As a runway fanatic whats in your advice on placing and or winning?

Woah! Ok, so first that is a super good, but also super loaded question at the same time! I wasn't expecting such a question, lol.

So, I guess first and foremost I would advise you to just be as creative as you can, following the prompts given by the design challenge. So, like if for example the challenge says don't use any backgrounds, or to avoid specific color schemes - follow those prompts/rules.
Creativity extends to more than just following the prompts of course. Use of colors schemes, lighting, etc. all contribute to creativity - and there are so many ways to be creative with your designs.

Also, have fun with it! If you're not having fun while coming up with your design and participating in Runway, then its not worth it if its something that stresses you out. Now, thats not to say that you may not experience some frustrations and such when participating in Runway - whether that frustration comes from having a hard time coming up with a design and feeling challenged when making designs, or feeling upset when you don't do very well. My best advice with that is just to not give up! Keep trying!

My next biggest piece of advice is to learn to accept defeat gracefully and try not to let it get you down. Thats something I'm always reminding myself of and working on, as I personally have a tendency to get a little depressed when my designs don't do well.

Placing/winning is never guaranteed, all you can really do is try your best and try to come up with the best design you possibly can, or a design that you really like. I don't always necessarily keep other people in mind when I create my designs - like I don't go into it wanting to come up with something to please other people...I mean of course the end goal is to make something that may receive a lot of votes that obviously people will like and will vote on...but my thing is, if I don't like my design - then I wouldn't expect other people to like it either...so I just try to make a design I'm satisfied with, and then I just sort of hope that other people like what I've come up with.

Also, be willing to learn from others when it comes to design as well - listen to their advice about working with colors and layering, etc. Sometimes, you learn a lot just by talking to and listening to other people.
