Teagan's now dreamless sleep had been interrupted by a gruff voice, and pressure on her mouth. Her eyes opened wide as the most horrifying man came into her vision. She didn't try to scream but instead tried not to panic- though it was hard not to. How had ANYONE made it to her room without being stopped, or heard by her at least?

She wasn't even sure what this man wanted, though she could make an educated guess. And now, with everything she'd experienced since coming to Serendipity, she was unwilling to let THAT happen again. But her dagger was too far from reach, and she was certain she couldn't overpower this man long enough to run. Perhaps she could bite his hand, or kick his side, but it would do no good int he position that they both were in. Instead, Teagan tried to be cunning, and reason her way out of this unwanted meeting.

She relaxed her facial expression and her body, and waited for the man to release his hand from her mouth.

At the sight of fear in Teagan's eyes, Lurp's face split into an ugly smile. but Teagan's sudden relaxation unnerved him far more than any fighting back could have. He smelled a trap. Even so, there was nothing for it but to plunge on. A knife appeared, sudden as death in the shifter's other hand.

"You scream, by the time they get here, you won't have enough lungs left to tell them what you were screamin' for. Ain't nothing off the side gonna happen, you understand girlie? Jimmy here just wants some information off ya. Gonna take my hand away now, nod if you understand."

Teagan nodded slowly, and did her best to keep her face relaxed. In an emotionless tone, she replied quietly,

"Information? I'm in the business of gathering it myself. Now worries, this will go as smoothly as you let it." Teagan rose with a false confidence and shifted so she could sit up in her bed.

He'll probably stay calm if I maintain a close distance, but not too close...who the ******** is he anyway...

"Screaming is for cowards and do-gooders..." she added coldly. She gave a quick grin, hoping he'd take it to mean that they were on the same side of the moral spectrum. Teagan watched attentively, but decided not to stand for now.If things got desperate, she could always pretend to climb out of bed completely, and draw the dagger that was hidden within the mattress. But she felt that it wouldn't be necessary, hopefully. Rivek's feather was in there as well. If this man let her rise out of bed completely, she'd grab it. But not yet.
