"That's the spirit!" he told her happily. "Things will get better from here! But if you ever feel like you need any help, do come and visit the Outsider's Outreach Welcome Program's Headquarters...we're located right across there!" He pointed to a tiny building across the street, with a flag attached to the roof; the flag was made of wool and appeared to be white with a picture of a pink heart with a smiley face on it. Nathanyal had designed it himself.

"No," he replied, smiling. "There's nothing I need, just to know you're happier. Do take care Sadye? I hope we'll meet again!" He hoisted his basket of socks back into his arms, gave her a cheery and over the top wave, before he turned with a thoughtful look on his face, looking for someone else to offer assistance too.

"Hello!" he greeted the blonde woman who was sitting alone at a table. "Would you like a pair of socks to welcome you to Serendipity?" He rummaged in the basket and pulled out a pair of yellow polka dot ones.

"Odd question. But again, very self-explanatory. Even old birds can fly."

He shrugged. "Those that can't. Well, time's come for them. Who'd want to live like that anyway?"

User Image "So... Mandy considered Rivek's answer, "You'd just sit at the bottom of the hill and wait to die? I think I'd pull myself around with my forehead before I did that."

Teagan gets pissed at the strangest people.. D:
It's not you, it's her. Mandy reminds her of her own little sister Ava. They never got along and Teagan always felt like a failure as an older sister.

haha, no. I thought it was great! When Mandy is like this, she needs to get slapped around sometimes. She's ok. It was bother her for maybe ten minutes. Then she'll forget it ever happened and probably try to bug Teagan again. xd

"Nice to meet you," he bowed before walking a few steps closer but maintaining a respectful distance.

"I've been in Cerxes for an undetermined amount of time. I guess you could say I know 'enough' to get by," he shrugged. "Teleportation seems to be their favored mode of transportation. But if you ask me, it's a trick natives like playing on Outsiders."

He reached into his bag. Was there anything he could use to light up this goddamn room? His hands rested on his shears. Interesting.

Damn, Teagan. Quite bitter, aren't you. D:

She was attracted to Blakely the first time they met, but that was cut short. (she'd probably never going to be attracted to the right person for her, even if he exists at this point).

Since she's still trying to get over being in the friend zone with Rivek, she'd pissed that she was reminded of Blakely's existence again. I dunno how much of Teagan's back story you know of, but basically she's pretty much been screwed over in more ways than one. She's had one love interest in the past and he was sort of like Blakely, and he pretty much ruined her already ruined life.

lol no happiness for you Teagan! >:O

By now Teagan was furious. This cave-like room was endearing and all, but she was starting to feel trapped, and what few questions came her way only made her more upset. She sat in one of the dark edges of the room, watching the others as they socialized. Her eyes were narrow, and she bit her lip occasionally.

Everyone seemed to be having fun being stuck here. How very odd. She'd never truly understand these people. In fact she was starting to feel more at home with the natives of Cerxes, than with the Outsiders she'd met recently.

Sighing, she reached into her pouch and took out Rivek's feather.

It's...glowing...faintly...what the hell...

She held it gently between her index and third fingers on her right hand, twirling it back and forth. It was as perfectly intact as it was in the moment she'd received it. And it emitted a glow now, ever so slightly, that very much matched the light coming from the bubbling vat in the room.

I should learn how to use this...but...I don't want to anger him by 'testing' it out for nothing....ugh. Forget it- I'll be lucky enough to figure this out if and when I need to.

The feather pulsed again, this time a bit stronger than last time. Perhaps the glow, and its energy grew stronger, the closer it was to Rivek? After all, the last time she'd examined the feather was up in her room, stories above the rest of the city. Teagan was jealous- if only she had an artifact for another to remember her by. The only thing she was good at leaving behind so far, was terrible first impressions.

Whaa?? It took Mandy it moment to realize what he had just said. Was he implying that he'd kill himself? eww... Mandy felt a little queezy at the thought. She liked Rivek. But someone as cool as him would just kill himself? Maybe she'd misjudged him. Mandy looked up a Rivek for a while. "Well... whatever you think is right, I guess." she shrugged. "I think I'd still prefer the bleeding forehead thing."

Eloquent Raider

Lol, poor mandy. Rivek totally can NOT connect with kids. biggrin ;;;;
WoefulInfinity
"Nice to meet you as well." She laughed. "I see. Well, I can hardly blame them; I suppose If I had the option of teleporting, I would take advantage of it often as well. I just hope it won't be the death of me.." She trailed off lightly, casually glancing over to the hand rustling through his bag.

"If you were a dryad, what kind of tree would you like to be tied to, and why?" She called, smiling lightly.

User Image
Alaana

"A dryad huh? Well.. I've been changed into a lot of things, but not a dryad... hmmm." Alaana pursed her lips while thinking.

"How about like a tree that changed its colors all year, and maybe even had some flowers in winter. I wouldn't want my tree to get boring, you know... like a little life and verve there, looking good is important... but really....

It wouldn't matter so much what the tree was, as where it was. Preferably somewhere with a nice view, and a couple of lovely little quiet tree friends with other very cute dryads in them. Good, yea?"

Oh, I know... also the tree would have a pool nearby where lots of beautiful maidens might come to display shocking amounts of skin while bathing. I suppose they could maybe bring a gallant boyfriend or two, its good to have friends. My tree would also probably have a perfume scent that enchanted everyone into coming closer. Except people I didn't want to get closer. Everyone else though."

And maybe like the tree would also be near some popular lordlings house that had wild parties and lots of good music and wine, beautiful people and all that. The kind of summer parties where you go outside and have a great time in the twilight together. Dancing, laughing, singing and getting cozy together. And if anyone was sad, well or down, especially if it was me, my tree's leaves would swing in the breeze and make a lovely little tinkling that lifted the spirits."

Yea... thats the kind of tree I'd be with, and I'd still be the life of the party somehow. Hey, being a dryad sounds kind of fun!"

"I have a question for you.
Have you ever wanted to kill someone so desperately, but couldn't because if you did, you couldn't wish for their death anymore?"

User Image
Alaana

The question tugged at Alaana's memories.... like a stealthy and sly creature moving its way to the surface from a dark and deep lair, sensing the unwary. She didn't want to go down there, she didn't want to wait for it either.

"Maybe..." She shrugged uncomfortably. Sometimes death isn't good enough, it puts an end to everything. And it changes nothing anyway. Yes, she thought to herself, I have had chances to kill him... each time I gave him mercy. Was this her reason? Or was it because she wanted to see him ruined and powerless for as long as she could.

Perhaps because you are weak... one voice whispered to her. Another voice chimed in perhaps because you fear to let him out of your sight, even in death. She ignored the voices. It would have been stupid not to fear him. He deserved to die more than others lives she had taken. But that wasn't really her... was it? Why did I let him live? Why do I let any of them live... am I waiting for something?

"I guess Im not sure what my reasons are, but yes, I have given mercy to my enemies." She frowned a little, absently toying with her coat sleeve. "And also, I've denied it."
