps keep the balance in a pack structure.
    • An Omegas presence gives a sense of peace/calming to other werewolves around them. When an Omega touches another being (human or supernatural) they are able to feel whatever emotions that being is feeling. The touch allows the omega to either take that emotion away from that being (mostly fear, stress, anger, worry) and replace it with another emotion (likely tranquility, happiness, peace). However, whatever emotion the omega takes away from someone, they will feel it.
    • Along with the calming ability, an Omega has the ability to decrease ones pain (from wound, sickness, etc). They can only accomplish this by touching another being (their ability works on humans and other supernaturals). However, just like their calming ability any pain they take from another being they receive. Their pain tolerance is higher than any other werewolf.
    • It is forbidden for Omegas to use their powers for bad.
    • 30% of all werewolves are omegas.

    Shared Traditions

    Death
When a werewolf passes away, their bodies are to be transported to the tomb below the Temple of Lupen, only the Alpha and family members are allowed to attend as the tomb is forbidden to be entered at unless laying someone to rest. The alpha of the pack will read a passage engraved in the walls of the tomb once the body is in its final resting place.

When the Alpha and family members return to their pack, they will gather everyone as the moon rises and in unison howl. This is to help guide the soul of the one who passed away to afterlife where they will be supposedly greeted by Lupen herself.

    Mateship
When a couple is ready to make their mateship official and become a married couple they must approach The Council. The Council must approve of their mateship and may even challenge the couple. Should the couple be of different packs, the Council will determine which pack the couple will make their home.

Once the couple has gotten the approval of the council, a wedding will be held at the temple. The council must be present for the wedding and a member from each pack will officiate the wedding. The Alpha of the pack/packs (if the couple comes from different packs) will give their blessing by providing a gift of some sort.

After the ceremony, normal wedding festivities take place until midnight. At midnight those who have attended the wedding will participate in hunt. Once the hunt is complete, the couple will share the heart of the animal they have downed. The bigger the animal, the more luck that is said to be given to the newly weds.

    Birth
Any child born within the packs will be thoroughly inspected by the packs shaman. This is to determine that the child is healthy and fit for a life as a werewolf. Once the Shaman has determined the child is in good health, the Alpha of the pack will smear the blood of himself/herself on the forehead of the child. This is said to grant the child strength and mark the child as an official pack member.

    Religion

Lupen is known as the “Goddess” of wolves. She is best described as an ethereal white wolf with eyes as pure and white as freshly fallen snow. She is believed to be the source of all good in the world, and was the one who created the first werewolf. Werewolves pray to her for guidance when they feel lost and confused. It is said that Lupen roams the earth during the full moon when werewolves cannot control their shift. Lupen is said to reside on the moon, so werewolves howl to the moon as a way of communicating with her. Some particularly religious werewolves call themselves “sons and daughters of Lupen”.

Loule is known as the “Devil” of wolves. He is described as a wolf the colour of a moonless night, with eyes as crimson as blood and a heart blacker than sin. He is believed to be the source of all evil in the world, and werewolves who stray from the path of good are said to be corrupted by Loule’s whispers. He is said to roam the earth during the new moon.

The council consists of at least six members from each pack (world wide). The council leads (NPCs) are elder werewolves that have retired from pack life for the purpose of leading the council. The current council leaders are John Hale (Skoll Pack - North American Pack), Viktor Vorne (Bjorn Pack - Hungarian Pack), Kalli Markov (Andrei Pack - Russian Pack), Dawn Jacob (Hati Pack - North American Pack). These four elders no longer have ties to their packs and must remain neutral in their decisions.

Each month (unless a meeting is called) the council meets and discusses issues amongst werewolves, mateships and anything else of relevance. The goal of the council is to keep the peace within the werewolf community and with other supernatural communities and deal with anything that could disrupt it. The council meets in a great hall on the Skoll Packs territory. This great hall, known the Temple of Lupen, is also a place of worship for those that believe in Lupen.

The Alphas of every remaining werewolf pack must attend these council meetings, however they have no influence on the meetings (alphas are not allowed to be council members). Although the Alpha’s have authority over their own packs, if the Council has a majority rule, their decision can overrule the Alpha. Council members hold no authority within their packs, however they are commonly well respected.

    Werewolf Law

The law of the werewolves has been around for hundreds of years. The council established them in order to protect the species. Some laws have been added by The Council over the years as things change. The following are the laws that all werewolves are expected to follow:

Werewolves are not to shift in front of humans.
Werewolves are not to turn humans.
Werewolves are not to kill anything but prey, unless it is self defense.
Werewolves are not to impregnate or be impregnated by a human.
Werewolves are forbidden from having intimate relationships with humans.
Werewolves are not allowed to claim mateship without the blessing of The Council.
The Packs are not to engage in any form of violence against one another. They are to respect the rules and traditions of one another.
Werewolves are forbidden to bring humans to their pack’s establishment

Failure to abide by these rules will result in punishment or death. (Determined by The Council)

    Minor Disobediences/Crimes
When minor crimes or disobediences occur, the Alpha will decide which punishment best suits the act. This can be small things such as having to watch pups, not being able to hunt or simply doing a night shift for tracker/guard. The punishments can also be as serious as being demoted from your tracker/guard rank and made a member. This would force you to take the appropriate steps to regain your rank.

    Major Disobediences/Crimes
When a werewolf commits an act worthy of outcasting or death but circumstances lead the Council to grant pity, a method of gaining absolution exists. This is known as the Path of Redemption. A series of requirements and trials is administered at the discretion of the Council. If a wolf successfully follows the path presented, they are to be forgiven of their act by all parties of this world and beyond

Helping a wolf on the Path of Redemption is absolutely forbidden. Any werewolf who is found helping the redeeming wolf must complete the Path of Redemption themselves.

    Banishment of Greed
At the very beginning of the Path of Redemption, all of a wolf’s possessions are gifted to the council. In addition, the council will demand an item to be found and brought to them before the path may be proclaimed completed. This step of the path can be a heartbreak to some, especially those with gifts from previous novices or items given them by lovers or parents. Possessions may be given back to the repenting werewolf if the council determines so.

    Banishment of Wrath
Throughout the duration of their journey towards absolution, the repenting werewolf is treated with contempt and ridicule. Few things are considered excessive when showing disrespect towards the werewolf. It is the repenting werewolf’s responsibility to take any treatment without showing aggression towards others. During one trial on the path, without any warning ahead of time, the repenting werewolf will be subjected to a blatant round of insults and injuries. Contrary to the constant attacks endured by a werewolf on the path, these will be coordinated and particularly painful. The repenting werewolf must endure without making a sound or displaying dominance or aggression. If the wolf makes any sound, even if it is only a groan, the beating restarts.

    Banishment of Pride
A werewolf on the Path of Redemption has a status lower than all. Any werewolf beyond the pup stage of life has the authority to order said werewolf, within reason. Failure to do as instructed compromises the path of redemption. In addition to the constant low status, the repenting werewolf is forced to endure a period of time in which they are treated in a way that seems most likely of insulting their pride. Often times, a novice might be treated as a pup, an adult as a novice, a warrior as a coward, or a tracker as a cripple. In accordance with the Banishment of Wrath, no outward anger or frustration may be shown despite the humiliating treatment.

    Banishment of Envy
A werewolf on the Path of Redemption is given smaller portions at pack meals, not allowed to use pack food supplies and is forced to sleep on the couches in the pack establishment as their rooms are taken away until they complete the Path of Redemption. They are not allowed to show any signs of envy as their packmates enjoy meals and sleeping arrangements. They must always appear submissive and humble.

    Banishment of Gluttony
The repenting werewolf is told to accompany the rest on a hunt. After one hunt, selected by the alpha without any prior warning, the repenting wolf is forced to forgo any meat from the kill. In accord with the Banishment of Wrath, the repenting wolf is not allowed to show anger or frustration at the abrupt denial of food.

    Banishment of Lust
If the wolf seeking redemption has a mate, the mateship is immediately severed at the start of the Path of Redemption. For the duration of the path, the repenting wolf must restrain any outward indicators of attraction towards the opposite sex. There is some leeway, since such indicators are often beyond control, but it must be clear that the wolf is actively suppressing and ignoring their desires. Flirtation and intercourse are offenses that will restart, delay, or end the Path of Redemption. Even platonic affections have a strong chance of incurring said penalties. If the repenting werewolf did have a mate, their bond is typically reestablished after completing the path

    Banishment of Sloth
For the whole duration of the Path of Redemption, the werewolf is given all the menial and humiliating tasks such as cleaning, cooking, tedious things. The werewolf is not allowed to protest or show any sign of anger or displeasure, as doing so would compromise the Banishment of Wrath and Pride. For one day during the journey towards absolution, the repenting wolf is abruptly tasked with a list of duties to be completed before they are allowed to stop for rest. The tasks are usually exhausting and time consuming. The werewolf may take as long as they need, but they will fail this step if they rest before completion.

    Alpha
The alphas are the leaders of the pack. The role is typically shared between male and female whom are mates. However, one of the Alphas is the true leader, having been born in or voted in. The true leader of the pack can overrule decisions by anyone if need be. The alphas are highly respected and nothing happens in the pack without their approval.

    Beta
The beta is the second in command and the alpha’s right hand. When the alpha is unavailable, the beta becomes the acting commander. The beta is handpicked by the alpha and they demand almost as much respect as the alpha. The beta can make certain decisions by themselves, but they will never overrule the alphas. If the alphas die with no successor, the beta automatically becomes the alpha.

    Epsilon
The Epsilon is the pack’s doctor. They are wise and well-versed in the art of healing, either with pharmaceutical or natural means. They are in charge of keeping everyone healthy and ensuring that everyone’s records are up to date. If anyone has any medical questions, they often ask the Epsilon for advice.

    Zeta
The zeta is a proficient fighter, both in human and in wolf form. They are skilled combatants who leads the warriors and make sure they are ready for battle any time. The zeta is not only in charge of training the warriors, but also the entire pack. Their job is to keep the warriors in shape and make sure everyone else can at least defend themselves.

    Sigma
The Sigma is a proficient tracker, both in human and in wolf form. They are skilled individuals who lead the Trackers. The sigma is in charge of training the trackers, and making sure the Hale pack is protected. They report to the Beta and Alpha about any unusual findings the trackers come across.

    Epsilon Apprentice
There is normally only one epsilon apprentice in each pack (but sometimes two is allowed), and they are handpicked by the epsilon themselves. The epsilon mentors this apprentice and trains them to take up the epsilon post should the epsilon ever choose to retire or leave the pack. The apprentice has to show a passion for learning and a thirst for knowledge to be considered for the post. They are usually younger members of the pack, but that is not always the case.

    Warrior
The warriors are the muscles and brute strength of the pack. They are trained fighters who are tasked to defend the pack with their lives, and sometimes escort those who cannot defend themselves. Warriors may be paired with trackers to take down particularly tricky targets, should the situation call for it.

    Tracker
The trackers are scouts who act as the eyes and ears of the pack. They frequently patrol the area, and inform the sigma of any changes they’ve observed. These are the eyes and ears of the pack. Their job is to make sure no intruders come close to the estate, as well as make sure if there are any new werewolves in town, the Sigma, Beta or Alpha are alerted.

    Member
Members have no specific roles in the pack, and they help in whatever way they can. Their jobs can be anything anyone asks of them, such as cooking and cleaning. Some of them may be labelled as lazy.

    Novice
Novices are werewolves whom are 14 years of age. The next year of their life will be spent training to gain a rank within their pack. They are typically paired up with an adult werewolf of the rank they wish to pursue. When their 15th birthday comes around, the novices will be tested. If they succeed they will be given their appropriate rank. If they fail, they will have one more chance to complete the task and if they cannot complete it after the second time they will just become a Member until they can prove themselves again. They have until they reach the age of 16 to request their novice gradutation.

    Yearling
Yearlings are werewolves between the age of 10-13. After their 14th birthday, they will be promoted to novice if they successfully complete a task set by the alpha. This happens on their birthday and is typically a task that will show them what every rank within the pack is about. It is more of a learning lesson than an actual trial.

    Pup
Pups, the life and joy of any pack, are werewolves until the age of 10. They are protected and cherished by all members.

    Elder
Elders are older members of the pack who have retired from active pack duty. They are the pillars of support for any pack, with tons of stories at their disposal and always a ready shoulder for others to lean on in times of need.

    Outsider
An outsider is a loner belonging to no pack, and are looking to join a pack. Please note that this rank is not permanent and if you make an outsider, you must have a pack in mind to join.

    Pack Background

The Skoll Pack is the oldest remaining werewolf pack in the world. They have been around for thousands of years and have carried a strong line of Alpha Werewolves with them. For the last four hundred years, the Hale name have been the Alphas of the Skoll Pack, blessed with strong sons generation after generation the Hales have had quite the impact on the werewolf community.

When the Skoll Pack came into existence they were once just Alpha werewolves. They would not allow Beta or Omega werewolves to be apart of their pack. As time went on they began to let Betas in and eventually Omegas as well. They were one of the last werewolf packs in the world to become a ‘mixed’ society pack.

Over the last one hundred years, the Hale family has begun to weed out the Omegas once more. Jonathan Hale began this motion when he was alpha and passed it down to his father John Hale. John Hale then passed the motion onto his son, the current alpha of Skoll, Seth Hale.

The Hales have strictly become an Alpha and Beta pack. They have very few Omegas left within the ranks and those that are left are treated poorly and only used to keep the balance amongst pack members. Any Omega that is born within the pack is immediately sent to the council and sent off to another werewolf pack.

Seth’s goal now is to follow in his father's footsteps and hopefully convince the council that Omegas are the reason the werewolves are dying off.

    Current Alpha(s): Seth Hale

    Traditions

The Skoll Pack is known for marking themselves with tattoos for their accomplishments. From a young age many members select meaningful tattoos to display their life story/achievements on their skin for others to see.

Marks of Strength: When a mark of strength is rewarded the pack member will pick a spot on their body to add a small ‘dot’ tattoo. When they gain more marks of strength, they will add more of these marks in the same spot (almost like a tally score). (Marks can be placed anywhere on their body). Marks of strength are given out by lead ranks, beta or Alpha. These marks are given to werewolves who show strength or prove their skill. They are easy to earn and the more marks you have the greater respect the pack has.

Marks of Valor: When a member of Skoll earns their first mark of valor they are allowed to design an arrow tattoo of their choice. However, the arrow tattoo must not have any fletchlings on the end of it. When a member gains their second mark of valor, they will add a fletchling to their arrow. Each time they gain another mark, they will continue to add to their arrow. If a member reaches 10 marks of valor, a new arrow tattoo will be rewarded to them. (Tattoo can be placed anywhere on their body). Marks of Valor are given at the discretion of the Alpha. A deed that shows great strength, bravery, etc will earn a member this mark.

First Spar: When a werewolf of the Skoll Pack turns the age of ten, as they enter their yearling stage, they will take part in their first official spar. The Skoll Pack is known for their spars amongst the werewolf community and how they focus on keeping their members fit. A wolf is hand selected by the Zeta of the pack and becomes the yearlings target. The yearling is to successfully pin their opponent for at least three seconds in order to successfully win the spar. If successful, the yearling will receive their first ‘Mark of Strength’. If a yearling successfully pins their opponent for more than 3 seconds they will also receive a ‘Mark of Valor’. Should a yearling be unsuccessful they will be asked to retake the spar within a week (Please note it is quite shameful for a yearling not to pass their first spar after two tries).

Performance Review: A year after a wolf has been placed into the role of Warrior or Tracker, the more experienced wolves of their rank assess the performance of the wolf and report to them. If there is little to criticize, a small celebration involving only wolves of that rank and their elite counterparts commences. The wolf will also receive a ‘Mark of Strength’. If the wolf performed with moderate room for improvement, the elite counterpart of the rank will discuss a plan for improving the wolf’s skill and tracking progress. If this occurs, the next year will either complete with the aforementioned celebration or another consultation with the elite.

Night of Strength and Valor: Held at the discretion of Alphas, this event is useful for assessing the overall strength of the pack, solidifying pack bonds, and blowing steam. Werewolves who wish to participate are divided based on their ability and compete in a series of spars to prove themselves. Matches are held tournament-style and are refereed by elders or other members who don’t wish to participate for one reason or another. At the end, the single victor from each group is acknowledged by the alpha. All winners of their groups will receive a ‘Mark of Valor’. Losers have gained some reputation for braving the event, and being a sore loser is worse than fearing entry altogether, so the event is a positive experience for most involved.

Novice Graduation: When a novice is ready to graduate from novice to a rank of their choice, the lead rank (Zeta or Sigma) will test the individual (or if needed a group) on their skills they have learned as a novice. The test will be harsh and will test both the mental and physical strength of the novices. High ranking wolves and some members will watch and assess but they are not allowed to help. If a novice fails their test, they will be tried again within a weeks time. They may have up to 3 tries before they are forced into the ‘member’ rank and cannot retry for another rank for at least a year.

    Pack Background

The Hati Pack is the second oldest werewolf pack remaining in the world. They were formed almost three years after the Skoll Pack was. The Hati Pack was also the first pack of werewolves to ever be lead by an Omega Werewolf. An Omega had been banished from the Skoll Pack and decided to create their own pack. It didn’t take long for others to follow their lead and before they knew it they were one of the first mixed society packs in North America.

As time went on, the Hati pack came under rule by the Kelly family. Cousins to the well known Hale family, they had a strong Alpha bloodline however they would not discriminate against the Omega wolves as the Skoll Pack had.

To this day the Hati Pack are advocates that Omega wolves are not the reason why the werewolf race is dying off. Rorin,, is determined to prove to the council that destroying the Omegas or even preventing them from breeding is a huge mistake.

    Current Alpha(s): Rorin Kelly

    Traditions

Full Moon: When a full moon occurs, the Hati pack will typically hold a large hunt. They will bring down multiple prey and the rest of the night will be spent doing various activities such as spars, races and other competitions. The festivities typically revolve around the youth of the pack, giving them a chance to have fun and participate in activities with the adults.

Twenty years ago a witch by the name of Laurel Zauber was bitten by a werewolf. It was the first time in history that a witch survived the bite thus creating the first witch/werewolf hybrid. Angered at first, Laurel was coached by an old rogue elder. The elder taught her everything she needed to know about the werewolves. Through her training she realised that werewolves weren’t extraordinary creatures like she thought they were.

Thus began her plan to create a better werewolf and an entirely new supernatural species that would superior over all other races. She had always wanted power and believed she could make a superior race that could replace the werewolves of today and even take out the human race.

Ten years ago the first of the Fenrir wolves was created. Through black magic Laurel was able to create a new werewolf species. One that would follow her and her mates lead. They begun to recruit taking in any werewolf that wished to join her forces. Anyone who did not wish to join was immediately slaughtered. They had wiped out nearly 60% of the werewolf race.

Knowing that the Council stood in her way from complete domination of the werewolf race, Laurel has now turned her eyes to the small town of Haven. She knows that the Skoll Pack and Hati Pack are also two of her biggest enemies, even though she has never met them on the battlefield.

Current Alpha(s): Laurel Zauber & (Reserved)

    Fenrir Werewolves

The werewolves of Fenrir are slightly different from your average werewolf. While the wolf form they possess is physically no different, but in actuality it is a separate entity residing within them. The wolf souls are savage, bloodthirsty, and can easily take control of their human host. Unlike normal shifters, the wolf within can talk to the human host within their mind - similar to devils whispering in their ears. When a Fenrir werewolf shifts, the wolf takes over and gains complete control of the person. The wolf has its own name and its own personality.

    Important things to note:
    • Fenrir werewolves are submissive only to their Alpha and Beta. The Alphas have a strange pull over any Fenrir wolf. Meaning if they tell you to sit, you will be compelled to sit without hesitation.
    • There is no society ranking within Fenrir Werewolves (no Alpha, Beta or Omega werewolves). Their marks disappear when they are turned into a Fenrir wolf.
    • Fenrir Werewolves can only be created by the Alphas and must have been a werewolf prior to being turned into a Fenrir Wolf.
    • You can distinguish between a regular werewolf and a Fenrir werewolf by the red glow of their eyes in wolf form.

    FIGHTING
Weapons are not allowed to be used by law in the werewolf community, but that doesn’t stop some bane members from doing so. However, if you wish to carry weapons you are restricted to knifes and long blades (you cannot use this to overpower others unless you roll properly).

Fights are encouraged to be planned before starting but I understand that this may not always be the case. The moderators of the roleplay will keep a close eye on the fight.

For fights that are not pre-planned, use the system below to keep things fair.

For each posting turn, you select post action 'random number' and type in the numbers giving by age below. Type in 'Action Post/Fighting Post for Character Name'. Hit submit. Your post will have a number above it. Fill in your post with the determined outcome.

Please talk with others involved in the fight on how the hits will take place, and how characters will be injured. If you have any more questions feel free to message me. No character should be killed without the permission from the owner of the character and myself.

Note: This system applies to both wolf and human form. However, normally werewolves result to hand to hand combat, but the moment another changes to wolf, the other must as well to keep things fair. No wolves against humans and human against wolf (Unless you have a weapon and have contacted me about the fight and how it will take place).

Note: General speaking, for fairness you should roll 2-3 times EACH. Those that obtained the highest numbers [add them all up] OR the one with the most hard-critical hits would be the winner of the duel.

    Pup/Child
Pups do not have a rolling system. Since they aren't skilled in fighting and not comparable in size, they don't need one. Should you like to roll for pup vs pup fights, use the yearling system!

    If it is a group hunt, the majority of what is rolled will determine the outcome;
meaning if there is 5 of you, and 3/5 got successful the hunt with be successful however if you end up with an even number like 4 hunting and it gets tied for some reason, whatever the first person in the hunt rolled is what determines the outcome.

Also keep in mind, some of the bigger game can cause injuries - keep it realistic if you miss, maybe add in an injury.
