I'm around at the moment if anyone wants to play with Sadye (who's in Dead Man's but can move) or Dev (who just left Dead Man's and is wandering around the Axle).

It also means you are guaranteed to get something if you make it past Round 2.

Whoah.... A lot has happened since I was last on... Can't believe how busy things have been... we had a death in the family... and I've been tutoring non-stop, but I'm glad I checked in today!

The next round of the competition looks intense!!!! Such creative questions and settings to place our characters in... I'm going to have to do some serious thinking about what to do with Colter in this stage!!! I wish now I had done some RPing, even a couple of times, and gotten to know some of the others better... I would feel kinda bad using other peoples' characters if I don't know them at all...

Also, can't believe there are more prizes!!! Woe is offering art now!!! *low whistle* The stakes have definitely been raised!

Good luck to all in this round... I think we all need it... but I'm sure everyone selected is up for the challenge... you all have such wonderful OCs... and such creative minds. : )

How strange, wanting to actually interact with others... Well, it rather helped he seemed to have seen his fair share of pain, if the bandages were any indication. Or he was simply like others here, with a strange fashion sense.

Seist hissed in frustration at Borrek's words. His posture did not shift though and he made no reaction to any of Borrek's gestures - being unable to see and all certainly cut out a good deal of cues Seist could pick up on. He found it difficult and resolved to avoid using this method of hiding his scars in the future.

"I doubt my quarry and your client are the same person," Seist replied, letting some amusement creep into his voice, "If they are of the guild, than I would not be standing here as my quarry's first attempt on my life most likely would have succeeded. I would be interested in meeting with your client and would consider such an arrangement a fair bargain for my talent - that is, assuming the spell is indeed within my ability."

He couldn't help but smile. He was an excellent mage, it was doubtful this would be beyond him. And if it was... than he had new reason to fear this world he'd found himself in.

So I think I'm done with my entry, for now anyway. I finally made everything fit with the word count, but I'm still open to completely changing half of it if I have to.

I'm too nervous this round.

Are we still allowed to post it in the thread if we want to? I always felt weird about that but..this time I kind of want to, since I put so much energy into writing it. emo

I need to start on my entry but I'm really discouraged right now. Having issues with my brother critiquing my novel. I'm not sure what he's trying to do - if he genuinely wants to help or if he just doesn't like the concept.

Aww, don't let that get you down. He's only one opinion out of many. But if he doesn't seem to like the concept, try asking him pointed questions to find out why.

If it's something simple like inconsistencies in the story that you didn't notice, then these things can be fixed, and the story made into something more likable. And if the story just doesn't sit well with him, just remember that not everyone will connect with your novel. Find someone who better represents your target audience to critique it, if your brother can't appreciate the novel for what it's supposed to be.
