I was messing around with some of the Festive items in combination to make a holiday-themed av and realized the ones I was trying to use either had no listings or were super expensive user recolors so I gave up on that for now emo

I really like polar in winterstorm. It's an interesting colour (silver blend to icy blues) but I prefer seeing it separate to being ombred with the others. Admittedly, they do all work very nicely together:

I really like the "iris" shade of winterstorm, polar is fun too but I like to combine it with other colors and schemes to get away from that icy polar look. Some of that is just polar fatigue from too many winter-centric Runway themes though emotion_0A0

periwinkle is one of my favorite colors! when i came back it was the first thing i saw (when gifted a j's sketchbook by a friend) and i really wanted to collect it but color schemes overwhelmed me. ironically i'm obsessed with schemes now lol
not a fan of the ombres in most polar/winterstorm items. i wish there was just more solid periwinkle that i can pair with other pastels like butter and bbg. why did they kill rookie?

Oooh, it's finally winterstorm! I've always loved mournful ever since I fell in love with the Merciless Baroness item, so when winterstorm was first introduced with the Cabochomp item, I was like, what is this dark purple that ruins my fave scheme? XDDD Eventually, I fell in love with it as well, and sometimes collect it, though I still swing to mournful most of the time.
Just a small correction, winterstorm isn't just polar blue and dark iris. It's actually a combination of dark iris and either polar blue or mournful/ghostly. Gaia can't decide what to pair dark iris with, so some items are paired with polar, and some with mournful. Here's a visual guide to compare the three (ignore the ghost one at the right):
