My dad is kind of the same way.
But he also firmly believes in work first play later.
The only problem with that is that he's ALWAYS working,
sometimes 24/7, which leaves no room for play or relaxation
and that's just not healthy. :/ Even animals in the wild play.
Play and rest are natural parts of our makeup.

I agree! I have learned to stop working on my days off, take vacation weeks, see my family. Go out and do things that relax. I live at the Gulf of Mexico for crying out loud. I'd be stupid not to get out and enjoy myself.
