ninja My sister usually makes pumpkin pie for Halloween.
Dad doesn't bake at all.
Only my sister and I do. She makes pies ... and cream puff...and cakes
I make cakes...cookies and muffins. xd Though not often.

awe man i wish i could cook! whenever i try i always forget ingredients...... but my dad does all the baking in my family. generally he was never home in time to actually cook dinner during the week so my mom did that most of the time but he would bake treats for desert =) (its a wonder that i'm not obese)

The Day Of the Dead Man

Well, the story behind this is that after Halloween, there come the day of the dead. I don't really celebrate Halloween much, but whenever I think of Halloween, I don't think of werewolf, mummy, vampire that sparkle. No none of that. Yo pienso en los dia de los muertos. Sugar skulls and smiling eyes. Skeleton boys and corpse brides. This momentous day: begin their promenade. Puppets dance and fond motifs: create a gift on graves to leave. No tears, just joy for lives now gone away! Flower drapes and fond farewells, sweet dreams to those we loved so well. The Day of the Dead in Mexico is not a mournful commemoration but a happy and colorful celebration where death takes a lively, friendly expression. Indigenous people believed that souls did not die, that they continued living in Mictlan, a special place to rest.

Why did I use the items I used: I use day of the dead item because of the skull design on the face. In here in most america city and everywhere in mexico, We mostly paint our faces with these amazingly beautiful skull design. It one the most true art that we inherente from our ancestor. I place a rose petals and skull candies around because that how we celebrate in mexico. We decorate the grave with paint and flower petals. The story of the skull is that we place the skull on the altar on the first day then after three days we eat them. The first day, the spirit of the children spirit are the first to connect to the world then they go back to the grave, the second day its the adult spirit that we celebrate. a special time and space to remember and honor the loved ones by offering them an ofrenda, the fragrance of the flowers, the light of the candles, the aroma of special foods and the solemnity of prayers. It is also a time to joke and make fun of death through "calaveras", poetry allusive to a particular person, generally politicians; sugar, chocolate and amaranth skulls which are given to one another with their friend’s name so "they can eat their own death" and special crafts allusive to different aspects of the living, with skeletons representing daily activities.

Why did I chose this. Well it because it really part of my culture, its not death should be afraid. it how we truely live our life for. Well there you go. *bow*
