        The year is 2030, and the SAO Incident, the ALO scandal, and GGO's Death Gun have passed. RECTO Progress Inc, after changing management lost its power to a new rising company, AVALON Corp. The new company soon took over the gaming industry, buying out FullDive and thus taking over the NerveGear project. A few months later NerveGear02 was released and assigned exclusively to a new gaming platform called "Excalibur." It took the world by storm, becoming popular on many continents.

        AVALON, Corp. was lead by a woman, named Akemi Ito. She was an excellent business entrepreneur and game developer. She was known for her stubbornness and pursuit for success by any means necessary. However, darkness creeps closer to her and her company, and old foes returning. Will her past lead to her company's undoing and the death of thousands? And what of the players trapped in her creation by a vengeful man? Will they survive? Or will they fall, and join the others sacrificed from revenge and pleasure?

        AVALON, Corp. first launched it's BETA testing in January 2029, allowing one thousand people to play the game. Many of the fortunate Beta testers were related to the workers of the company. Scientist stayed connected to these individuals and monitored their brain waves as they traveled throughout the new virtual world of Akaneia. This study was conducted until the end of November, where the results and reviews were released on Christmas day, where the game would be up for pre-order for the rest of the masses. However, scientist involved in the study were still fearful that another SAO event or ALO scandal could take place. They also feared that another Death Gun could emerge to threaten the players once more. They released their opinions to the public, fearing the the FullDive NerveGear02 was still too closely linked to the players brain. During the BETA, players had stated that after receiving blows in the game, they experienced muscle fatigue as well as headaches once they logged out among other symptoms. AVALON, Corp. only added the warning to not play the game for a long duration due to the scientists findings. The game despite being surrounded by doubts, was released the following January to the world.

        NerveGear02 still retained it's form and was quite similar to ALO's device, however the developers wished to connect the player even closer to the virtual world. The device allowed gamers to experience smells, taste, and even feel the wind blow against their skin. Their senses in the game were heightened, allowing them to live in almost a new world, similar to the real world. The skeptic scientists feared that this system, while great in theory, was dangerous. They feared that to allow this system direct access to a player brain, and influence it so greatly, that it would damage it, or allow for outside forces to control them. AVALON, Corp. issued a statement as a response to the growing concerns, stating how the SAO, ALO, and GGO incident will not happen again. Akemi Ito was the leading front of this response. She firmly believed that her company had made it impossible for outsiders or employees to alter the mainframe of the game. She stressed that the company built in a alert system that would instantly detect if someone was trying to break into, or alter the system. If anyone was able to break in, the game would shut down and boot all players out of the game as a safety measure. Soon the fears died down, and more users signed on to Akaneia online, wanting to experience the new world and game play.

        Akaneia Online is a skilled based game, which through practice gamers can advance in their class, thus leveling up or rising in rank. Players can either team up in Guilds or groups of friends, or play Solo. Dungeons and Bosses are scattered across the world of Akaneia, allowing players to gain notoriety and skills. With this the players could then ultimately join the King Arthur's Round Table of Knights and Mages. There are many events, that vary with the seasons and holidays that produce special limited items to players. The class system does allow players to dabble in other areas, however they could never reach a high level in the second selected field.

        Akemi Ito once was the wife to Masakatsu Hanari, a computer engineer and programer that once worked for her company. Masakatsu was a child genius, working his way through life with high marks and great success. He met Akemi during his last year of college and instantly fell in love with her, not knowing that she was the heir to AVALON, Corp. While they were dating, Masakatsu took a job at AVALON, quickly rising in the ranks, and gaining the favor of Akemi's father. Masakatsu was able to increase the corporations success through his work, increasing their profits and influence in the business and gaming world. As time grew on Akemi became more forceful, and exercised a great deal of control in the relationship, and soon began to resent Masakatsu's success. Masakatsu, not completely willing to bend to her will or lose her, worked to keep her happy. However, whatever he did was never enough. Despite this growing tension the two were able to start a small family. Masakatsu deeply loved their child, often becoming the one who took time off to take care of her. Akemi, on the other hand, threw herself into her work, becoming jealous of Masakatsu's talents and ease at completing tasks. As the years went by, the tension between the two began to increase. It only worsened when Akemi took over the company.

        Masakatsu began to resent Akemi, for nothing he did was "good enough." He was belittled in front of his coworkers, his achievements glanced over, and eventually he was replaced and demoted. Their marriage only continued to fall apart. Akemi rarely returned home, leaving Masakatsu to take care of their three-year-old daughter on his own. When she did return, it was late and she smelled like heavy gentleman's cologne. He wasn't blind to know where she had been. Masakatsu began to loose heart in his desire to make the relationship work. Anger replacing his disappointment and pain. Three days before Christmas Eve, he receive devastating news, not only was he fired from the company he had made successful, but he was also divorced. Akemi taking everything in the process and severing her ties to their child. Desperate to take care of his daughter, Masakatsu searched for other employment, however his termination from AVALON, Corp. made it impossible for him to enter the field. The Corporation now extremely powerful and revered in the industry. He was forced to take odd jobs, and low paying employments. His anger and bitterness growing with each passing day. When he heard of the news of Akaneia Online's release, a game that had he had begun to develop many years ago, a plan for revenge was set into motion. His wife's arrogance and confidence fueling his hate.

        Gathering many others with personal vendettas against the Corporation, Masakatsu set out to destroy his ex-wife's company from the inside-out! He changed his name, as well as his daughters and began his plan. Hacking into Akaneia Online's system, he set his plan into motion, with other hackers and computer programming specialists at his side. Masakatsu made it impossible for the players to log out of the game, following the code process created by Akihiko Kayaba in the SAO Incident. Then, knowing of the problem with NerveGear02's close connection to the players brain, made it so that if a player died in the game, they would die in the real world. Using this, Masakatsu now held the players as captives and bargaining chips. If his demands are not met by Akemi, he would kill off a number of players as punishment. He launches his plan two weeks into the month of June, a few months after the game was first released to the public. Taking over channels worldwide, he then sends his message and threat:

        "If AVALON, Corp. does not shut it doors and answer to my demands, I will kill ten players. The numbers will only increase if police and authorities get involved and try to find me. Akemi Ito, it's between you and I. Give in, and maintain some of your reputation, if not… watch your world crumble. I am God here.


        Meanwhile, the players soon receive word of their predicament through the game's announcement system. Fearful and desperate to escape a place they once held dear to them, many players searched for a way to escape on their own. Having been close to year without no progress. Will there be unity amongst them, or will some seek to gain control? A rumor spreads, if players are able to gain recognition from Arthur and become a member of his Round Table, they are granted an escape from the game. A supposed fail safe that the developers had installed just in case another SAO incident occurred. However, are the players willing to gamble with their lives?

TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read)

Okay I understand that my story intro and plot line was ridiculously long so without further ado here is the BRIEF summary.

AVALON, Corp takes over NerveGear and the SAO, AND ALO dream. AVALON, Corp is lead by head chica Akemi Ito. She pushes the project despite the fear that the NerveGear 2.0 is too closely linked to the players brainwaves, and there could possibly be an open door for another SAO, and ALO incident.

However Akemi's ex-hubby, Masakatsu Hanari, did all the work and built up the company and made them the best gaming industry in the world. But Queen Bee, who was AVALON's heir, was jelly of Masa's easy success, and then booted him and their daughter to the curb. To make sure he would never be successful again, she ruined his reputation for good measure because she was butt hurt over how easy success and good fortune came to him.

So Masa sets out on a quest of revenge against her. He wants to destroy her reputation much like she did to him, and shut down AVALON, Corp completely. Gathering others of his kin that were wronged by the Corp., he plans on taking the players hostage in order to get his way. One of his more of forceful and bitter brothers in his scheme plans on killing off players if the demands are not met.

Meanwhile, players are freaking out, and begin to lose hope that Akemi Ito would save them. Miss Akemi is too stubborn and self-centered to bargain with "terrorists." Players search for their own way out, and game developers are more willing to help them. It is rumored that there was a fail safe built into the game, that if players were able to reach Avalbane they could be protected and be able to escape the game.

No God-modding or auto-hitting. If you are thinking about doing something major to someone else's character, I ask that you please discuss it with the other person first.

If the person your character has interacted with has not responded for a long period, then let me know. I will ask, however, that if you are going to leave for quite awhile to post one last reply before you leave. In this post I would ask that you finish up any conversations, thus freeing the other characters, and describe your character's absence. If you are completely finished with the rp, please pm me and we could discuss the fate of your character. I hate lose ends. Plus it would make things much easier for other rpers.

No Mary-Sues or Gary- Stues. I would like diversity and interesting characters. I will also request that you don't load your character with a lot of "baggage." Meaning that I don't want a lot of issues or cry your heart out back stories. Not everyone has a horrid past. Also please make sure your character has some flaws, they don't have to be major or crippling but at least something that will catch up or freeze your character in certain situations.

Keep it PG-16. I know romance can blossom in any role play, but I don't want it unfold into something that is equivalent or equal to cybering. (More on this part of the rule below.) I know there will be violence, and I would love to have battles where the character barely survives and is covered in wounds. But I do not want to read something so graphic that I want to find the nearest trash can, or try to quickly exit the page. I am all for descriptive post but not so much that it will scare others or make them sick. So keep it at the T level.

No cybering. Like I stated before I know romance can grow between characters, however such material is against Gaia TOS. Keep this forum clean of anything that isn't T. Implication is allowed however. Also, since the setting is in a game world where there is a <<Ethics Code On >>, that blocks/ filters unhealthy and mature content, it would be odd to have characters interacting in such a fashion. IF and ONLY IF, you deem the actions necessary, then just allude to it by then turning the Ethics Code off. Don't post any more detail after this, please. This will be general signal that something happened between those characters.

Respect Gaia's TOS. I have to state it, and it is to protect people from getting banned.

This is a Lit roleplay. Two paragraphs at minimum that contain eight to ten sentences in each. I understand there are days where someone can't write, but try not to make it a reoccurring thing. And in these paragraphs I want to see the common writing style. Meaning no chat speak. Also do not use first person. I want to see quotations when characters are speaking, and italics for thoughts. Though I believe everyone knows this so I leave it at that. I do want long posts but I do not want to see a post that takes up a whole page. Don't try to write the whole story on your own, include everyone.

When sending in your profiles and other applications title it "Pride Condemns" All others will be denied.

I will recommend that at the bottom of each post you summarize your post in some way. This is optional! The way you design it is up to you but this what I would like to see.

You don't have to have every single one I suggested. If you want to add something else then go right a head as long as it aids others in knowing what is in your post if they don't have the time to read the entirety.

Weapons can be from any culture, however there are NO GUNS or cannons. (You got mages for that. They can make things go BOOM like the best of them!) I will allow crossbows and heck if you have someone build catapults I will allow it. But keep in mind that weapons like that are cumbersome, used for sieges, castle warfare, etc. Those types of battles.

I would like colorful posts (However it is not fully required. As long as I know who your character is, it's fine with just the name at the top) . You don't have to go over the board but at least make it pleasing to the eye, such as a picture of your avatar. Also keep the font above 10 and keep the colors visible, nothing too bright.

Most of all have fun! If this rp ceases being fun, then I have failed. I want to maintain a friendly environment. (Hopefully we won't have any problems with people fighting…)

In Game Rules & Plot
These rules may very or change.

IYou may be wondering what the <<Ethics Code On/Off>> thing I was referring to in an earlier post and why it is important. <<Ethics Code On>> prevents all players from doing immoral things such as cybering, killing players in safe areas, or anything twisted. While Akaneia is an all ages game, it does have a filtering system in place for the younger audience, such as pre-teens. However the player could turn off this code in the settings. They can pull up this menu by holding out two fingers on their right hand and swiping downwards. This will pull up the game menu where it will show their stats, their list of friends, equipment list, inventory, and party stats, etc.

IWhile the game allows players to kill each other in combat, there is no killing within the towns, villages, cities, or designated safe areas. Safe areas are designated by entering walled in settlements, or by the presence of many civilians. There are also stone circles located throughout the land, which symbolize peace and protection. The Colosseum is also one area where killing is prohibited. These areas are subjected to laws of the kingdoms. The only time any killing can take place within city walls is when it is linked to a mission. These missions are often assassinations of NPCs, not other players.

IEach kingdom has its own laws, and if a player breaks these laws they can find themselves in jail. Jail time varies, and if a friend has the money they can bail them out. If it is the first time a player enters a kingdom, or smaller town or village, they are given a scroll which lists the rules and regulations.

ITo a certain extent players can dabble in other classes, however they will be unable to reach the highest level of that class. Other players who originally started in other classes, but switched using Seals do maintain the skills they learned, however their stats and over battle skills will alter to fit their new class to a degree. For example, if someone originally started as a Archer, but then switched to a blade wielding class, they can use bows to some degree. But they will not be nearly as strong as true archers.

IThe main purpose of the game is to be able to enter the gates of Avalbane, and join the Court of the Round Table and become one of Arthur's trusted men or women. Before the take over, there would have been extensions where players could be sent to other lands where they could level up even further. In these lands they would search for 7 sacred items that held tremendous power.

        MIDAS
            The starting city that players and adventures first see when they enter the world of Akaneia. This sprawling city is home to many different classes and shops. While there are some upper leveled players living within its stone walls, this kingdom and city is mostly for beginners.The shops within this kingdom are great for adventures and those just setting out on quests. Mercenaries, and Warriors alike flock to the Colosseum located within this kingdom, which makes it the perfect place to practice and hone your skill. But be wary still, for some opportunists like to hunt for unsuspecting prey, don't lower your guard.

        COLOSSEUM
            An old battle area left over from ancient times. Once used for entertainment, the Colosseum has become a hangout for warriors from different classes. A tournament of skill, and a school for swordsmanship, the Colosseum has many lessons and opponents hidden away in its many corridors. The Colosseum is located just outside of Midas' city limits in a sprawling second city. Tournament champions from the Colosseum are considered royalty in these parts, best not cross them. Centered around the Colosseum are the best known weapon dealers, and shops. Most problems are solved with violence and duels, and the city of Ronin within Midas is the best place to purchase vendettas and conduct duels.

        ARTEGAL
            A bustling port Kingdom, lined with colorful markets of exotic goods and wares. Its port is often full of vessels, and if one so desires to hire a captain and crew and set sail, they will find no trouble of finding such ventures here. Bars and inns are abundant and its not rare to see a bumbling drunkard in the streets at night. Watch your valuables, this Kingdom is also home to thieves, despite the Kingdom's efforts to expel them from their border. Thief guilds are located all throughout the port city in back allies and pleasure courters, so if adventure bands need a good lock pick this is the best place to find them. But beware these thieves don't come cheap. Artegal, is also known for it pastures and fields of produce, however these goods are located outside the city limits. Crime here is very low, and there is rarely anything exciting going on. Compared to the port, this side of the Kingdom is much more relaxed and slow paced. The locals are friendly and it is the best place to get fair prices for produce and wears.

        DUOLDROM
            A small agricultural kingdom located close to the Drago Mountains. This kingdom used to be plagued by dragons, who would steal and eat their livestock. Instead of calling for the kingdom to dispose of the dragons, the King proposed that the villagers form a truce. This truce would span many years, and soon the dragons became a deep part of Duoldrom's culture and traditions. This Kingdom became known for it's horse rearing as well as it's beast tamer class. Many beast tamers gather here, and many of their guilds and shops are found in this location. Since its located to the mountains it is also known for its blacksmiths, and is a rival of Aedus in this export. While this town is known for its friendship with beasts it is still plagued by hardships. Many missions await the ambitious adventure and it is a good place to start making a name for oneself.

        AEDUS
            The Mage territory, and home to the best potion and magic wielders in Akaneia. While there is a large city located within this kingdom, most of the territory is filled with small villages and towns. Aedus is well known for its magic market place located in its largest city. Aedus is the best place to buy potions, poisons, and magic metals. Many blacksmiths are located within this kingdom, and if players find special metals in the mountains or dungeons they could bring them to this kingdom to custom make their weapons. Aedus has the strongest economy, and has abundant magic since it is close to the Mana Tree of old. Life here is always filled with magic and wonder, but travelers must be warned to venture this land very carefully, for you may just get caught in the middle of a spell.

        CORAVAN
            A desert oasis that is home to many markets of fine goods, and fast horses. This kingdom is often considered the home of thieves and treasure hunters, for its dungeons offer many treasures. The competition here is fierce, and those just entering the treasure hunt market are advised to set off some place else. This small tough kingdom is well known for its stallions and battle horses, so much so that it is a rival with Duoldrum. While the heat is something to contend with while traveling within the kingdom, its monsters are equally difficult. Be wary while traveling over shifting sands, for you may just uncover unwanted danger.

        KESTREL
            This eery kingdom, located deep within dark forests of tall imposing pines, and foggy swamps, knows much strife and horror. The people here are hardy and strong, and deep believers in myth and lore. Only the strong of heart can call this place home, and are able to remain in the confines of the dark forests and swamps. Many warriors, knights, mercenaries, and other class flock to this kingdom for fame and glory, but many are left with nightmares upon leaving. This kingdom is plagued by monsters that come out of nightmares, and it is highly suggested that players who dare enter this land should come prepared and have a higher level. While this place is dreary and filled with terror in every turn, it is a great place to find materials, and rare magical items. Just be prepared, and be willing to face what you fear the most.

        AVALBANE
            A grand, and magnificent kingdom ruled by King Arthur and his Court of the Round Table. Before you approach the massive white stone gates, you walk through a lane lined by white orchards. This place is full of magic and wonder. A kingdom full of heroes, and skilled warriors and mages. Only those who have committed acts of bravery, and strength can enter the gates of Avalbane. Upon displaying acts of courage and good deeds, a player may enter, and enjoy the wealth of the kingdom through its grand markets, and pleasant homes. Many schools for different classes are found within these walls, and if a player impresses the Court of the Round Table, they may join their ranks and govern the land. Avalbane has the best ale and pubs in the world of Akaneia, and the hospitality is the finest.

        MAGE TERRITORY
            Is a vast, and rugged terrain. Evidence of duels between mages can been seen for miles around, and the energy within the territory is strong. Mountains shelter the territory from outsiders, and give the many mages many materials to use in their potions, poisons, and metal works. This land is sacred, and no wars for gain and expansion have taken place here. While considerably peaceful when compared to other areas, the Mage territory does have its own challenges. The mountains are swarming with danger and possibilities. The sea to the north also brings new strangers, as well unsuspected threats. The mystic folk found within this area are deeply tied to the Mana Tree found in the middle of this domain. It would be wise to keep good relations with the locals.

        DRAGO MOUNTAINS
            A large mountain range that stretches from the northern tip of Akaneia to the southeastern side of the continent. It is filled with mines, dungeons, and deep underground kingdoms. Dragons can be found here, amongst trolls, goblins, and orcs. Many travelers pass through its many passageways in search of treasure and adventure. These mountains are deeply prized by Duoldrom and Aedus, and are shared amongst the two kingdoms.

        SWAMP
            Located in Kestrel, this swamp nearly encompasses all of the southern tip of Akaneia. This swamp houses many creatures of the night and lore, as well as some dark and dangerous dungeons. It is surrounded by black dense forests, and the dense fog that often frequents these parts is quite treacherous, for it is rumored that even light can never pierce it. Many of Kestrel's inhabitants never dare enter its waters or bogs, too superstitious and afraid of what may lurk underneath the murky depths of its many waterways. According to Kestrel lore, in the heart of the swamp dwells a powerful witch that can grant any wish, however one must complete three tasks in order to gain an audience with her. So far none have succeeded in this quest. The path to such a treasure is guarded by a pack of foul beasts, bathed in blood of their past victims and the foul stench of death. This portal to the underworld, and nightmares is not for the weak minded, for this swamp will play nasty tricks, and those who enter never return the same.

            A class that can be found on foot or on horseback, and characterized by being heavily armored. They are able to wield a wide range of weapons, including swords, lances, javelins, and axes, making them highly skilled units. While slower, due to the weight of the armor, this class has a very good defense and attack, as well as a high HP. This allows them to ward off multiple attackers and deal solid damage in return. Foot Knights can purchase a war mount in Coravan, a well known area for horse rearing along with Douldrom. Knights are often bound by a sense of duty to protect, and are often quick to protect the weak, however there are a few black sheep. Knight Builds have bases within larger cities, an outposts in smaller villages and towns. Often times you can find them in taverns. Many Knights are found in the Academy of Military Arts and Warfare in which Tacticians study, if they wish to become Generals or Commanders.

            A melee class, that mainly use swords. Not nearly as fast the Myrmidon, however they are highly skilled and have a better HP. This class is able to take hits, as well as dish considerable damage. While, they are swords-for-hire, they are still formidable units. Mercenaries, are often linked to Fighters and Warriors, and can be seen gathered around them. Instead of guilds, they do create bonds and groups. Very close to the Fighters, and Warriors, its not uncommon to find them together at pubs and inns. This group is often considered ruffians, for their loud and boisterous behavior, as well as their foul language. While many would not be quick to trust these swellswords, these men and woman do have some loyalty in their blood.

            A robust unit, built to wield axes. This class has a high HP and strength, but low defense and moderate speed. With practice and experience can be promoted to Warriors. Warriors have the ability to use bows as well as axes. This is a highly offensive unit, and do intermix with other guilds as well as maintain the same company. Much like mercenaries, they do work for hire, and are often found in taverns alongside Knights and Myrmidons.

            A sword wielding class, separated from Mercenaries. Well known for their light armor and use of swords like a katana and more common, conventional swords that can be used by other classes.In comparison to other sword users, Myrmidon has a lesser amount of defense but are able to deal attacks at a higher accuracy. Their attacks have a higher chance of being critical, and when aided with superior speed makes them great at evading attacks. Myrmidon's through experience can become Swordmasters, and can gain more defense and increasing accuracy. Swordmasters are able to deliver strong and accurate attacks, and are swift dodgers. They are deadly class in battle. Myrmidon and Swordmasters, while having guilds of their own, are often found wandering Akaneia, alone, and within other guilds. Many are found in taverns looking for work, and hanging around the Battle Colosseum looking for fights.

            A horse-mounted class that are capable of wielding swords or lances during battle. They do not possess high strength, health, or defense, however they make up for it in movement. While weak against melee fighters, they are great against archers and snipers. Cavaliers are great rescuers, and are able to pick up injured allies quickly, and take them back to safety. This class is able to travel fast, as long as the terrain allows it, and are able to cover more ground during travel to other towns or villages. Cavaliers can be promoted to Paladins through diligence and training. Their evasive ability and strength increase with this promotion. However, Paladins are perfect supportive units and are great for creating distractions and disrupting the enemy. While having guilds of their own, Cavaliers and Paladins can be found within the company of Knights and Archers.

            A highly versatile class well versed in the use of Tomes (magic; Light, Dark, Fire, Wind, Thunder, etc.) and Swords. Excellent taskmasters, they are able to switch from a supportive unit to an offensive unit in a blink of an eye. Masters in long distances and hand-to-hand combat, make them great companions to have in battle. The only class that does not have a guild of their own. Instead, Tacticians do have a school they can attend to increase their knowledge and share secrets. The school is located just outside of Avalbane's city territory, and is named the Academy of Military Arts and Warfare. This school is open to other classes. This school teaches battle strategies, and allows students to study independently. Tacticians often fill in for generals and make great leaders for groups. Tacticians often create general guilds, allowing other from different classes to join.

            A class filled with deception and potential. A highly skilled group, thieves contain many abilities that come in handy when exploring dungeons, storming castles, or dealing with sabotage. Thieves wield swords and knives, lighter weaponry that will not burden them in their movement. Their power lies in their stealth and speed, making them great at stealing, and eventually spies and assassins. Thieves can pick locks, disarm traps, and much like their name sake implies, steal. They rely on their quickness and agility in combat, able to dodge a majority of the attacks thrown at them. Upon reaching a higher level thieves have two paths they can chose, either become a trickster, or an assassin. Tricksters are similar to hives, however they are able to use staves, and in some special cases tomes, however the use of tomes is achieved at a high level. Meanwhile Assassins mainly fight with knives and smaller weapons, due to the ability to conceal them, and lose the ability to steal. This class is full of potential and can be quite formidable foes in combat. They unlike Tricksters and Thieves, have a special lethal attack called Lethality or Silencer, that will defeat an enemy, regardless of HP and defense, in a single attack. However it has 50% chance against normal players and a 25% chance against bosses.

            An all male class similar to Clerics. A healing class, priest use staves to heal and transport allies away from danger. A critical unit to have in a party, Priests are able to ward off death. However, Priests are defenseless, and often have to stay behind the front lines. This changes however, if they pursue the path to becoming a War Monk. War Monks are able to wield axes, as well as staves. Staves that heal as well as increase party members resistance to attacks.

            An all female class that specialize in healing magic. Through the use of staves, they can heal party members and allies, as well as transport a wounded ally away from danger. A sister class to Priests and Troubadours, they are often found in cities in Clinics. While having a guild and school of their own, Clerics do often join other guilds for support purposes. They are able to become War Clerics, giving them the ability to wield an axe. Clerics are often found in cities and towns within the Mage territory, where the magic is the strongest.

            A very diverse class, specializing in many types of elemental and anima magic. Highly skilled, Mages are often highly valued units, as well as craftsmen. Mages are great forgers of metals, and crafters of spells and poisons. In their territory, Mages have many schools of magic, and guilds to attend. In the heart of the Mage Territory, a large market blooms with tonics, magical weapons, and war. Mages are similar to Tacticians, in their desire for knowledge and wisdom. Mages are very much connected to the land, and the large sacred Mana Tree located deep within their territory.

            Foot soldiers that carry bows, and are able to provide support from long distance. These units are often found behind the front lines, shooting arrows at enemies from a great distance. Through promotion, Archers become perfect snipers, able to purchase long bows, giving them the ability to pick off their targets from greater distances. They have a greater defense and health, increased dodging ability and critical hits. Archers can also purchase mounts in the city of Coravan, giving them greater movement and agility in combat.

            A smaller, but rising class in Akaneia. Beast Tamers are an extremely diverse group, due to the fact that they often befriend their mount and create a bond. A person often joins this class once they befriended an animal, such as Pegasus and dragons. This class is mainly found around Douldrum and Coravan. Those that become Beast Tamers often retain their previous skill level from their first class. Their level as a Beast Tamer only increases as they form tighter bonds with their mounts. At higher levels Beast Tamers can then begin to train their mounts to fight alongside them, creating deadly combos. While only have a few numbers among their ranks, Beast Tamers are highly regarded and feared.

Q&A


Q: If it's possible, can we volunteer to have our characters offed if Masakatsu went through with his x-number of players killed threat?

      A: Yes. If you wish to leave the role play with no strings attached, this is one of the options available. I am all for this, since it is up to you, what the fate of your character is. Most of the time players are unaware that they are part of the chosen group to be terminated if Masakatsu's demands are not met. Usually they just suddenly die, and their avatar burst into particles.


Q: Can my character be a 'NPC'/ part of the game?

      A: Yes and no. It depends on what role your character is taking. If your character, for example, is one of the game developers trying to help the other players survive, then yes. However, this option is limited to a select few. NPCs in this game are considered immortal objects. So if they are killed they will either respawn if they are linked to a mission.


Q: What about creatures in the Akaneia world? Can we befriend them?

      A: Akaneia's creatures vary depending on where they are located. Some are linked to swamps, or deserts for an example. These creatures take after myths, zodiacs, etc. Some creatures are only seen during special events. For example, vampires and werewolves may only be found during Halloween or October events.

      As for befriending creatures there are some limitations. Only some creatures can be befriends and used as mounts or allies in battle. Currently only Dragons, horses, and Pegasus are creatures that can be befriended in order to use in battle. Other creatures can form bonds with the player, but can not be brought into the battlefield or used as allies.


Q: What if someone's character decides to murder another person? Is that allowed? Are there repercussions for that?

      A: Much like SAO, those who kill other players due have their icon change to orange. They can be arrested if the murder is done inside cities, or safe areas. However, this game does feature player on player battles, which originally allowed other players to kill others, much like ALO. However, these kills are allowed as long as they are outside safe areas.

      Sadly murders only get arrested in the game and sent to prison. They can be bailed out for a large sum of money by friends, or from their own purse. When the game is taken over, murderers will face criminal charges once they exit the game due to a record held within the game system. But for now, they can pretty much get away with it.

      To kill in safe areas, players simply have to turn off the <<Ethics Code>>, which prevents immoral activities.


Q: Once we pick a class, we pretty much stick with them, right?

      A: Yes and no. There are items available for someone to change class, called Seals. These Seals are usually found within Avalbane, a Kingdom in which only high level players can enter. Or they can be found in caves and dungeons. These items usually cost a high sum of money.

      In other cases, if you befriend a creature that can be used in battle, the player can change to a Beast Tamer. There is also inner class changes, thieves can decided between two choices for example.


Q: I'm confused--what about a flying system? Is there one?

      A: Yes, there is a flying system within Akaneia Online. However, it is limited to creatures and special items. If the player befriends a flying creature they will gain flight. If a player holds on to special items that allow them to fly, they can also gain this power. However, these items usually have a limit on how much distance you can travel while the item is equipped.


Q: What can I do if my character is injured/ poisoned?

      A: If your character has a Cleric, Priest, or Troubadour in their party they can use them to be healed. If alone, the player can use vulenaries, tonics, or concoctions to heal them selves. These items can be purchased in markets for low to moderate prices. Stronger healing items will cost you more.

      If your character is located within a city, they can go to hospitals to heal injuries and restore HP. All poisons work slow on players, nothing will immediately kill them. Some drain more HP then others. Poisons can be healed more effectively by Clerics, Priests, or Troubadours, even some Mages. However if none of these players are near by, it is suggested that you carry at least some antidotes in your bag before setting out alone. These antidotes vary in effectiveness, and some may only slow down the poison or ward it off for a short amount of time.


Q: Would it be alright if I helped suggest some kind of events to go in the RP, too, if there is any delays/ slowness to the plot line? i.e.-a mini-virus-in-the-game-tournament between players, like the version of the Hunger Games, set by one of Masakatsu's hackers that an x-number of players with a certain attribute must be murdered before anyone is set free?

      A: All suggestions are welcomed! :3 However, the Hunger Games idea could be created not only by hackers, but by rouge players who wish to take advantage of the chaos and people's fear, and live out their sick fantasies. The hackers and Maskatsu are not the only antagonists present in the world.


Q: How would we describe going from one area to the other? Just a random little time skip, or would you rather there be descriptions about what characters are doing/ time passed?

      A: Ultimately that is up to the person rping. Travel will take quite a bit a time if a player does not have an item that can transport them at a faster pace. If interaction still is going between players during travel, then I might suggest not time skipping. I would just go with the flow. People may still need to rest in game, and stopping during travel, or while traveling is a good way to form closer friendships and bonds.

January 2029: Beta testing for Akaneia Online is opened

June 2030: Hackers infiltrate the game and now hold all players hostage.
