Other Characters
Well, obviously the whole city isn't made up of just those guys. There's lots of people to meet up with, and some of the side characters are some of my favorites. I'd love to get some art of them too when I get the tekteks done. ^w^;
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII):
Not a surprise to find him around here, Sephiroth has made himself a rather prominent figure in the Calliope district as one of several self-proclaimed leaders of the area. He can be as kind as he is cruel, which leaves many in his territory trying to stay in his favor leaving few real companions. This fear is mostly unfounded (likely spread by rumors from those who've known him since his childhood when he first came to the area as a runaway experiment of the government meant to be some high-level weapon) as the man tends to remain aloof, keeping watch over the area. However, should government agents enter his domain property damage (and probably death) is eminent. Most if you ask say he wanders his territory like a predator, keeping watch on his domain; his closest companions however say most of his day seems to be spent searching for something. Wonder what it could be...?
Other Notes: Sephiroth is skilled in various elemental abilities as well as being a skilled swordsman. He does still have his wing but he usually tries to hide it as it reminds him of where he came from; though it does appear when he flies (which is quite often) and he seems to have made a habit of surprising those who try to come up behind him by striking them with his wing. Before he became leader for his part of the district, Seph was on the streets with fellow escapees Saix and Axel whom he apparently saved a few days before Saix was to be sent to ELITE headquarters. They look up to him like a big brother, but neither will ever call him that as it tends to create an awkward tension followed by a threat. Its unknown how he feels about them, as some are sure he's just using them while others accept (though still confused by) them as a family. For reasons unknown, you can usually get a smile from him by offering an apple... he seems to like them.

Lost SOLDIER
Kuja (Final Fantasy IX):
Kuja is a young and ambitious man with the hopes of becoming one of the leaders if not THE leader of the Calliope.... good luck with that. Quite self absorbed, he holds few companions but his network of "associates" has been growing, the only problem is that said associates are probably also Sephiroth's associates and loyalties in the area run thin; information often being given carefully as its likely to pass from one group to the other. Kuja has come to feel that the elder is getting in the way of his plans and though there's not much he can do to the leader (yet) he is one of the few in the area unafraid to stand up to and even threaten him and does stir up trouble for Seph and his followers when he can. However, he does value his life greatly and, despite the occasional encouragement from his followers, he's come to know his limits and refuses to take any drastic action until he can obtain the power he needs. What that is though is still unclear...
Other Notes: Tektek seems to hate really him.
I'll have a better pic to be used for reference at some point. See the second sample please. Just throwing that out there now. Kuja has a love for the theatre and just as much love for the dramatics. He happens to be highly skilled in magic, using various elements, though his hand to hand is lacking (fortunately, his companions Chester and Sync usually aren't too far away should he find himself in trouble, which isn't often). He also happens to have a tail which is never seen, but its fun to bring up anyway. Having the ability to float only seems to feed his liking for high places as one usually finds him on a wall, a balcony, rooftops, ect. Some say that due to his extended time spent in the government run "school" he doesn't have very good grasp on people; charismatic, persuasive, likable, yes, but he seems to have picked these up from the stage, actual human interactions and emotions often go over his head.

Darn Canary
Chester (Soul Calibur III)
Chester is also highly ambitious and has become one of Kuja's real companions in aiding his rise to power. After all, if Kuja succeeds he stands to benefit quite allot. As much as the man craves power of his own he knows he wouldn't stand a chance if he tried to turn on the guy, Chester has no reason to. In fact, he's found he's got way more advantages with Kuja alive anyway... even if he is still taking orders, he can get away with allot cause people don't want to piss off his buddy. Not that most people realize their relationship is more co-dependent rather than out of loyalty...
Other notes: Funny thing is though, they are still protective of each other. Its kind of like they don't WANT anything to happen to the other but if it did they'd move on. I kind of want to say its cause they actually are friends but neither really knows what to do with it. Chester is notorious for his skills with a knife and his speed is bad enough, but he also has the ability to create grenades at will allowing him the advantage even when an opponent tries to put some distance between them. Chester is more compassionate about others than Kuja is, which considering his own manipulative nature is saying something, but if he does care about someone its often because they earned it. On a personal note, Chester's hair is more a brownish orange, but the browns were too dark so it's not supposed to be that bright |D;

Sync (Tales of the Abyss) :
The third member of Kuja's group, Sync is a strange boy, if not for the fact he's the kid to be seen in the district since Axel and Saix were little, but because as obviously young as he is, he acts more of an adult than most others in their small part of Calliope. Sync's origins are unknown though he claims to have been intelligent enough to escape the school by hiding his potential and breaking through one of the less guarded areas. Whatever the case he has since been named a high level threat and is often found being the target of bounty hunters and soldiers alike. Not that the boy ever found trouble dealing with them but the constant annoyance of having to fight them eventually led the boy to seek at the very least a hiding place. Kuja seemed more than glad to take him in, if nothing else to keep such a prize from falling into curious hands seeking the boy's powers. After all these years though, some of the others have come to find soldiers more of target practice than a threat.
Other notes: Despite his speed and more powerful spells, Sync prefers using various wind and ice attacks over others. For some reason, he has come to believe that his only purpose in life was to be used and though his comrades have tried to give him a purpose and often seem to encourage him to go off by himself, it seems to remain a nagging thought at the back of his mind. As he does spend quite a bit of time on his own though, he's doesn't particularly care for anyone, though of his two self-proclaimed protectors he is closer to Chester than Kuja.... mostly because Kuja does like to use the boy when he can find use for him, but also because neither seems to give a damn what happens to the other half the time. Its quite possible Chester likes to keep him close as he has found the boy to be a delightful alternative should anything happen to his current king. Despite the rivalry between their groups, Saix and Sync have no issue with one another and somehow seem to run into each other most often when hunters are in the area. For this, Sync sometimes teases Axel and Seph they should probably find a babysitter as he's not always going to be around to save their friend's a**. Outfit designed by a friend.

Giovanni (Pokemon series) :
Giovanni is a drifter in the district, always on the move between the small domains seeking to improve his power mostly by challenging others. As so, he's come to be one of the most powerful Rockets in the whole district and despite most finding these summoners to be laughable, he does prove a challenge if not a real threat. Perhaps because he enjoys traveling, at times even out of the district in secret, he doesn't want to be a leader and in fact has come to avoid others of his kind. Saix and Axel got a hold of a list of names the ELITE is looking for (by questionable means), and his name happened to be one among them... what this means or why is unknown as the traveler holds much mystery about him.
Other Notes: Giovanni, like all Rockets (aka pokemon trainers, however due to the nature of the games the name came from the initial wave and even though other teams have come in, most people have already associated the term with those of the ability) is a kind of summoner able to call forth a monster to fight or to protect him. Rockets in the VV verse are... odd. Since you can't capture pokemon here, they're more like an extension of the master's soul so as it is hard to divide ones' self so many ways, the monsters are either weaker in large numbers or the trainer only has one-to-three at most as that's the most they can handle. Giovanni however has five: Nidorino, Nidorina, Rhydon, Kangaskhan, and a Persian which he normally keeps at his side, and though split, all are very high leveled. (Something of note, his Nidos end up evolving after the same incident that gave the "ghosts" their powers. The power boost is probably one of the reasons the ELITE has been looking for him.) Though Giovanni actually does meet with every one of the teams at least once, he's only an optional partner for Mirage.
Ex: none ^w^;
Erik (Phantom of the Opera) :
or
Erik often proves he can be as gentle and polite as he can be cunning and cruel. It really depends on how he feels about someone which side comes out, though the side most often seen (if he shows himself at all) is an almost child-like playfulness curiosity as he loves to mess with others from his place in the shadows. One thing that always remains clear though is he has established himself as the master of his domain and is more than willing to harm any one who challenges that.... Which just happens to be the head school for the Calliope district. As it has become well understood, since the schools have become so vital to the ELITE reign and city structure, the schools are what decides ones fate (how long they remain under government "protection" whether or not they join the ELITE at their headquarters or in some cases even what job they get when they join society, ect) whoever is the head of the school is the "king" of the district. In the past decade or so there seems to be some conflicting opinions though as many who've attended the head school of Calliope in the past 20 years has come to call Erik the rightful ruler even though he's not only not the schoolmaster but fully against the ELITE. This has caused much trouble as tensions have been growing high as there's a growing movement to get rid of the current king and growing dislike for the ELITE. The ELITE fear an oncoming revolt and have plans to get rid of Erik. Elphaba and her small group of rebels have plans to save him. Erik seems to have plans of his own. What comes of this only time will tell....
Other Notes: Erik is very much independent and likes to be in control of the situation at all times. The aggression that comes when one tries to force him to do anything usually leads to disaster or even death and may even be connected with the fire that killed his parents before he was sent to the schools. The ELITE took this as an example case of why the schools should be government run and be used to raise the children of Tinabrus as quite often parents didn't know how to deal with their children (especially ones with special abilities) and ended up with such accidents as the child is out of control. It was for safety, they claimed, of both the parents, others in the neighborhood, and of course the kids who were less likely to be killed or abandoned if under watch of the ELITE. Erik came to live at the school as a result of spending most of his life there and, due to his nature making him unstable in "normal" society, it was intended he stay there his whole life. Over the 30 years he's been there though, he's managed to create a massive maze of hidden entrances and corridors that he tends to spend his days in as he's the one keeping everyone under watch rather than the other way around intended by the ELITE. The children of the school (as they are residents here) have come to know of this phantom silently pulls the strings of the concrete world around them and has been known to draw curious students away into the depths of the building... though what happens within those passages is a mystery as not all who go in return and those that do don't speak.

Velma Kelly (Chicago) :
Velma has a fiery disposition; loud, independent, and cynical, she keeps herself unapproachable yet at the same time always sure to catch someone's eye. There's a delicate balance held between keeping herself always in the spotlight and her personal life in the dark. She is a well known performer in town, which coming from the musical community isn't easy as singers and dancers are a dime a dozen, and actually does get to travel between districts under escort. As a member of rebels she has access to some of the ELITE files and in being in fairly good ties with them can take a guess at their actions ahead of time and helps in the planning. She doesn't particularly mind the ELITE but she does find issue with the way things have been running in her district and has been using her access to help plan the assassination, which between her and Cassius should be a piece of cake, right?
Other Notes: Velma has the rather subtle ability of balance, which though many tend to mock her for it, has proven quite impressive giving her a cat like grace. Walking on rails, jumping between buildings, if nothing else it makes for good show and pretty much guarantees her safety on any sized stage, her knack for acrobatics as well as vocal talent is what helped her rise to the top and for that she'll gladly rub it in others' faces. Though the members of the resistance hold very loose bonds to each other, Elphaba, Cassius, Velma and Tamora have all been in it since the beginning partially from being close when younger and only recently coming together again after going their separate ways several years ago. Ex: none....
Rooster (Annie) :
Rooster is quite the little rat and not only does he know it, he seems to enjoy it. Its a bit of a freelance lifestyle going from one con to another getting anything from food to cash to a roof over his head with the aid of a silver tongue and avoiding real work like the plague. As so he's run into plenty of other shady characters along the way which is how he eventually came to meet up with Velma who eventually introduced him to the other rebels. Rooster doesn't seem to particularly care about the politics one way or the other but is hopeful that to gain a few things for helping out, particularly easing up police control in the area and favors from whoever takes over once they dethrone the current king.
Other Notes: Rooster's ability, not surprisingly enough, is persuasion which he abuses quite frequently. He still has to be careful though as its not so much he has to say the word and people obey him, but if worked right he can convince anyone one anything which comes in great handy with the police. Its rather funny that as notorious as he should be despite being able to cover up his tracks with anyone he's done "business" with, he seems more fond of wearing a variety of costumes in which case even if he messed up no one would recognize him. Rooster actually isn't even his real name, which makes it all the harder to track him down as there's few records of him once he got out of school. He actually met Elphaba during school as she ended up getting misplaced due to her ability of command, not that they were close by any means. They still aren't exactly friends, in fact Elphie still thinks he's a rat but puts up with him cause he's useful and they need all the help they can get.
Bic Wulf AKA The Big Bad Wolf (Various tales) :
or
Bic, despite his playfulness, is actually one of the most knowledgeable people in all of Tinabrus. However, due to his playfulness, there's a good chance he won't tell you anything in a straight answer and by adding a dramatic flair when sharing any such wisdom is more often than not brushed off as sarcasm or Bic... being Bic. He is a flirt and a charmer, which wouldn't be nearly so bad if he wasn't also a hunter quite often luring the gullible, innocent, and naive into the dark corners of the city where he takes his prey. Never mind the punk he appears to be, he is quite fond of the old adage "Looks can be deceiving" and has a tendency to speak in the "old tongue" or offer advice in the form of references to fables; given the dramatic flair he adds to it though, most assume its sarcasm. He and Ylil have been friends for ages, and honestly she's the only one he has any real connection to as all others, though he knows them, his only real ties is normally through blackmail.
Other Notes: Bic is a shape-shifter, having a different form for everywhere he goes which only adds to the confusion as to how it seems he has come to know something about everyone. What few seem to realize though, which often comes as a surprise, is that he's not a human shape-shifter but a wolf with several human forms. He has six different forms - the wolf (when in the comfort of home) a prince (a joke from Into the Woods as the actor who plays the wolf is later one of the princes for the rest of the show) the drifter (the tektek of "Bic's" form) a young girl (which disturbingly looks allot like red riding hood) a sheep (if you don't get the joke behind that, you should go grab some fables right now 8D; ) and a shepherd boy (Boy who Cried Wolf, he likes to use that crook for a weapon). He is one of the few members to have lived in every district at least once though currently he makes his real home in Spiratus... where he makes his living as a storyteller until he decides to go hunting in one of the human domains.

Dr. Jekyll (The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) :
Though his first name is Henry, everyone in town has come to call him by his last name which is fine as he seems to prefer it. Jekyll was the former "king" of Euterpe and pretty well liked for the most part who's policy for the schools was to try and help students lead a better life, or perhaps to redeem a past life, than to continue down the only path they know. A kind and gentle soul with a dark secret known only by fellow ELITE and the pair who grew up with him. Of course, he's a man of many secrets hiding everything from his personal life to his "sons" to the forbidden knowledge he's learned about the true nature of the city. Though he's gotten very good at restraining his other side, when Hyde comes out there's a complete change in the man both physically and personality wise; often short tempered, aggressive if not outright violent upon freedom, high energy and low conscience. He's often a trouble maker at best seeing the town to be his playground if he could just make it outside.... Erik and Javert both had the strict orders from Jekyll that should Edward show up they were to keep him at home by any means possible which has only brought the stranger gap as Jekyll adores those two, Hyde would rather see them dead. In fact, were it not for his fear of the noose (which Erik always seems to have on handy) he probably would have tried years ago.
Other Notes: Jekyll's hair is supposed to be brown (in flashbacks though he might be getting gray streaks by now), but the item (as well as I the style I like) only came in white. Also, Hyde doesn't have a tektek (yet?) though it'd be interesting to see a design for him. Jekyll's the oldest in the cast right now, about 60 actually, though Hyde appears to only be in his late 30s which Jekyll has referred to putting up with him is like trying to look after another son. |D;
Jekyll's ability is really confusing even for the ELITE to pinpoint as on the one hand he appears to be a shifter, on the other hand he seems to have a knack for poisons, and yet again some argue it seems Hyde is more of him going into some sort of berserk state. Really though its allot more simple and subtle than that: willpower. Though it would seem like a pathetic ability, one would be surprised to see him able to endure severe physical damage and its this subtle ability that helps in keeping back his other half as their struggle is often a question of mental domination. Jekyll was taken into the ELITE after being named a threat to normal society as its been proven how killing was in his nature. He's been on the fence whether to believe them or deny it by claiming its all Hyde even though by now he knows that the two are one in the same. Even though he belongs to the ELITE knowing what he does now about them has lead to allot of questioning and bending of the rules for the sake of others without their knowledge. It wasn't until he almost got caught, now named a traitor of the government, he had to flee Euterpe for his life - planning to take Javert with him to keep him safe from the ELITE and leaving Erik in charge of the district. During the escape however, he and Javert got separated with the city and ELITE assuming the man to be dead. Since then, a man who simply goes by "Edward" has come to live quite comfortably in Erato for the past 30 years...
