And what the hell is Sailor Moon's story about? I can sum it up for you:

A girl discovers magical-super- happy-fun-time powers from a magical-super- happy-fun-time kitten. She then gossips to her friends about it, anorexically vomits her powers onto them, and decides to call her crew the Sailor Scouts (gaaaaay). Some random dude from planet ******** comes down to terrorize the world, but the Sailor Scouts decide to fight back with the power of friendship and unicorns, and ultimately save the world from impending doom.

Okay, fine:

A super kawaii young teenager discovers her super powers while drawing manga underneath her neighbor's cherry blossom tree. Her neighbor, however, turns out to be the omnipotent, and incredibly devious Tentacle Monster Chocobo, bent on raping little school girls all around Tokyo with his super kawaii tentacles! But Sailor Moon will have none of that! Dressed in her super kawaii skirt and sporting her super kawaii pigtails of light, she shoots beams of teddybear rainbows at the evil doer and banishes him back into deep space, where he shall forever remain dormant for the remainder of his days.
