'I thought that would happen' He thought as he dashed after an emotionally distressed Teagan. "He paused a moment to tell Lamia "I will find you later" before beginning to trail his target.

Once outside he climbed atop the neighboring building to have himself a look around. Ja'tel spotted Teagan somewhat in the distance, moving quickly though not quite gracefully. He followed closely to her, using the rooftops as his pathway until she came to a tall tower-like building. He waited a moment to plan his next move, but he realized she had made her way to the roof. Though he could not see her he could sense her presence there. Ja'tel didn't exactly know why he could, perhaps because they had the same profession and were therefore on a similar wavelength or maybe it was because of the cursed tattoos that covered his body and in turn gave him odd powers. He didn't think to define it, just move.

After scaling the building quickly and bringing himself to the top, he saw her leaning against the roof and for a moment he regretted being here, thinking that maybe he should give her privacy. But he stepped forward silently, "Teagan..." he said softly.

currently on a high rooftop with Ja'tel, though if you go to Garland's, you could ask NPCs there if they saw me.

EDIT: what I mean is, they would have seen me at Garland's, but they dont know where I am now.

Her eyes opened for a moment then shut again, as she saw the figure in the corner of her eye.

"Impressive..." was all she replied. She stretch her arms and legs to wake herself up a little, but she didn't look towards Ja'tel.

Why did he even bother.

"It's a shame we have so much in common." She added later. Though she wasn't even quite sure what she meant by that. Finally, she turned her head slightly to look in his direction, but didn't bother to force a smile, or even a kinder face more suitable for a greeting. She kept a dark, sad scowl on her face. Maybe this was the face she should wear always. Certainly less people would ever think to befriend her in that case.

Ja'tel usually would have grinned but he only took a place next to her. "Could be." There was a slight breeze which was cool. He hated it. "Maybe is good thing though." Clearly she was not in the best mood and he didn't quite plan this far ahead. Comforting women was a tricky endeavor. "Don't you think maybe we could make the most of being here? You...at home, were unhappy, though I know not what happened exactly. Maybe this is your much wanted escape"

'Am I making sense? Damn women....'

"Is how I am beginning to see it."

Teagan glanced over at him and smiled sarcastically.

"Maybe..." she started, "But it's not. I seem to be the only being here without supernatural or physical strength, to just forget the suffering I've gone through before coming here. Every your little lady friend..." she raised an eyebrow, watching his reaction. "Even she has been through 'trials' in her time, yet she's here and suddenly she thinks that this is some wonderful second chance where all you do is befriend people and wander around."

Teagan sighed heavily, and tried her best to maintain eye contact, though her lids were drooping down now. "I've heard people call Serendipity a second chance, a new beginning... but how can it be those things? What good do are actions do here? Do they affect our lives back home? If this was truly a second chance, I'd be back home, back in the past." She grinned evilly now.

"But you see Ja'tel, a second chance almost implies that I actually DID something to deserve the complete rotted mess that was my life. In fact I did very little, no, I did NOTHING to deserve what I went through. I simply was born a woman. And the rest is history." She tried to take a deep breath again but had a short coughing fit instead.

"In my home, I grew up knowing the role I needed to perform. And when I left home to find freedom, much like the kind my brother Jonathan had, I ended up being captured, and only trained in a new role- the one of a killer and thief. And after six years of being a killer, I find myself here- but still without freedom, still without happiness." She searched his eyes for a moment. She'd give more details but...it pained her too much and besides, they had just met tonight.

"I'll give you an analogy you'd understand. It's like being born a puppy, adorable, tame. Your live with a family in a submissive role, a pet. They feed you and shelter you but you are below them. Now imagine that one day the puppy, now a dog, escapes.

And for a few moments there is freedom- but the dog is caught once again, by a different group of people. Now the dog is trained to be vicious and cruel and strong- for dog fighting. So the dog fights and fights, still submissive to a master. It is fed and sheltered, but also now abused and mistreated, constantly put into danger. Until finally one day, the dog dies in the danger.

But instead of traveling to heaven, the dog finds itself in yet a new area, with new people. And the dog is foolish enough to think NOW it finally has its freedom and respect. Only it doesn't- because it's still a dog, a homeless, stray dog, in a city of people."

Teagan turned to Ja'tel and leaned in to whisper.

"And that is all I am. A dog.


...A b***h."
